Very enjoyable visit and reasonably priced meals for a Ryokan. I had a great time with the private bath and recommend other visitors to arrange transportation with the hotel since a pickup from them is available at a nearby bus stop.

Good service and meal. Very unique location beside the sea. Unforgettable bath experience in this hotel. Good to come.

Very nice hotel, spacious rooms & good meals!

A nice resort with sea great view. Remarkable the big garden with the paths to the sea shore. Also the onsen is very nice. The room was spacious and equipped with beds (not futon). As entertainment they organize free trips in the evening to the ruins of a plant from the gold rush times, where they display a beautiful illumination. Also some ladies perform local traditional dances in the hotel lobby, as well as a Saxophone player gave a half hour performance. However, after the performances were finished, the bar became deserted and no further service available. All in all a comfortable stay.

The biggest surprise of this trip to Niigata was Sado Island, and the biggest surprise of Sado Island was this hotel. Upon arrival, I was immediately struck by the hotel's view. The blues of the grassy shoreline were breathtaking. From pre-check-in to check-out, I felt the hotel's attentiveness and genuine care. Since my child doesn't eat raw food or seafood, I emailed the hotel staff before check-in and they said we could choose the ¥11,000 option for the child, replacing the seafood and cold dishes with meat, while we chose the ¥14,850 adult set menu. That evening, no one confirmed this, but at dinner, the child's set menu, including sashimi, puffer fish hot pot, and grilled fish, was replaced with tempura, pork hot pot, fried chicken, potato salad, and beef. The preparation was truly meticulous. The hotel offers a free shuttle bus every evening at 8:00 and 8:30 to visit the Kitazawa Floating Mine Site's illuminated display. Upon return, there's a local Sado Island song and dance performance and saxophone music. You can also sign up for beachfront yoga at 7:00 AM. Fishing rods are available for rental. There's a wealth of activities. After checking out, we went to the beachfront lawn in front of the hotel to take photos. The driver was helping us take a family photo. The lady at the entrance, perhaps thinking a family member was missing from the photo, ran out onto the lawn and offered to take a photo with us. Their service was exceptional. Perhaps due to the color palette, the room interior and exterior look dated in the website photos. In reality, they were brand new, clean, and spacious and comfortable. The hotel's exquisite views and attentive service made the entire stay a perfect experience and left us with unforgettable memories.

We stayed in a shiny new room after renovation. The newly renovated room we stayed in was not ready for a bathtub, so we only had a shower in the room. They were kind enough to offer us the outdoor bath, which is usually paid for, for free, so we went to the outdoor bath ♨️ However, the building for the paid outdoor bath was about 100 meters away from the hotel itself, and the system involved moving around outside without a roof in room slippers and a yukata. It was a blizzard outside that day, and the snow was sticky under our feet... It was dark outside, and we were given a small lantern, so we walked in the dark, into the snow. On the way to the outdoor bath in the rain... my slippers suddenly got stuck in the cold mud and both my feet were soaked 😱 cold 🥶 The outdoor bath itself was a beautifully constructed bath ♨️ built in a separate location, with a spectacular view below, but on the way back, of course, both my room slippers and feet got stuck in the cold, snow-covered mud and sand, and they were squishy, ​​squishy, ​​icy 🥶 and rattling :(；ﾞﾟ'ωﾟ'): I immediately went into the large public bath in the main hotel building to warm up my cold body again. I think it's a building built 100 meters away from the main hotel building, with the outdoor bath as the priority, with a view in mind, so I felt it would be more valuable to make it possible to move there safely and comfortably. For example, renting out rain boots on rainy or snowy days... installing footlights to guide the way to the open-air bath♨️ building... I think information about the special open-air bath♨️ (for a fee) is a must. It's a real shame considering it's such a great facility.

酒店的工作人員非常熱情，户外温泉也很舒服。超美的落日景觀。餐廳的晚餐需要預約，食物很不錯。可以跟酒店約公交車站接送，非常方便。晚間還有免費的燈光秀接駁，大堂有傳統舞蹈表演。非常好的選擇。

This Japanese style resort claims to have the "western-most sunsets in Japan" and we have to agree they were lovely. The hotel property is perched on the Sea of Japan, and there is NOTHING nearby besides scenery. No restaurants, bar, etc. BE FOREWARNED: YOU MUST RESERVE DINNER 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE OR YOU GET NOTHING !!!! We arrived late afternoon on our first night's stay and were told there were no options for us to eat except order a taxi into town or buy snacks from the on-site gift shop or vending machine. Thankfully the vending machine had cold beer and bags of bar snack. Otherwise the staff were wonderful; some English and very accommodating. The room was lovely. You got to pick your own yukata/kimono (in the lobby area) for wearing to the public onsen or to dinner if you like. The onsen was nice, but we could have used a bit of instruction on how to best use this public mineral hot springs bathing facility. The room also came with a private shower and tub. Breakfasts were traditional Japanese (lots small dishes of various foods); dinners (if reserved 24-hours prior) were also traditional Japanese. Everything was quite delicious, but just TOO much food. And it's rude to leave anything, so we tried hard to finish it all. Great resort to get a fully immersive Japanese experience. All guests are treated like royalty. Would recommend IF you have your own car or can work with Japanese-speaking taxi drivers.
