If you think of it as a guesthouse rather than a hotel, it is a comfortable facility. The public area has a kitchen and a calatry.
The reservation system here is peculiar. I was relieved to receive a message from ********** three days before my stay that my reservation was confirmed, but I had to follow the instructions to confirm my reservation. I failed to do so and did not know how to check in. Unfortunately, I never received the email that the staff said they sent. Nor in my spam mail box. When I pressed the doorbell at check-in time, there was no response at all. Perhaps it is not working. With the help of the master of the restaurant next door, I managed to check in. I was not able to get a receipt for the city tax payment because I had to leave the cash in the room and checked out.
The room has been renovated and is very clean. However, they are not soundproof. You can clearly hear the noise from the room next door. The door in front of the common area was auto-locked. I didn't know this and left without a key, so I was locked out. When I called my family loudly from there, they could hear me in the guest room across two doors and opened the door for me.
Oh yes, I should add that there was some tiramisu in the fridge left over from a previous guest.
