How this Hotel got a 4 star rating is beyond me. We stayed in an 'executive' room on the top floor and were very disappointed. The bed was torn, walls were damp and discoloured, the air con filters not working as the walls were black and the outside balcony was full of weeds and the wooden floor rotten. We asked reception for coffee for the room as it had a kettle and tea bags - the answer was no!!! We went for breakfast the next morning and guess what - both the coffee machines were not working and staff didn't know how to fix them so no coffee. We were looking forward to using the spa but then see a sign - for guest safety the spa is not to be used!!!! How long has that been the case, a very long time. Our first night we used the hotel restaurant - a big mistake. Staff are not trained in customer service. We ordered wine and asked for water before ordering our food. 10 minutes later the server came back and had not taken our food order correctly so had to go through it again. We again asked for our wine and water. After our starter we asked again were was the wine and water?? During our main course I had to get up and look for staff to again ask for wine and water. No one came to check on us and ask if everything was OK or if we needed anything. I got the impression the least the staff had to do with guests the better for them. Each morning we were woken up before 7am by staff dragging tables and chairs across the floor, I assume on the main balcony area or restaurant which was next to our room. Very inconsiderate. The Hotel grounds give you the idea that there is no care for this Hotel. Full of weeds and rubbish and what look like abandoned motor homes in the car park. Overall this Hotel is not looked after or takes care of its guests well at all. It appears the management have given up trying to provide a quality service.
