Stoke Hotel SureStay Collection by Best Western

We had a pleasant stay at the Stoke Hotel in Revelstoke. It was conveniently located for us on the west side of Revelstoke and we came in late from this direction after some exploring during a road trip from Vancouver. We read that the hotel has a very good breakfast and we can confirm that this is one of the better hotel breakfasts we have had. Check in was pretty smooth because the hotel allows guests to pre check in and we just had to show ID at the front desk, pay a deposit and were given the keys. There is a nice small park across the street from this hotel and there are some dining options nearby. We booked a single queen room and the room was nice and frosty from the air conditioning when we arrived. The bed and pillows were super comfy and the television was very easy to use and even had quite a few on demand movies. There was a desk, coffee machine, fridge, and microwave. The hotel has seen some wear and tear and this is evident in the bathroom where the counter was separating. The bathroom was otherwise good with strong shower pressure and good bath products. They provide ear plugs in the room and that helps because there are frequent trains that go through Revelstoke and while the trains are easy to watch they are also easy to hear day and night. We had a great view from our room and felt it was quieter on the upper floor but if you get a lower floor room you get two comfy outdoor chairs to really help soak in the surroundings. The hot tub is outdoors, is very clean, and in the middle of the courtyard giving awesome views of the area. We stayed in mid August so the mosquitos were bothersome after dusk but otherwise we think this is a nice amenity. There is plenty of parking at the hotel. The hotel breakfast was very well done - there was a good selection of breakfast staples including eggs, sausages, potatoes, cereal, waffle station, yogurt, bread, bagels, fruit and all the condiments. We were impressed with the to-go section with the large selection of tea and milk options. The breakfast is in a cozy restaurant that has charming decor and plenty of seating. We believe there is good value in this hotel and would recommend it to friends and family who are planning to spend some time in the area or having a quick overnight stop like us. This could be a good base to explore the area as there is lots to see and do in the area.

I enjoyed my stay at the Stoke Hotel. The room was comfortable, I was beside the laundry/maintenance room and noticed some noise during the day but not in the evenings or nights, it never bothered me. My room was adjacent to the hot tub and I did hear some loud good times but it didn't bother me and it was quiet by bedtime. Breakfast had so much selection. Waffles, eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, apples, grapefruit, oranges, muffins, bagels, and various breads and cookies. The hot foods are alternated, just so many options, it was fantastic and made for slow mornings sometimes. The breakfast staff were welcoming, great at stocking up and tidying up. The mornings were very enjoyable. The bus shuttle stop was nearby and the front desk gave bus vouchers when I asked. There was also a free shuttle service downtown, to the Regent Hotel, just a matter of requesting after 5:30pm. Staff were friendly, the premises were clean, my room and bed were comfy. Had a great stay even though it was not downtown and I didn't have a car. Denny's, McDonald's, tim Hortons and a&w are in walking distance. Good location and comfortable stay.

Pros: Room was clean, bed was comfortable, staff were friendly, breakfast was decent and lots of options. Cons: room was tiny, aircon was horrible, it didn’t work well constant cold hot cold hot, we couldn’t sleep for two nights which was horrible. Expensive for what you pay for. $250 a night, I guess we were also paying for peak season price.

Good location and helpful staff. Breakfast good. The aircon in the room is really loud and the blinds don’t block out the light. I can only assume the hairdryers were purchased by a bald man as they barely give out a puff :)

It's crazy how much a crappy old motel with a new paint job can charge! The pictures are deceiving!!! The tiny room stunk like cheap air freshener, it was small and the air conditioner didn't work well at all. The tub is ancient and shallow. And the hot breakfast included an egg scramble and disgusting shredded hash browns. Save your money and go elsewhere!

Specious rooms with all basic amenities... Great stay!
