Such a great hostel to make long lasting friendships! It starts with the staff being super welcoming and giving you tips on how to best navigate Rio. I came without a plan and ended up extending because of how much fun I had at Books.

Books hostel is in the heart of party central Lapa, beautiful Santa Teresa is just up the road and the beach, sugar loaf and other attractions are just a short/ cheap taxi or bus away! It’s the best place to meet others if you’re a solo traveller, everyone is made to feel safe and welcome. The staff are all very helpful with plenty of recommendations. This place was hard to leave.

I think as backpackers you can visit lots of really nice hostels, with top of the range facilities, in beautiful locations, but the most important thing for me is the vibe and atmosphere. The vibe that Felipe, alonzo and all the over staff and volunteers have curated at Books is the best I've experienced in my years of traveling. Making Books an absolute must if you are heading to Rio. The biggest testimant to this is the sheer number of people who return there year on year (including myself). If your looking for a fun, social, family feel with lots of great advice on what do in the City, including the organization of loads events. Books is the place for you.
