The hotel was spotless, and we really enjoyed our stay with services like the foot bath, welcome drinks in the lobby, a piano performance upon request in the evening, bus transfers to the illuminated Sado Gold Mine (Kitazawa Flotation Plant), and delicious 'oinarisan' (fried tofu stuffed with sushi rice) as a late-night snack. The breakfast buffet was excellent, offering a great selection of seafood from the Sea of Japan. Unfortunately, it was raining when we viewed the Sea of Japan from the hot spring, which was a shame. But we'd definitely love to come back again.

The open-air bath facing the sea offered amazing views, and the room's location was superb. We really enjoyed the free night tour and piano performance, and the starry sky was beautiful. The breakfast buffet had a fantastic selection of Sado local dishes and sashimi, all of which were delicious. We were absolutely delighted with this hotel!

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for your exceptional kindness and support. Yesterday, we were unfortunately involved in a car accident. The hotel was very understanding and kindly allowed us to reschedule our stay to another day. We were deeply touched by your flexibility and consideration. Today, we experienced another accident in the mountains. During this difficult time, one the staff was incredibly kind and supportive. She helped us communicate and translate with the police, ensuring that we could clearly explain the situation and receive assistance. Her help was truly invaluable in getting us safely rescued. In addition, the hotel manager and staffs generously drove us from the police station back to the hotel and assisted us with the necessary follow-up arrangements. Their patience, compassion, and willingness to go above and beyond their duties meant so much to us. We are truly grateful for the care and support we received. It has been a blessing to be guests at Oosado Hotel, and we will always remember your kindness.

I stayed at Hotel Oosado for one night. Initially, I was very pleased because the front desk staff seemed warm and attentive, and the check-in process was smooth. However, our check-out experience left a deeply negative impression due to a serious lapse in communication and, more importantly, poor customer service. At around 9:00 AM, my friend called the front desk to inquire about the shuttle bus to the port. The staff member simply asked, “Do you need to take the bus?”, to which my friend replied yes. The call ended there, no further questions, no confirmation, no explanation, and crucially, no reservation was made for the shuttle. When we went downstairs to check out at 10:45 AM, we asked where to wait for the bus. Instead of being helped directly by the front desk, a middle-aged woman with short hair — not wearing a uniform or name tag — came out to tell us that we were not on the reservation list and therefore could not use the shuttle. This situation in itself was not a major issue because internal miscommunication happens in any workplace. What was truly disappointing was her attitude. She stood with her arms crossed, showed no courtesy, and did not apologize or acknowledge any responsibility in the first place. When I said it would be better to make sure the staffs double check all the infos they need next time, she just leave. She first suggested we take the bus to Aikawa, which we found unhelpful. Only after we insisted did she arrange for a driver to take us directly to the port. In the end, the problem was resolved — but the poor communication and unprofessional demeanor of this staff member, possibly a manager, significantly damaged my overall impression of the hotel. Small issues are forgivable, but the way staff handle them defines the guest experience. Unfortunately, in this case, the response fell far short of expectations.

The room was incredibly small, the bed was incredibly small and soft, and the window wouldn't open for ventilation. I didn't sleep well the entire night. Dinner was terrible. The half crab they served was incredibly thin, probably a discard.

Osado Seaview Hot Spring Hotel Located on the cape on the southwest side of Sado Island, it has ample parking space and great views. You can enjoy the sunset and the Sea of Japan. The check-in staff is friendly and detailed, and there are many special services that can be reserved. There are welcome drinks in the lobby from 3pm to 6pm, local cultural performances at 7:15pm, free shuttle buses to the Sado Kinzan ruins to enjoy the light show at 8pm or 9:30pm, and free midnight snacks (Inari sushi) at 10pm. Quite a variety of resources, you can come to the lobby to use/reservation if you need. This time I stayed in a tatami room. Although there is no own shower space, the space is very spacious and should be able to accommodate up to six people. Some facilities look a little old, but small places are still noticed, such as small stickers for writing names on slippers, new heating kettles for snacks and drinks, and multiple USB connectors for charging extension cords, which are very considerate. The mattress will be laid in the evening, and it feels older. Some quilts feel a bit old, and the pillows only feel hard and a bit flat. The air conditioning in the room is a little inconvenient to adjust. Sometimes it is too hot and sometimes it is too cold. I have to get up and adjust it again when I go to bed at night. It is recommended to update the air conditioning system. The public hot spring is on the first floor. There are not many people around 6 or 7 o'clock in the evening and around 9 o'clock on weekends. There are semi-open-air hot spring pools, oven saunas, and water baths. Towels are provided, so you don't have to bring your own. There are also many shampoos to choose from, and the lotions and cleaning products provided are also very good👍🏻 The breakfast options are very diverse, with many local ingredients (Sado milk🥛, Sado fried yellowtail, etc.) The most recommended seafood bowl🍱, you can freely match salmon, tuna, fresh shrimp, salmon* and other seafood, very delicious! The restaurant staff are also very friendly.

The location was very good, and the staff were generally friendly. But the food was not tasty. I was recommended to buy some Niigata rice, especially Sado rice, because it's delicious, but the rice tasted terrible. Maybe it wasn't cooked properly. It looked good, though. The rice sold at restaurants in town was delicious. But this is what I expected for 50,000 yen per person during the Obon festival...
