Trefon Hotel Apartments and Family Suites

We had the most loveliest time as a family with teenage children. The staff were amazing! Everything was precious and we want to thank Maria, Joanna, Robert & Badilis especially - you made our stay great! The hotel is definitely worthy their 3***‘s! It gives ‚cute‘ throughout! The only thing I would mention is - that the whole little town was shut down apart from a supermarket, 1 car rental place and 2 food places. No open bars or restaurants nearby. However, we would definitely return to Trefon during high season :)

Booked via ***********. we searched for a place large enough for 4 adults and 3 children (2 younger children go free) We were given an apartment which was lovely. The breakfast was good and I do not want to detract from a lovely little hotel to stay in but we had one issue that was not nice On leaving the hotel one day, gentleman behind called my wife over (she is greek) He began to say that there are too many people in the room We explained that we went through *********** and filtered what we needed and this was what was offered He said that they must have made an error and they only have this problem with Greeks I have no issue with him questioning if something was of a concern but call people into the side office and discuss rather than in open reception We contacted *********** who said that we should not have been shown this apartment in filter In summary a cock up occurred somewhere but this man said 'that's not my issue'. Isn't our issue either, surely *********** contacted hotel to ask him to apologise and if he didn't within 24 hours then they would withhold payment He apologised and then asked what he should respond to *********** From then on he seemed to look through us for rest of holiday Overall the hotel suited us and handful of staff and maids were lovely. 2 ladies on reception were wonderful, another gentleman with glasses and fair hair on reception was great too. It's a fine hotel to stay and good location, we were just a bit put off by this gentleman attitude

We stayed in 2 bedroom apartment on 2 floors. It had 2 Airconditioners, 2 bathrooms with toilets, 2 balconies, Mosquito nets on the doors. Beautiful apartment. Daily cleaning. Very spacious. The Stuff very friendly and helpful. The pool was a litlle small but we did not need it, because the beach 3 minutes walk away was great. 2 Sunbeds with umbrella on the beach were 6€. Breakfast was a classic buffet, dinner a litlle smaller choise of dishes but for 3 stars sufficient. There are many restaurants with good and not very expensive food nearby. Taxi to Rethymnon was 10€. There is more life in the town. Only problem I had, was with the noise in the morning, because the balkony was on the side, where the parking is and the delivery trucks were disturbing.

Very good apartment in excellent location. Very helpfull staff in the object - always ready to help and give good advices. Breakafst excellent with rich choice of dishes including traditional cretan food.

Location is good, very close to beach yet not right on busy *****. Parking right across Hotel has small pool of its own and another larger shared pool between hotel and beach, with bar/small restaurant. We took the superior two room. Apartment was clean. Note that upstairs room had a double bed and an a/c, downstairs room had 2 singles, no a/c in room, but kitchen a/c worked great to reach entire floor. Beds were comfortable.. Kitchen/living area very small. Shower tended to splash beyond stall. Towels were refreshed frequently. Breakfast was standard hotel fare. As compared with our numerous experiences in Greece, our hosts were not especially friendly or hospitable.. Hotel was okay but would see no reason to choose this hotel over another.

The trefon apartments are a family run small aprt hotel i would give it a basic 3 star rating. With what seemed to be a shared beach side pool four mins walk from hotel and a very small paddling pool within the complex. Breakfast is basic, no toaster available! Quite strange. We chose not to bother and to self cater. Lidl and supermarket withing 5 min walk. Beach here is shaley and very rough seas for swimming red flag on two days out of six not the quiet waters shown on Trefon site. Our experience;we arrived to be told our maisonette was not available due to problem with washing machine. Booked a two bed maisonette for 5, two adults and three teens, from the images on their site looked modern and spacious with two bathrooms. The gentleman at check in was friendly and apologetic he offered us an "upgrade" to a suite for one night while they sorted the problem with the machine as during me it would be sorted that day. The suite was large in trrms of iving space and had a nice balcony BUT the beds were disgraceful in all three rooms. So hard and impossible to sleep on. Facing the lovely taverna opposite so noise to about 1am. Next am We packed up and after breakfast went to collect the key to move to our paid for maisonette with two bathrooms. Met with the owner who was not so polite and quite rudely told me the maisonette would not be available no apology she told me we had their "best room", i told her i wasnt happy as we paid for and booked a maisonette with two bathrooms. She told me "to trust her" i had her "best"room and was dismissive and rude telling me to come back tomorrow. No account for time wasted packing up before breakfast. Day two we packed up before breakfast again wasting more of our precious holiday time to be told our room wouldn't be ready till 12pm when the guests vacated....no more mention of washing machine problems! Ridiculous inconvenience and waste our time swapping and changing(packing incl self catering shopping!). The room was ready at 1.30pm. The maisonette room beds were better for comfort and sleep but No Aircon in downstairs bedroom had to put the living area Airton on high fan to get room temp down leaving person on couch unable sleep. The couch bed is a small hard sofa under the stairs barely big enough for 11year old back to the suite quality hard as the Rd. The living area was so dark and small we had to leave door open to get some light to see what we were doing even with lights on during the day. Really only suitable to 4 people. The fancy website photos don't give a true reflection. To give some positives house keeping staff were polite and nice. Without wanting to moan... They came in before 9.15 every morning...no do not disturb sign available. New towels every day. Basic self catering facilities.

My family and I spent a week in there… rooms are very clear, they are being cleaned every one or two days, staff is soo friendly, willing to help you at any time, view from the rooms was awesome (over the city) Food was really good( breakfast) - with different options every day Easy access to pool and beach; also a supermarket in the nearby; Downside: pool is a small one and it can easily get filled up with guests But all together, we had a great time there !

This is a real gem of a place. We booked a superior two bedroom apartment for a very reasonable price and had a lovely stay. The apartment was on two levels with the twin room being on the lower level and the double up a set of wooden stairs. Both bedrooms had balconies and en suite plus there was a small kitchen with a table and 4 chairs (fridge, 2 hobs, microwave, wash machine, toasties maker) and along the wall was a three seat sofa which could easily double up as a fifth bed. We went with two teens who could walk down to the beach on their own and up to the supermarket. There is a pool on the beach which wasn't yet open but would be lovely for families. Breakfast was great and you could pay as you go for 8 euros each. Just a really clean and bright place with plenty of flowers
