Best Four Star Hotels in Rome

On the overall a nice hotel, but kind of far from the center, 10 mins away from the Torre Angela metro station. Everything needed was in the room (fridge, conditioner, hair dryer), clean, everything in good condition. Reception desk staff speaking adequate English. A nice little pool was also available for us, my son enjoyed it. Didn't buy breakfast, so I cannot say anything about it. Were mostly in the city, came to hotel only for sleeping. Conditioner working, a balcony to the back yard, not a very nice view though, but it wasn't a problem.

The hotel is in a nice location with a train entrance just down the street. It was very clean, our room was very nice for the four of us and the hotel personnel were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed their breakfast every morning- it had a.good selection of breakfast food. Several great restaurants in the area. We enjoyed the wine bar next door - great food and wine. We also had wonderful drinks at Gatsby’s on the other side of the hotel. It was a 15 minute walk from the main train station which was not bad at all. We had a wonderful dinner around the corner at Vecchia Roma- you must make a reservation or get there before they open to get in line. We got there 15 minutes after they opened and waited 35 minutes for a table but it was worth it. We enjoyed our visit and would stay here again.

We stayed at the Hotel Ripa Roma for five nights. At first glance, a very well-kept hotel with a good ratio between price and quality. We were well served on arrival after midnight by the receptionist and were able to get to the room quickly. The last day we could check out until noon, but since our flight was in the evening, we could safely leave our luggage at the reception. A plus, because your last day in Rome can also be a nice one this way without luggage dragging. The hotel has a very nice, contemporary and artistic look. We like this very much. The room (superior room) was very spacious, clean and with the necessary facilities. The bed was very good. The bathroom was very hygienic, logically arranged with a pleasant shower. About the room we certainly have no complaints. Only the noise from other rooms and the corridor was disturbing. When the guests in the neighboring room turned on their TV, we could perfectly listen in. When shouting in the hallway, it seemed that those persons were standing next to the bed. The rooms are not really soundproof. Fortunately, we had earplugs with us. We also took breakfast during our stay. Here we are less satisfied. The tableware was dirty (coffee cups brown, cutlery with food residues, plates insufficiently cleaned, glasses full of calcium, ...), in our opinion a limited choice of healthy food (many cakes and cookies) and the hot dishes were cold, even when they were just served. We found the staff unhelpful, even a good morning or a friendly smile was sometimes too much. When we wanted to sit at a table on the small platform in the center of the restaurant, we were sent away because cleaning was already in progress (around 9:30 a.m.). The last two days the hotel was fully booked, which caused a lot of noise in the restaurant. We experienced this as unpleasant. Should we return, we would book a room without breakfast and find a nice breakfast place in town. Finally, we find the city tax on the high side. For the five nights (six days) we pay €60 (= €5 p.p. per day). That is the highest city tax I have ever paid and we are frequent travelers. Overall, a nice stay in a well located hotel, with the breakfast restaurant as a point of interest.

The location of the hotel is ok. It is walking distance to the Colosseum. Breakfast was great but more than that, the staff were very helpful but the breakfast crew were especially kind and helpful. My room was on the 6th floor and the concierge immediately took my bags upstairs which was wonderful. I’ve been in many hotels in Europe but this one left me with many questions. The room is small… very small; but I had a beautiful balcony. There really was not enough room for two full size suitcases. There was a closet but one door was blocked by the bedside table. The bath …. Good luck 😐 the shower is tight … very tight. The worst part of the entire experience was the annoying tv, even if you mute it, it will tell you it’s muted; it narrates everything and it is awfully annoying. Would I stay here again…. Possibly 😐

Where do I start. DO NOT BOOK TO STAY HERE. Im never one to complain or even leave a review. But i had to with this awful place and terrible customer service. The double bed we had, was 2 metal camping beds pushed together with a thin but SOLID ”mattress” on top. 1 flimsy pillow. Dust mites made my asthma flare up. Stains all over the carpet and our duvet topper. Damp on the ceiling. A telly that doesn't work. No drinking facilities. A rickety lift that only worked to floor 3, not floor 5 where we were put. Dreadful cooked breakfast. Pre wrapped pastry was OK. Rude staff. Far away from any of the sites to see, description of hotel says it is much closer than it actually is. We moved to another hotel after our first dreadful night. And upon complaining, we have received no compensation for anything. Awful customer service. AVOID AT ALL COST.

Breakfast had a good variety and the room was clean. However, even though I had reserved and paid for a shuttle to the airport on my way home in advance, due to a mistake on the part of the hotel, the reservation was not made. The only response I received was a refund and a call for a taxi.I kept the taxi fare. The response at the reception was not commensurate with the price of the hotel, and was on par with other business hotels around there. I'm sorry.

I booked two standard 22 m2 rooms, they gave me one of perhaps 12 m2 which is very small with a tiny bathroom and one a little larger with a large bathroom, one in the opposite wing. Shameful . Very nice and helpful staff but…… they should respect the reservations and not to their liking. My complaint X the room was answered …. Sorry we are full…. I am speechless ….

I had 2 negative experiences in this hotel, one of which was very unpleasant. First, the hotel could no longer find my reservation, but that was resolved very quickly. Then on the evening of the fourth day of my stay, I found an envelope on my bed with a 50 euro fine in it. At the reception, I was explained coldly that it is because it is forbidden to smoke in the room. The cleaning lady would have smelled the cigarette while cleaning the room. The problem is that I'm a non-smoker and I can't stand the smell of cigarettes either. It was particularly unpleasant having to convince the receptionist that I don't smoke. Finally, she withdrew the fine. I came 5 times in this hotel, and to be fair, I must say that the rest is perfect. The staff are professional (except for the fine!), smiling and helpful. The rooms are very well equipped and spacious. The breakfast is very good and it is possible to have dinner at the hotel.

Clean and comfortable hotel, 15 minute walk to nearest Metro station which gets you to centre quickly! Air-con in room comes on in the evening which is great as we were not in the room during the day due to sightseeing so not a problem at all! Over all I would recommend this hotel if not wanting a hotel directly in centre of tourist location!

The people at the hotel are very kind, thank you and very eager to help us. I booked this room for the first time in Rome and I am very satisfied. The facilities are very complete, and we were given a beautiful suite with two separate bathrooms on two floors 🛀 It was a very comfortable night, and I am very grateful to all the staff in the hotel 🧡
