Charming hotel, in the middle of Rouen, where we stayed for one night on our way to Cherbourg. Friendly staff at the reception, a code to open the front door after nine o’clock, and free parking below the hotel. You do need to make reservations for the car park as there are only a few spots available. The hotel is situated in a no-car area though, so we needed a card to enter the area, a bit of a hassle but we could take out our luggage in front of the hotel. Nice rooms, small but clean; breakfast sufficient.

The best thing about this hotel is the lovely lady on reception who couldn't do enough to welcome us and talk to us about what to do on our quick stop off on route to Calais.Recommend the superior room , pretty decor, lovely view of old timber buildings, just needs new bathroom suite but was clean enough .The welcome from this little hotel made us overlook ,Thank u so much for your hospitality 🙂

Stayed one night at the Dandy with friends on the way to the Loire Valley. To be honest I was a little dubious because the hotel was so reasonably priced - but I was pleasantly surprised !. We had lovely rooms at the back of the hotel, rooms were well furnished and well equipped, comfy beds, plus tea and coffee making facilities, also the free WiFi worked well. The guy on reception was very friendly and very helpful. We paid an extra 13 Euros for parking, which was worth it, as the secure parking was right next door to the hotel, and also paid an extra 8 Euros for a dog in one of the bedrooms. Because the hotel is on a pedestrianised road it can be a bit tricky to find, but luckily the hotel sent us directions (Boulevard des Belges then Rue Jean Lecanuet and Rue de Fontenelle). We were told that when you arrive at the bollards you press the "Apel" button and wait for the police to speak and then tell them you are staying at the Dandy. Hotel is in a great location, near to the local sites, loads of restaurants, and a great wine bar right opposite the hotel. There is also a nice cafe on the roundabout with a patisserie nearby where we bought some nice croissants to have with our coffees (they didn't sell croissants in the cafe) I suppose the only downside is that there is no bar or restaurant in the hotel, but as I have said - great wine bar across the road and loads of restaurants in easy walking distance. Definitely recommend Le Dandy for a stopover in Rouen

We chose this hotel for price and location. Arrived by cab but were getting a car. Parking in nearby underground garage for reasonable price (11 Euros for 24 hours). We knew about parking arrangements before arriving. Hotel is clean, well furnished. Our bed was very comfy. Bathroom slightly dated but everything functioned just fine. Our room faced the front - a pedestrian friendly street with half timbered buildings, very convenient to Vieux Marche, restaurants, and sights. I initially thought the rooms might be noisy but we never heard a sound at night so either nearby guests were very quiet or the soundproofing was better than I thought. The rooms don't have individual heat control. A very small soap bar was provided at the sink, bath gel for the shower. Water was hot enough, water pressure fair. There was a hair dryer. There is an annex with additional rooms. We didn't see them. Breakfast was 13 Euros and was OK, canned fruit cup, cold hard boiled eggs, pastry, croissants, breads, yogurt. It's served in a lovely dining room behind reception. The elevator is very tiny - one suitcase at a time fits, but at least you don't have to carry them up the stairs. Vincent, the manager, there most evenings, was very pleasant. He was very helpful with restaurant suggestions, directions, etc. The day reception man was not so pleasant, never a smile or greeting, not too helpful. I was disappointed to see that there was a 1 Euro 50 charge for using the in room coffee machine. When I asked for milk to go with the coffee from this machine, I was told "no". Would I stay here again - absolutely. The quirky little problems were worth the great location and good night's sleep.

I can recommend this little hotel for a good value break in Rouen. It's in a pedestrianised area and sooooo close to the ancient market square and Joan of Arc church. Literally five minutes walk and with a number of very nice restaurants in walking distance. We had a room on the fourth floor all done out prettily in blue Toile De Jour. There's a small lift up there and the room was clean and nicely furnished with an adequate, if small, en suite. Breakfast was a welcome change from the usual cheap French hotel servings. Here we had a choice of healthy wholemeal bread as well as the usual baguette and pastries, healthy muesli instead of just cheap sugary cereals, low sugar jams (unheard of usually), homemade yoghurt and a good selection of cheese and meats. You have to pay extra for the breakfast but we found it well worth it and set us up for the day. The owner was very accommodating, putting a few niggles right as soon as he could even though he was short staffed. We were also able to park our car in the secure underground car park next to the hotel for only 13 euros a day. Good value. Also free Wifi was available in the lobby. Only small downside was that our room overlooked the back of the hotel meaning there was a certain amount of noise from the busy main road that runs there.

Great location, very cosy. XVIII century building, adapted. Staff was very gentil. You can book the parking. Very charming room, nice space, very clean. Breakfast was very good, with local cheeses. The elevator is very tiny and the furniture is antique. Very nice taste, but if you look for modern confort, maybe this is not the place. Very nice view with double windows.

Hotel Le Dandy is a lovely building in the pedestrian area of Rouen. It has on site parking available for a small extra charge which is well worth it as it is underground and secure. The owner is a very helpful chap who assisted us through the confusing access, only a temporary arrangement due to roadworks. The rooms are a reasonable size and very clean. The bathrooms are again reasonable and clean. Hotel Dandy's best feature however is it's location right in the heart of the old town.

An elegant little hotel. Very convenient and central location. There is parking 5 minutes walk away at Vieux-Marché. Nicely decorated and furnished. Surpassed expectations. Good value. Breakfast excellent with good quality fresh cheeses. We were on the 2nd floor and you can hear the busy bar opposite but it closes before midnight and I can not complain as I was in it one night. If I return to Rouen I would stay here.

Lovely little hotel on mostly-pedestrian street Rue Cauchoise. The staff speaks English & very gracious! They have 3 parking spaces in a parking structure right around the corner from the hotel (be sure to reserve in advance!) comfortable room and bed. Breakfast is offered for 12€, but we had places to go and sights to see so we passed. But I would def stay again, highly recommend!

Well located hotel in the city center with public parking nearby. Good room in the main building (seems the annex is not as good) Good breakfast but overpriced Reception closes at 9pm and the street is not very safe late at night.

Excellent hotel. The welcome, the location in the city center close to everything, the rooms and the breakfast, everything is perfect. You are only a few meters from the market square. I highly recommend it. You can visit the city without having to use transport.

The DANDY hotel *** Located in the heart of Rouen, 600 meters walk from the Cathedral. The hotel is located on a street lined with cafes open until 2:00 a.m., fast food, and shops of all kinds. The Dandy hotel *** Beautiful frontage, establishment with an entrance hall furnished with a small reception. Decorated with old books. Its warm reception room main table filled with newspapers available to customers. The elevator on the other hand small designed for 4 people just enough room for 2 people not too strong. The breakfast room, pleasant decor. For a 3 star in terms of services served in buffet mode, the breakfast at the rate per person is 12 euros including tax, a big lack of cold meats. The pastries served are frozen products. On the other hand the bread is fresh. As for the rooms we have, they are 43 and 52. Room 43 on the 4th floor is a very nice room. Small bathroom. Good comfort. Room 52 on the 5th floor to be banned! The room is in the attic of the hotel. Very small, lack of space, small closet, small television…. Its bathroom a little larger than the room needs a refresh. ^^Be careful ^^ When you arrive on site, be absolutely careful that the receptionist does not charge you for your room. If you go through *********** or others. That's what happened to me! Enjoy your stay in this establishment. The 4 stars are for: The Reception, reception lounge, breakfast room and its geography.

Strong point: extremely well located, right in the center of Rouen. All the tourist sites are 5/10 minutes away on foot. Weak points: in its original state. Old hotel. Very small elevator. Wifi works very poorly. Opposite a night bar: light sleepers should abstain

Bad reception. Behind a pleasant reception room, the hotel is not maintained. The cleaning is incomplete and the rooms overlook a night bar with music and terrace ALL NIGHT LONG. Light sleepers should refrain!!
