Roma Dreaming Suites & Lofts

Our stay was a Roma Nightmare rather than a dream. Having booked 5 nights in total we had to cancel after one. The cause was simply a bed that was not fit for purpose and could only be described as a ‘lumpy crater’. Impossible to sleep in without back or neck pain I honestly thought the bed had broken. Rolled straight into the middle. The bed we were assured was not broken, we were told by the manager the mattresses throughout the property were well over 10 years old and they had never had a complaint. Until us. Really? I can’t believe it. Perhaps the problem lies in the fact the mattresses are original and past it. I have been on breaks, holidays and overnights all over Europe and further afield and this bed was the most uncomfortable I have ever experienced. We contacted the manager who was most uncooperative and kept saying our opinion was ‘subjective’ and he wasn’t going to offer another room or change the mattress. To make matters worse we had paid in advance for the first 2 nights, we received only a one night refund for the night we left but we paid for our most uncomfortable night and were short changed by 7 euros per person. The refund took 4 days and several emails. Sadly not a place to recommend a bed is a basic. Very disappointing experience.
