Driftwood Spars

The good parts: This is an exceptional location in Cornwall and the hotel makes it easy with excellent parking, well organised on arrival with your number plate on a reserved spot. We had an evening meal and the food was very nice, however IMO it was extremely expensive for what it was, so be prepared for that. There are other places locally to eat, so well worth looking around. The staff are pleasant and try their absolute best for you. The not so good are the rooms. Our original room was ok, however the shower broke on first use and after some attempt to fix, eventually I had to move rooms late on into the evening. The original room had a terrible mattress and was overdue an upgrade. The new room was a horrible location next to a small micro brewery that made loads of noise when it opened in the morning. The room was tired and the mattress slightly better than first room, but honestly needed replacing. The bathroom wasn't very clean, dirty tiles and cobwebs everywhere. Generally, everything needed a good clean and update. Breakfast, again the food was very nice, although had to ask for just about everything to be replaced, i.e. fruit, juice, cutlery etc... Also dirty tea cups, by which time couldn't be bothered to ask to be replaced. Loved the day by the beach and would return to visit St Agnes, but wouldn't go back to Driftwood Spars.

We stayed for 3 nights, accommodation was basic but clean, smart TV had Netflix etc so fab for when we had to put the baby to sleep and just chill. Live music 2 of the nights, great if that's what you want but also couldn't hear it at all from the bedroom which was super important with a baby. Food was exceptional, the young woman on the breakfast shift our first 2 nights was so attentive, tall chap with short dark hair behind the bar couldn't do enough for us and the lady that seemed to be the manager / owner was brilliant, the rest of the staff also great but they were standout Food was exceptional the whole time, we had breakfast every day a lunch and 2 early dinners during our stay, all were excellent quality. Fantastic beer too! All in all, not our usual thing, but had an absolutely fantastic time regardless, thank you!

We had our wedding at Driftwood Spars and wow — what a fantastic venue! Nestled in Trevaunance Cove in the beautiful village of St Agnes, Driftwood Spars is a stunning pub, restaurant, hotel, and wedding venue all in one. It’s the perfect size for an intimate wedding, comfortably accommodating between 50 and 100 guests. We had originally hoped to hold our ceremony in the beautiful cliffside garden, but unfortunately the weather had other plans. However, the wedding coordinators, Meg and Anna, were absolutely incredible. They transformed the Seaview Bistro into a gorgeous ceremony space and then quickly turned it around for the wedding breakfast seamlessly. The food was outstanding from start to finish — from the canapés to the three-course meal and evening buffet. Tom, the head chef, was extremely accommodating to our needs and absolutely smashed it. The whole day was everything we dreamed of and more, and that was entirely down to the amazing staff. Liam, the duty manager, was always so helpful, and every member of staff went above and beyond to make the day special. Our guests have all commented on how friendly, welcoming, and attentive everyone was. We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better wedding venue or team to celebrate our special day with.”

Great quality Sunday lunch. We've been two Sundays in a row and both times the meals have been excellent. Two veggie choices which makes a nice change. Personally I've had the roast beef and slow roasted pork belly, both really tasty. The choice of vegetables was also very well done. Alongside their own brewery ales, friendly service and a lovely setting by Trevaunance Cove what more can you ask for?

A faultless stay after an amazing Faulty Towers Dining Experience. A full Cornish breakfast eaten looking out over the waves rolling in to Trevaunance Cove. We will certainly be back for another event and would anyway recommend for a Winter Storm Watching stay

I have stayed at Driftwood for four times already. I would really recommend the rooms and the excellent service. The location could not be better - the beach is fantastic for surfing and cliff top walks.

Wow. What a place, up there with the best sea food ever. Accommodation comfy and clean. Great all year round to visit and stay

This was rather disappointing. On the positive, it is in a beautiful area and you can walk out straight onto the coast path.... Easy car park, friendly staff, food was well cooked....but it was expensive, the sea view was distant over a large flat roof,and the mattress has definitely seen better days.

Popped in the Crib Shack for ice creams while walking the SWCP it’s a lovely area and the refreshments were welcomed. Didn’t use the pub other than for the loo but it looked inviting with a good range of beers. The menu did appear expensive for pub food.
