I planned a last-minute trip to Rome for 7 nights in December, with only about three weeks to spare, and found myself in a pinch looking for accommodations near the Vatican. Having stayed in this neighborhood on a prior visit, I knew it was exactly where I wanted to be. I came across B&B A Picture of Rome —and I’m so glad I did. Two things immediately caught my attention: the excellent location close to the Vatican and the availability of gluten-free breakfast options. I booked without hesitation. Within a few days, one of the owners, Alessandro, reached out to help coordinate arrival details and kindly answered my questions while I was planning the rest of the trip. That level of communication was incredibly reassuring, especially with a last-minute booking. On the day of arrival, Daniele was my point of contact and made check-in effortless. He also took the time to offer thoughtful recommendations on things to do during our stay. During the visit, we also communicated with Giulia, who was always attentive, helpful, and kind. We stayed in the Double / Twin Room with City View, and it was exactly as shown in the photos—spacious, very bright, and very clean. The B&B has only a small number of rooms, which creates a calm and relaxed atmosphere. Interaction with other guests was minimal and mostly limited to breakfast time, which made the stay feel quiet and private. Although our room faced a fairly busy street, noise was never an issue. The room was well insulated, and the light-blocking curtains were especially helpful, allowing for restful sleep every night. The B&B is conveniently located near a metro station and well connected by buses, making it easy to get around Rome whether you choose to walk or use public transportation. Breakfast is served every morning and offers a generous selection of pastries, cereals, fruits, juices, and—of course—excellent cappuccinos (with other drink options as well). I especially appreciated the extra care taken to provide gluten-free options, which made mornings stress-free and enjoyable. From the owners to the staff, everyone was genuinely kind, patient, and welcoming. For the location, comfort, cleanliness, and level of service, this B&B is absolutely worth the money. We were grateful to find availability on short notice, and A Picture of Rome exceeded our expectations. Highly recommended. I would gladly stay here again on a future visit to Rome. Grazie mille! Vi siamo grati. :)
