Quiet spot bedroom and bathroom clean. Food amazing it really was. Recommend. The only gripe if you could call it that is that the bedroom was too hot!!,

Myself and my fiancee went to the griffin Inn St helens for a meal yesterday 25th of November ,we had the festive set meal menu. The food was terrible,both meals were lukewarm,the sprouts were like ball bearings,my fiancée's potatoes might as well have been rocks,the waitress noticed and asked if everything was OK, my fiancee showed her the problem with the potatoes and she replaced them with more rocks,the whole meal was processed food and came straight from the microwave, my meal was also lukewarm with a vegetarian pie that was completely tasteless,the soup which was also barely warm and just about covered the bottom of the dish with the tiniest thinnest slice of dry bread I'd ever seen,the only thing that was remotely edible were the desserts;the waitress called sian, was a nice young woman polite and friendly ,I don't expect to pay over £60 and be served such ghastly food,we will not be going to the griffin for a long long time after this. I booked for my mum's 60th birthday meal for a large group. Booked well in advance, no mention of pre ordering food or a deposit. Until a few days before when I got an email asking for pre orders, I then had to rush around asking people! I drove up the day before with balloons, cake and things for the table. Arrived at correct booking time, table wasn't ready we were told to wait outside the toilets it was very busy and we were stood there a good ten mins in everybody's way. Told the table was ready so went round and no balloons, table cloth or any birthday things I dropped off on the table. Asked where there were staff was unsure then came round and gave me a bag, very disappointed. Food we were told to pre order took hours to come, my son had fallen asleep before mains came out, and they got the order wrong! Staff tried their best but I felt they didn't have the right skills to deal with how many bookings had been taken, and to be honest our event was ruined due to this.

Fire alarms went off at 1.30 am hotel unmanned on a evening pretty much left to our own devices to evacuate and call the fire brigade

My wife and I Stayed one night here. The food was ok but not worth what they charge.
We were in bedroom number 1 and the room was ok but radiator was full of fluff and the wallpaper was falling off behind it.
The bed was terrible.
We got no sleep as the mattress was horrible. So hard and uncomfortable that we were so sore and backache aswell.
Not good at all.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Do not book with this hotel, I had a room booked through *********** and messaged the hotel I was arriving later in the evening this was completely ignored, when I arrived at the hotel there was no staff on site and after trying to call them and receiving no answer I had to go and stay at my parents house. I was lucky I was booking to come see family and not to a city I didn’t know anyone or would have been sleeping in the car with my partner! I then politely messaged the hotel for a refund which was again ignored and then messaged *********** for them to contact the hotel for a refund which they ignored *********** as well As I couldn’t put up the pictures from the hotel I have added screenshots of the ignored messages insted 0 customer service from this hotel

Stayed one night whilst visiting family. A great basic room overlooking the car park. Had a modern bathroom with small shower. Basic tea and coffee making facilities. The pub and restaurant downstairs served great food and drinks. Lots of free parking and easy to get in and out of.

Car park has around 20/30 spaces which got full quick as it is a busy pub. Rooms very clean and spacious

The service was absolutely rubbish. Waited over an hour and half for food.
On my second night i couldn't get food from the pub ( had to grab a sandwich from local shops)
Didn't bother staying the third night.
