Social Hostel

I'm never going back to that hotel. My family and I had a horrible experience. On rooms 7 and 9, the maids were constantly yelling and saying low-class things loudly. Nothing against sexual orientation, but they were talking vulgarity. I'm out. I'm never going back there with my family.

I had stayed at Social Hostel before and had a good impression, however, on my last stay, from March 26th to April 1st, I was surprised by the lack of proper cleaning and disorganization. On Saturday, March 29th, there was a party in the common area for guests, and when I tried to use a chair I was prevented from doing so. Was the place closed and I didn't know? There was another situation where I tried to access my room on the second day and access was blocked, and at reception I was questioned about payments, even though I had already paid everything at check-out. In short, I was very upset with everything.

The hostel looked like a dump. The beds had old, dirty mattresses. The beds were noisy. The bathroom door didn't close properly; it was only slightly open. The shower stall didn't have a door, so it flooded the whole bathroom and turned it into a mess. The room window wouldn't close properly, and the street was very noisy. For me, it was the worst place I've ever stayed. The receptionist was a nice person, very professional.

Very good, wonderful reception, I loved the service, a nice, cozy place to be with the family. I recommend it and will return many more times. A great experience for my family in Rio de Janeiro.

As acomodações são boas, tudo no estilo hotel — funcional, confortável e bem cuidado. O ponto alto com certeza é a localização: entre Copacabana e Ipanema, pertinho do Arpoador, numa região bem policiada. Me senti seguro o tempo todo, mesmo circulando à noite. O que deixou a desejar foi o atendimento. No check-in, ninguém me explicou nada sobre o espaço. Não souberam dizer se tinha área comum, cozinha, sala de jogos... nada. Perguntei pra outras pessoas da equipe e a vibe foi a mesma: pareciam sempre com pressa ou sem paciência. O resultado é que acabei ficando só no quarto, sem interação nenhuma com os outros hóspedes, mesmo com o lugar cheio. Se a sua ideia é ter uma boa base pra explorar o Rio e só voltar pra dormir, é uma boa opção. Mas se espera um atendimento mais acolhedor ou um clima de troca, talvez não seja o ideal. Atendimento estilo "faz o básico e olha lá".
