Best Hotels in S＇agaro

We just got back from a multi-day family stay at this hotel. We had been on holidays in this area previously but this was our first time at S'Agaro Hotel. The hotel's location is amazing as it's just a few metres away from a lovely beach. The hotel and facilities are nice, clean and very well presented. The staff were all very polite and kind. The breakfast was good quality although a bit repetitive. The price for our say was substantially higher than other similar 4 star hotels in the same area. One good thing was that their rate was cancellable which is why we booked it in the end. If some of the other 4 star hotels in the area had offered cancellable rates, we would have probably gone for a slightly cheaper option than this hotel. The rooms a bit smaller than we hoped for but were adequate and clean. One of the big negatives is about the swimming pool. Although there's a large board stating what is and isn't allowed, this is not monitored by hotel staff and most of the rules are disregarded by guests. For example, eating and drinking in the sunlounges or keeping their dogs with them. More worryingly, plenty of people vaped and smoked in the sunlounges and not just tobacco, judging by the smell, stronger stuff too, which for a family hotel I found very poor. Although access to the hotel's area by car is heavily policed by security guards, accessing the hotel's pool on foot is not controlled at all so we regularly so random people walking in, swimming in the pool and then just leaving the premises without anyone challenging them. This was the case with both a group of local young back-packers and also a group of noisy French guys. None of them disturbed us directly, but I thought it was a bit off putting. In the age of social media, I assume people tell each other that this pool is widely open to anyone and people just use it without being guests at the hotel. We were travelling with children and all this made use feel a bit uneasy in the pool area. The gym is basic and limited in terms of equipment, specially weights. Another negative is with regards to food and drink in the room. We all know that anything from inside the mini-bar is chargeable. However, this is the first hotel I see where they place items like coffee capsules in a table in your room and then charges you for consuming them, at the end of your stay. Finally, I understand the hotel is dog friendly and guests are allowed them in their rooms, however, I wasn't happy to regularly see people taking their dogs to the swimming pool area (not in the water though) and also have them in the outdoor restaurant during breakfast time. In summary, nice hotel in great location, a bit overpriced and needs stronger pool access control policies.

A beautiful week in May. Superb service, very high standards all round.All the staff were faultless. Special mentions to Ingred our breakfast lady, Reception ladies, Patricia and Alejandro, and Albert in charge off the pool areas all superbly over seen by Mr Soreto. Our trip was wonderful….we will be back.

Beautiful modern hotel, right in the centre (although you would ever know, no noise whatsoever). The pool area was lovely, well maintained and very chilled. The staff we all lovely, especially the two young men on reception (didn’t catch their names) who were really helpful when we had a problem with our air conditioning. Breakfast nice with plenty of choice. Get a room over looking the pool, well worth it. 5 minutes to the beach, 1 minute to the start of the Main Street that is full of shops (not touristy ones) and restaurants and bars. Rooms were modern and spotlessly clean. Would recommend this hotel in a flash, great place to stay and the staff are a credit to it.

I’ll start by saying that I’m writing this review whilst still holidaying. We came as a family- a mother, 2 daughters (in 30’s) and 19 month grandchild. We’re all inclusive and we are not picky at all. When reading other reviews of hotels we typically roll our eyes and say ‘you can’t please everyone’ or ‘it’s what you make of it’ so please trust me when I explain this hotel. I’ll start with the positives- the setting is beautiful- pool is overlooking the sea. The food is nice enough, there’s always something to eat, mainly pizza, pasta, chips and salad. (Salad bar is lush) Breakfast is our favourite meal. (There’s cereal, continental, pastries, pancakes, fruit, yoghurt, bacons and eggs etc.) We found the beds comfy for all you only get one pillow, it’s decent. Martin, a waiter, FANTASTIC with the little one. Such a lovely man. He always greets us with a ‘hello love’. Meal times aren’t too bad either- Breakfast 8-10am Lunch 1-2:30pm and Dinner 7-10pm Thinks that’s about it really. It’s centrally located, we attempted to go for an evening meal twice. Everywhere is closed on a Tuesday (and some on Monday too) then places don’t open until 8pm, so with a little one, it’s no good. The hotel. Buckle in! There is a park when you first arrive, which is a death trap. There are little tree stumps sticking up, no bark or sand down, the steps up to the slides have huge gaps in them and the swing is on a wonk- it’s completely unusable. The beach- it’s not sand, it’s shingle, so sharp underfoot. The staff- the most rudest people we have ever met. It’s very much catered towards the French. When ordering a drink in the evening, I was at the bar, the waitress completely ignored me and served a paying Frenchman, after him, she served her colleague doing table service, couldn’t help myself at this point and I said ‘HOLA?!’ She looked at me in utter disgust and continued to serve her colleague. In Spain, you expect (rightly or wrongly) that the majority of people will speak English, basic, enough to get by, but not a word is spoken. I was heavily relying on my Spanish GCSE to get by. (2 male receptionists speak English and that’s it) I naturally really try abroad to understand the basics of their language but have always found English is widely spoken. It describes the hotel as family friendly- it’s not. There is a tiny pool which is full of leaves from the trees above- not well kept at all. The tiles on the floor are not the correct ones- it’s VERY slippy when wet. The pool is FREEZING. They have built in pool steps but no hand rail. No lifeguard either. We had a pushchair- getting down the ramp, it’s practically vertical with some grips missing. If you’re a wheelchair user, you wouldn’t be able to go down alone. Everything is on -1 floor, so a lot of steps involved. The lifts- there are 3 of them- lethal! They close when you’re getting in them, not allowing time at all, and the sensor must be knackered because they don’t open again. We found that

perfect location We were two friends and we loved it because of the magnificent location in the center of Platja Daro and the beach. It is 1 minute walk. And the hotel has parking, but we think it is not useful since there is a place to leave it on the street and the area is good. We have repeated experience. The hotel has many services, animation and nursery, we do not use them but it should be taken into account. It is a hotel that we recommend

Fine hotel, quiet surroundings in autumn, but short enough at the centre. Good breakfast , friendly staff, super wifi, enough parking opportunity, Beautiful beach on a few meters, Located in a neighborhood where almost everything is a t****e house ,and or. apartment is, So think the summer months will be very busy.

First time visiting this hotel and would defiantly recommend people to go. From the first check-in to check out there was nothing one could complain about. The staff were so friendly through all areas of the hotel. There was a great variety of food for everyone and so fresh. The cleanliness was amazing, part of the hotel was cleaned nearly 24 hours per day. The only critic or observation I have is the jacuzzies by the main pool. It was very difficult to enjoy as there were so many children in them and sometimes unsupervised, it would have been nice to use them a little more often. I would like to mention the children. I was dreading going as we normally go on adults only holiday but I must say the children were so good at all time and especially in the restaurants (a big out out to the parents). I would give a 100% for a great holiday and hope to go back next year. Many thanks to all the staff and managers for making our stay so enjoyable. Maureen Tilbury :)
