Our 4th visit to this magic place. Greg and Peter are the perfect hosts. Driving down to the Lodge, the bay opens up in front of you. The lodge has a very limited number of rooms - all spacious and beautifully decorated. It's a feeling of intimacy and personal service. The polished kauri floors, the balconies with views over the bay. Greg and Peter are very discrete - you hardly know they are there - but always available when you need them. The 3 course surprise breakfasts are incredible. This is the place we go to recharge our batteries. We travel a lot internationally - and this rates up there as one of the best places we've stayed.

Arcadia Lodge is a stunning property with amazing views and hosted by 2 guys, Greg and Peter, who just want you to have a fabulous time and will arrange any activity you want to do in the area. Peters breakfasts are to die for and we found lunch wasn’t needed! We stayed 5 nights and found plenty to do in the area. Arcadia Lodge was a great place to relax in the evening if we’d dined out. The house itself has an interesting history and full of character. It is beautifully appointed as was our room. A sundowner on the terrace ( or personal balcony) overlooking the lovely bay is the icing on the cake. We would definitely recommend it if you are in this part of NZ.

The most relaxing getaway with gorgeous views, delicious breakfast and the wonderful town of Russell just a few minutes walk away. Greg and Peter are the perfect hosts and make you feel welcome and at home. The lodge is superbly decorated and just a haven of peace. Their housekeeper Louise is absolutely precious and took such good care of us.

We just had 2 nights at the Arcadia Lodge in Russell. The lodge is very conveniently located to the village centre which made it easy to walk to restaurants etc. We were welcomed by our hosts Peter & Greg who went out of their way to show us around the lodge and assist us with local tips & recommendations. The lodge is old world charm and we had a beautiful room overlooking the bay. Breakfast was delicious, you could not get any better, overall a wonderful stay.special stay in Russell

Greg and Peter gave us such a warm welcome to their peaceful and elegant property. Everything that you could possibly need, was available to you. Greg and Peter are fantastic ambassadors for their area, knowing some wonderful places to visit and where to eat. The breakfasts at Arcadia lodge are beautifully presented, and with home grown produce are so very tasty, a first class way to begin the day. Greg and Peter were also so very helpful in finding me a dentist, after an unfortunate dental mishap prior to my arrival in Russell.

We had a bit of an emergency with our accomodation falling through so finding out Arcadia had a room available felt like the universes sign! It was a lovely stay and Greg and Peter made us feel right at home before we even stepped through the front door! From a beautiful view to delicious breakfast we were absolutely spoilt and loved every second.

DO IT! Arcadia is a 'Lodge', it is an 'Inn'...it's both! You experience a genuine warm welcoming on arrival that sets the mood and satisfaction while you are a guest. Wonderful 3 course breakfast, comfortable room, and the ideal location for short stroll to Russell. Enjoy once, and you will return. Be part of their extended circle of returning guests.

A true Gem!!!!! I loved my time at Arcadia Lodge - it is in a great, quiet location, charming, super clean, with breathtaking water views overlooking the sailboats anchored in Matauwhi Bay from the rooms and the Sundeck. An easy walk to town. Peter and Greg are wonderful hosts. The Breakfast is sooooo delicious!
