"We spent 5 nights here. It's in a great location in Ross-on-Wye, overlooking the river and in the centre of the town. The accommodation was perfect for us no complaints at all and the breakfast was good. The host Geoffrey was very welcoming giving us lots of tips on places to go and places to eat. We ate in 5 different restaurants in Ross and all were excellent. No 3 was the icing on the cake. We would recommend Radcliffe and would certainly go back."

"A lovely local that welcomes everyone as a local! The food was absolutely delicious - my fillet steak cooked medium rare to perfection and do not miss out on a side of the best onion rings I have had....end of! After our meal we watched live football on the TV over another couple of drinks. The Landlord and his Team were super friendly and accommodating and great to socialise with others including racing trainer Lucinda Russell and her husband Peter Scudamore on the eve of the Cheltenham Festival. Highly recommend for a meal - locally sourced produce features on the great menu. Highly recommend a visit if in the area, bang in the centre of the village on the A40 between Gloucester and Ross-on-Wye."

"Had a fantastic seven day stay at Benhall Farm, staying in the Granary. The accommodation, an annexe of the main farmhouse, was perfect, huge oak beam vaulted ceiling giving the room plenty of character. Perfect location for Ross on Wye town centre, only a five minute walk to the White Lion and the whole of glorious Wye Valley is readily accessible from this perfect base."

"We stayed at this lovely B&B for three nights and from the moment we arrived were made to feel so welcome by John and Celia. Our room and en-suite bathroom were extremely clean and comfortable with exceptional views of the surrounding countryside. Celia’s breakfasts were delicious, varied and of high quality. Thank you both for your hospitality. We would not hesitate to recommend this gorgeous accommodation."

Lower Wythall B&B

Lower Wythall B&B

📍 Bulls Hill, Ross-on-Wye
★★★★ 10 (25 reviews)

"We first stayed for three nights in early autumn last year and really liked it, so we decided to stay another three nights in early spring. Sheila and Guy made us feel very welcome again. Our second visit has been even better than the first, not least because we could enjoy the glorious spring weather and spring flowers in the garden during the day, as well as the cosiness of sitting by the fire in the lounge in the evenings. Sheila's little cakes were excellent, as were the breakfasts. A great place to stay."

"We stayed here over the bank holiday. We were offered room one with the most stunning views, spotlessly clean, high quality toiletries, tea, coffee, biscuits. Also bottled water in room. location was superb at the top of the steps leading down to the river, very near pub and town. Kim and Geoff were the most amazing hosts, looking forward to our next stay"

"We spent a week in the Garden Cottage and loved every minute of it. Carol made us feel welcome the moment we arrived and the tea, coffee, milk and cakes in the cottage only proved it. The cottage is a perfect peaceful get away with everything you could possibly need on a self catering holiday. Everyone in the family was so friendly and happy for us to walk around the farm, visiting the cows. They were happy to show us and talk to us about the robots. People had warned me about the smell and early mornings on a dairy farm but this really was not an issue. It is a working farm so there is the occasional tractor going past the cottage but that's no different to having cars pass your house. The setting is idyllic. Table and chairs provided to sit outside the cottage and enjoy the peace. Lots of scenic walks close by. A 30 minute walk by the river takes you into town. The farm is just off the A40 so an ideal position to be able to travel to other locations."

"A pure gem of a location, a fascinating historic house and excellent hosts, Sheila and Guy. We were welcomed so warmly into this magnificent restored Tudor house. The rooms are beautifully furnished and the bathrooms are wonderfully huge! Breakfast was a feast of home made food and there was always cake and tea available. Nothing has been overlooked in order to make this the best B and B we have ever stayed in! A few miles only from the centre of Ross-on-Wye and a perfect centre for the Forest of Dean and the Brecon Beacons within striking distance. We stayed 3 nights in this tranquil, idyll of a house."
