Thunderbird Lodge

The hotel is at a good location but a lot of things are wrong with it. The AC makes so much noise that we stayed up most of the night. The ceiling is so thin that you can hear people walk and talk from the top floor. The breakfast was so basic. No eggs either and the pancake machine broke. So just bread and cereal were the option.

The property is conveniently located in the revival old town of Redding with many local shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. The room was modern and well appointed and the reception was warm and helpful. This place is a gem.

Great location off the freeway, good breakfast, clean, the best staff! Would stay there again.

Thunderbird Lodge is a refurbished motel and they have done an excellent job. Our room was immaculate and had a neutral smell. There was some cool art, so even though the rooms have modern furnishings they still are cozy. If you’ve stayed in older lodging you know that many have a moldy smell makes by perfumed air freshener. None of that going on here. We were traveling with our little dog and had a downstairs room. That made it easy to take him out for walks. The location is perfect, walking distance to several restaurants. We travel through Tedding at least twice a year. I know we will be back!

Our room was perfectly clean, the bed and pillows were very comfortable and it was very quiet at night. During the day and early evening you can hear some sounds from the street but nothing disruptive. There is a very good 24 hour donut shop a short walk away that was too tempting to resist. We will definately stay at this hotel again.

In our way back from Oregon, it was a quick overnight and then home. The room was comfortable and it was nice parking right outside the room. The only drawback for us, we felt the pillows could have been softer.

The staff was great, the rooms were very nice since newly remodeled. The only negative comments is that the walls and windows seem thin. Heard all the road noise since it’s on a busy street. There’s also a fire station right behind so heard when the fire trucks pulled out for a call with sirens on.

The room was comfortable, pleasant, and in close proximity of some great restaurants. Given that proximity to downtown Redding, however, you might want to bring earplugs if you have trouble falling asleep.
