The people we met were very friendly. Our non-smoking room stunk horribly. The smell lingered into the next day. The windows were open when we arrived during single digit temperatures making it extremely cold in the room. The sink leaked all over the bathroom floor. The front desk was very nice and gave us extra towels for the floor. The room had a kitchenette, but the coffee pot was wet inside and only decaf was offered. I wouldn't have used the appliance either way. There was free coffee offered in the lounge. The room was dated and marginally clean. The rugs needed serious attention. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this hotel to a friend, and do not plan to stay at a Candlewood hotel again.

It was an amazing trip and the largeness of the rooms and ability to cook added to the pleasure. The ability to recycle plastic would have made it better, I have anxiety over throwing bottles and cans in the trash versus recycling them

Didn't like put down the hall when I asked close to an exit n got a handicap room, SUV was parked in front of door with cigarette butts on the ground, very sad

The property is gorgeous, probably the first hotel I’ve ever walked into that smelled fresh, clean and welcoming immediately. Front counter staff are excellent. However we did have a small issue with housekeeping - she entered the room before our checkout time

The staff was professional and courteous from the moment we walked in the door. They answered my multitude of questions throughout the stay. Even though they were sold out, they provided extra blankets and a cot, because my daughter last minute decided she wanted one. I would definitely stay there again if I am in that area.

Sam the front desk guy on the third shift during our stay was awesome. His customer service was outstanding!! I haven't had that kind of incredible experience in a very long time. Very refreshing having had amazing service like that. Thank you Sam for all you did during our stay.

Stayed at the Candlewood with two kids (9&15) and my wife to visit my MIL.
Location is good - there is a bar/ restaurant at the end of the car park and West Reading Main street with a diner and other restaurants/ facilities is at the end of the street.
Room was a good size for 4 of us and clean. All facilities (hot plates, microwave, fridge freezer) worked and were clean.
Staff were friendly and helpful from check in onwards.
One issue with a bug had the maintenance man knocking on the door to resolve within 15 mins.
I would stay here again.

This is our go-to place to stay when we visit our son who attends college in Reading. It is clean, quiet, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Brewer's is a good restaurant/sports bar just across the street and there is a cute downtown area with lots of little cafes/restaurants nearby too. Love it here!

The service people were nice and friendly but the hygiene level was very poor.
The first night I got a lot of bites from fleas (It´s a pet friendly hotel and you meet both cat´s and dogs) so I asked to be moved to another room.
While conducting my morning shaving I noticed a flea enjoing breakfast from my foot........
Now 14 days later I am still scratching my more than 100 bites and I look like a leper.........
