Dolphin Beach Resort

St Pete Beach - Long Key Saint Pete Beach|0.26km from city center
We LOVED this resort, so we think it comes down to what you prefer and what you are expecting. This resort is charming. Yes, a little older, so if you are looking for fancy and modern, this is not it. We loved the decor, which seems like it has been updated at some point, very colorful and a bit latin in feel, but also a bit nostaligic-retro-ish, maybe like 60's without seeming that old. Since we love visiting places like Cocoa Beach with that throwback feel, this was a plus for us. We originally booked a standard room with a discount booking agent, but when we arrived we had saved more money and splurged for a balcony on the poolside--and we will do that again for SURE. In fact, this is our new favorite place to visit. We came the week after students went back to school, so the beach was not hugely populated, and we had a lovely, mostly quiet stay. We were looking for escape and rest by the ocean for the first time since the pandemic, so all we needed was clean, affordable, not gross, next to the ocean, able to feel the breezes, and that is what we got! Note: They do not clean the rooms every day, but every few days, but they will replace any items you need upon request. We appreciated the eco-friendly aspect of this! Plusses: -Affordable -walking distance to shopping center and various restaurants and bars -check out the freebee e-cart taxi that will pick you up next to hotel and take you nearly anwhere in St. Pete! -bus stop/trolley stops next to or across from hotel -we encountered a margarita special in the restaurant the first day that seems to happen often -Kitchenette with microwave and refridgerator -Beach literally right outside. (Non-canopied lounge chairs are free, but chairs with covers will have a charge) -Beautiful landscaping Potential downsides- -Not fancy or modern -no breakfast provided, though there is a restaurant on property as well as a pool bar that serves food, too -Not totally sure of the restaurant hours? They often looked closed. We never ate there, as it seemed a bit expensive for what we were interested in getting We are literally looking for the next opportunity to go back, and this is where we want to stay. There was something so charming about it, and the service was great.

The Hotel Zamora

St Pete Beach - Long Key Saint Pete Beach|1.33km from city center
My boyfriend surprised me with a staycation for our anniversary at Hotel Zamora. The hotel is located across the street from the beach and has water views from both sides of the building since it sits on a bayou. The hotel is located further down the St. Pete beach strip, which is nice because the traffic can be hectic closer to all of the hustle and bustle. It took us just a few minutes to walk to the beach, 5 minutes max. We noticed fairly quickly that the building itself looked more like a beach condo than a hotel -- but we both have over a decade in the hospitality industry. First, the pool is located on the back of the property overlooking the bayou which is very pretty, but you have to walk through the parking garage to get to the pool. The other somewhat odd but also kind of cool thing is the way the hotel room entrances are set up -- there are two hotel rooms behind one ”front door” entrance and the front doors are pretty spread out which is more condo-like than a hotel. The concept is pretty cool if you need both rooms as you can have both individual room doors open without having the doors opened up directly into the hallway of the hotel. The room itself was HUGE! There was so much space. It was wonderful. The shower was a nice size and had a very tall rain shower in addition to another more powerful shower head. The thing I loved the most about the bathroom was the small nightlight built into the wall which provided the perfect amount of light for middle of the night use. The highlight of the room, at least in my opinion was the bed. It was SO comfortable -- I woke up the next morning and decided pretty quickly that I wanted another hour of sleep because I could not believe how comfortable I was and how well I had slept. We ate lunch and had an evening snack at the restaurant. Lunch: I had the Z Salad with Grilled Chicken and my boyfriend had the Pan Roasted Airline Chicken Breast, and we shared the Truffle Fries. We both enjoyed our meals. My boyfriend especially loved the chicken dish. Snack: We had spent the majority of the evening on a sailboat and were hungry but not starving when we got back to the hotel around 8:30 pm so we stopped in the restaurant to grab a bite to eat. My boyfriend decided on the Chicken Wings and I opted for dessert -- the Chocolate Orange Tart was divine! It had a cookie crust with hints of sea salt and pistachios. YUM! We aren't big drinkers but since we were celebrating our anniversary, we both got one drink. He had the ”build your own” Old Fashioned -- Knob Creek, Orange Bitters, and Honey and I had the Big Storm Brewing Coconut Coffee Porter which went perfectly with the Chocolate Orange Tart. One space we didn't really get to spend much time on was the rooftop bar but since we are local, we knew we could come back another time. The SELLING point for the hotel is this rooftop -- there is a huge bar area with tons of seating on the gulf facing side and then a smaller space for events on t

Hilton Garden Inn St. Pete Beach

St Pete Beach - Long Key
This hotel provides a 5-star resort experience. The property is well manicured and maintained with a beautiful pool and pool area and easy access to the beach along with complimentary beach cabanas. The well-furnished rooms are modern, well appointed, with ample space and are spotless. Next to the pool area is a fun Tiki Bar with a shaded lounge area and live entertainment. The hotel's Bar and Grill is casual, and modern with a variety of unique menu choices. Above all, what really stands out is the exceptional friendliness, courtesy and service of the entire hotel staff from maintenance to front desk, with a special shout out to Latrice (front desk) who was exceptionally helpful. Living in Florida we spend many a ”staycation” on St. Pete Beach, and you can be certain that the Hilton Garden Inn St. Pete Beach will be our go-to St. Pete Beach destination.

Took a while to write this review, but, what a great time we had at the RUMFISH hotel on ST PETE BEACH. Everything went perfectly. From check in to check out, a great stay. We had a beautiful view from our room. It's amazing how they can keep these rooms so clean with all the wind and sand. The folks in HOUSEKEEPING certainly earned their keep with us. Sand is like a magnet to me! We sampled the bars downstairs and next door. Quite a few sunset pictures taken from these locations. Bartenders are extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. Met quite a few locals who love this place. Finally, a word for the FRONT DESK STAFF. They must hire trained psychologists! These folks know how to handle a crowd! I saw a cranky couple smoothed over by the FRONT DESK MANAGER who got them on their way with a smile. I personally don't have that type of patience. We will be back and hopefully, some of our friends will join us.

It is very friendly and considerate. The only thing need to be aware is the room floor tile can be slippery even when it is dry.

Only real complaint is the front desk attendant Steve. Being the only person in line while the other clerk was helping a customer in-front of me instead of helping me check in he decided it was more important to run around talk poorly of his other co-workers and do busy work. While waiting patiently he finally greeted me after standing there for 20 minutes that he would “be with me soon”. After waiting another 10-15 minutes he was ready to “help me” if you would even call it that. He started the check in process couldn’t remember my name after he asked three times what the reservation name was under walked off twice without saying anything and then would come back and ask the same questions finally the second time the front desk manager stepped in and finished the process as well as offering two free drinks I’m sure because she could see the frustration in my face. Was a horrible start. Although Steve ruined the beginning of the stay the hotel and amenities and rest of the staff were amazing, so friendly and on top of things. Loved the location and set up of the hotel!
