Booked through Priceline , price line doesn’t state anywhere while booking that children are not allowed at the inn under 12 . So we booked the room and then we received a email from the inn stating their policies and one being no children under 12 . Priceline submitted a cancellation request to the inn to have them accept the cancellation. I called the inn to let them know that Priceline had sent a cancellation request over to them . The man at the inn said he will not accept cancellation request because they are a small company that will loose money . The Inn said that no one will book same day which is a lie because I booked about a hour ago . The inn was willing to make a exception this time telling me my kids cant make any noise . If anyone has kids that are young that is not a promise any parent can make . All this Inn only cares about money . This blame fell on Priceline’s mistake but the fact the Inn is so money hungry and willing to keep my money is a shady business move . They didn’t care that their Inn is falsely advertised on Priceline either he said that’s not their problem . This is probably not a common thing that has happened so the Inn should have done the right thing and canceled the reservation.

Based on previous reviews I really expected a different experience. I attempted to email the Inn my concerns before posting on Trip Advisors but after a week I have received no replies. I went for a night with my best friend to celebrate my birthday. St. Augustine is a short trip from my home city and I love getting away there frequently. I always book BnBs for my lodging. I doubt I would ever come back to the Charlotte unfortunately. There was a critical lack of hospitality and inn keeper engagement in guest satisfaction. The jets on the spa tub did not operate but I was not given a chance in person to address this. Breakfast was less than satisfying. Rubbery microwave sausages are not in line with BnB quality. The fruit was fresh and the croissant was nice. However, it was very over all lack luster. I don't want to end on a negative note so I will say room itself was clean and the balcony lovely. Inn was a comfortable temperature.

This place has a great location, just one small block from George Street. The room that we stayed is about the size of a hotel. It was clean, the bed was comfortable. We only had an issue at the beginning because it smell, not sure if it was moth balls or humidity, but anyways, we left the door open for a bit and that fixed it. Besides that the shower was great, it had a separate room for the toilet. The access is convenient with code lock. It had a small balcony where you could seat and listen to the performers or watch people walking by. I do recommend it, specially if you want to spend more time checking out everything that this area has to offer. The staff is nice and communicative.

Marlo was very accommodating. Room was comfortable. Parking was right outside our room. We were able to easily walk to local restaurants and main area of St. Augustine. Breakfast was excellent. We plan to return for a Christmas vacation in December

My husband and I personally host two Airbnbs that have only received 5 star reviews. The reasons we have received 5 star reviews are the same reasons that I would give The Inn On Charlotte an overall 5 star review. The Inn On Charlotte is not posh--but what they do well, they do really well. Therefore, I would highly recommend The Inn On Charlotte for the following reasons: Location--A+ Bed Comfort--A+ Bed Linens--A+, Attentive Staff--A+ **Extra --the breakfast--it was $15 per person--not included in our rate--however it was good; excellent coffee; excellent service. Enjoy your stay!!

Excellent Location on one of the main streets in town. Easy walking distance to shops, and restaurants and the Fort. I would not stay here again. No one is in the building if you have a question. Ice machine in lobby, no water. I expected more for the price, you pay a premium for staying in town and I understand that, but this was not cute or quaint or lovely. Bed linen was clean and beds were comfortable. No coffee maker or fridge in the room and breakfast is not served until 9am which is too late in my opinion. Breakfast is in the building next door, in a very tiny room, I would not recommend bringing children here, tiny tables for 2 and lots of crystal glasses!!! No choice for breakfast either, and breakfast was average, nothing special. Parking was included in a nearby lot, when we arrived a huge pick up truck was in our designated spot. A kind gentlemen who has some affiliation with the B&B told me to park in another spot and helped us back in as it is very tight! He told us he would tell the B&B and when we checked in he had. When we went back later to get something out of the car, we needed to pull forward to open the trunk, on backing up again, our car had become stuck in the sand and would not budge! We tried placing gravel etc to get the tires to grip and move but nothing worked. I called the B&B and asked if the next day someone might be able to help push us out. The owner was less then helpful on the phone, offering no help or solution. A local resident had seen our dilemma and come over to chat to see if she could help, she said this had happened countless times before, the gentlemen that had helped us park earlier re-appeared and tried to assist. The B&B owner called him as evidently he could see what was going on on cameras and tried to see if his car insurance would pull us out. In the end after hours of wasted time and frustration, the lovely local resident called a tow company she knew and they pulled us out for $100. So we spent $400 for a below average B&B stay in St Augustine and did not get to enjoy most of it as we were trying to release the car for an early morning departure.

4 nights · June 2024 Couple Reviewed: June 16, 2024 Handy to everything, with a few minor issues. Pros: The room had a nice mattress which allowed for a great nights sleep. The shower in our room was outstanding. The A/C & WIFI worked perfectly. Breakfast served daily was nice. The Inn is close to everything you would want to see. There are many first class restaurants within a 10 minute walk. The owner / manager could not have been more hospitable. Just a wonderful person. Cons: Room #8 was very small. It's not in the Inn, but in a remote building on the second floor. Not like other rooms at this Inn based on the photos listed on the website. If I had to take this room again I would not go back. There was no closet or bureau and we were there for 4 nights living out of suitcases on the floor. There is an outdoor club next door with a rock & roll band which plays until about 10PM. The Inn is made up of numerous buildings and many rooms, like room #8, many have exterior entrances. There is very little parking on site so you must carry your bags from the dirt parking lot, about 400-500 feet away.

Pro: location. It is right where you want to be in historic downtown and an easy walk to food and shopping. .. that's all the "pros" I have for you. My cons list kept growing throughout our stay. First, we were supposed to receive a text that would give us important information about our stay, but we never got that. We didn't learn about said text until the next morning . I referred to the email I received. It said breakfast was at 9:15. We woke up and left our room around 10:15 only to discover we missed it. Evidently, breakfast began around 8:00am. We weren't aware of this, and the email didn't include that information. We only discovered this because we stopped to ask a couple we ran into that were packing up and about to leave. (Who by the way booked a room with the Inn on Charlotte but were put up in the adjacent b&b instead. I think it's called the Hemingway House). Also, the email said that wifi is included and that we would be able to find the login info on a framed piece of paper on the nightstand. Our room did not have that. I saw the wifi stuff plugged into the outlets, but we did not have access to it. We stayed in room 7, the bungalow. It was described as " recently renovated " and boy was it ever. It must have been a DIY because there were screw holes left in the walls, and no attempt was made at covering the old towel holder holes in the toilet area. It was all merely painted over. The room has a small TV mounted in the corner. Great. I turn on the TV and the screen doesn't work. I could hear the audio of the show, but there was just black on the screen. My husband unplugged the TV and plugged it back in, which fixed the problem, but it shouldn't be something you have to do. I tried emailing customer service but received no reply. I will say that the shower was awesome. Good water pressure and spray nozzles. We ran into someone who worked there and shared the lack of info and misinformation. He was kind and said he would speak to his supervisor and give us a call about getting a partial refund. We never received a call. I am still seeking a partial refund. I have emailed them 2x but all I get is the automated "leave a review" email. I do not get any responses to my emails so obviously customer service is not a priority.

This Inn is perfectly located in old town St Augustine. The accommodations were great, room was spacious and comfortable. Enjoyed the breakfast and especially people watching on the front porch. Will definitely book this Inn again and again!!

We stayed in Anne’s Hideaway, A very small room with an odd array of furniture that made it seem even smaller. The shower stall is in a separate alcove; you have to hang your towels on hooks in the room. The toilet and small sink are in a separate space with no place to put your toiletries. There is no closet, just an odd “ antique” structure with a storage box at the bottom and a bar across the top with 3 hangers provided and some pegs. You are charged a $15 per day cleaning fee but we only got service if we asked for it. Breakfast was okay but not great, well below any B and B we’ve stayed at before; rather small portions and little variety. While other rooms may be better than this one, I don’t recommend Anne’s Hideaway, especially if your stay is more than a day or two; there is very little space for suitcases.

We had a very relaxing stay at this charming B&B. The staff were very welcoming and made us feel like family. Still reminiscing about the fruit dishes in the two course breakfasts. The decanted wine in the evening was a special touch. The bed was super comfortable and the room was spotless. Highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast.

While the location of the Inn On Charlotte is excellent, the customer service is non existent. Be aware there is a daily $15 room cleaning fee. My room was never cleaned. There was no one to speak to about having the room cleaned. As I was checking out, the manager was at the front desk. It was the first time I had seen her. I asked that the fee be removed from my bill as the room had never been cleaned. She did not care in the slightest and basically said too bad. The lack of customer service and lack of on site personnel left a very bad impression. I would not stay there again despite the good location.

Pros: comfortable bed, great location, lovely balcony, nice breakfast with courteous hostess Cons: tight parking, no one at check-in desk--you could only speak to someone on the phone, late breakfast ( not served until 9, 830 at earliest), no complimentary waters in room, unable to get printed receipt at checkout for total charges and no one at check-in desk to assist

Lovely room, comfortable bed, bathtub with jets, great way to relax after a day of walking around the Ancient City. Breakfast started the day right. The Inn on Charlotte is perfectly located - step outside and you are in the heart of historic downtown St. Augustine. It doesn't get any better than that.
