Reviews of Cosmos St. Petersburg Olympia Garden Hotel

The room is comfortable and quiet, with good soundproofing. The waiter came in every day to clean, replenish water and make the beds. There is no toothpaste or toothbrush in the room, but you can ask for them at the front desk. There is a small green park behind the hotel, surrounded by commercial streets and a few minutes away from the subway station. It only takes half an hour to walk to the Neva River. The hotel's breakfast is very rich. Although there are not many varieties, it is enough.

It is equivalent to the domestic all-seasons hotel ~ The geographical location is very suitable, not too far from the city center, airport, and exhibition hall. The high-rise building faces west and north and can see the landmark building. The sanitation, hot water, air conditioning, and breakfast are all in line with the positioning.

Former Sokos hotel . The interior of the rooms is really heartwarming as it reminds me of some mid century design. The Finnish brand is well recognized by using natural wood in the interior. Very friendly staff , wonderful reception , good location. I only stayed for one night so I couldn’t take in all the Hotel had to offer . But its seemed very nice .

The hotel is not bad, the same as the breakfast. Only one thing shocked me because I’ve never been in such situations before. Day of check-out. I was packaging my suitcase in the room, the staff called me from the reception and told me to go out. I told them that I would leave in a couple of minutes. After 10 minutes I went down to the reception desk, the woman from the reception didn’t want to check out me and demanded that I pay 4,000 rubles more for the room. Of course, I was against it and did not want to pay extra for the fact that I stayed at the room a little longer than expected. I had no choice, the woman from the reception desk demanded that I pay 4 thousand rubles for a new day… just because I left the room 10 minutes after the call from the reception…

The hotel is extremely uncomfortable. The staff are rather unkind. My wife and I ordered a double room and the room included two single beds joined together and two separate blankets, we asked to change them but they responded that they don’t have such. All floors smell urine as well as all towels and bedsheets in the room. Their breakfast is absolutely funny as it only includes two types of eggs and some fried ham. They don’t have a coffee machine in the restaurant. We strongly disliked it.

I was greeted with a suspension about COVID test. The woman created so much drama. Basically told me to go get a new COVID test only then could I stay. I felt it was hilarious to be placing such demands. I was like, hey, I am giving you business, you should not be treating your guest like this. Needless to say, I walked away and went to another hotel. Didn't face this kind of stupidity from the staff at the other hotel

Was there for 6 days in December 2023. Standard room. Overall, I was disappointed because, having studied the reviews and based on the popularity of the network, I expected more. More coziness, comfort and care first of all. But I didn't get this. Alas. First, about the advantages. The location is convenient. 5 minutes to the metro station Technological Institute. There is a bus stop very close. I can’t say that there are an abundance of cafes and restaurants in the immediate vicinity. Dinner was difficult. But overall the area is beautiful and lively. At the same time, the hotel is in a quiet location. In the room I liked the warm floor in the bathroom and thick curtains. Now about what I didn't like. Bed. In fact, it’s not even a bed, but a trestle bed made from a pile of mattresses, which sways under you and while you sleep, the mattresses spread out in different directions. I felt like a sprat on a multi-layer sandwich. Above the bed on the ceiling exactly in the middle of the room, a red light flashes 24 hours. They said it couldn't be turned off - it was a fire alarm. This is the first time I've seen this. You lie on the bed - it blinks. I didn't like the breakfast. Yes, there is a fireplace in the hall. It's been burning since morning. And the hall as a whole is beautiful. And yes, they serve champagne. For breakfast. But what I expect from breakfast, first of all, is the enjoyment of food, which did not happen. 6 days the same dishes: even hot dishes and porridges do not change. Not even the bread is tasty. And in general there is no particular variety of bread and pastries. Pre-cooked eggs, 2 types. Sausage 3 types. Well, you won't remain hungry for sure. But I've read a lot of reviews about great breakfasts. I was disappointed. The water in the shower barely flows in a thin trickle. I understand, apparently this is saving resources. But it’s problematic to wet my head with such a stream, and then I spend the same amount of water due to the duration of the procedures. Showering like this is not fun. But of course you can perform hygiene procedures. In general, there was a feeling that no one cared and this was some kind of temporary residence: I crawled in, rested, and went about my business. So in principle it is, of course. But in a hotel and even 4*, as it is positioned, I would like more coziness, comfort and hospitality.

I really liked the hotel. Located in a convenient location, not far from the metro. I stayed in a standard room. The room is spacious, comfortable bed, clean linen and towels. The room has a refrigerator, kettle, safe. It was very cozy. The view from the window is not very good, but this is not important in principle. The buffet is excellent - 5+.
