Ambassador Hotel

Quiet, comfortable, and clean room. Polite service. The breakfast was luxurious, and the restaurant offered a magnificent view of the rooftops. In the mornings, champagne and cheeses are served. I enjoyed the spa, although the pool was a bit small and sometimes crowded.

Good location, within walking distance to all attractions. However, there's one important note: starting from May, the swimming pool requires an extra fee! It's not included in the room rate anymore! This wasn't the case before... breakfast

Check-in was seamless, and most of the staff spoke English, so communication was a breeze. The hotel is a bit older, but the facilities are well-maintained. As a solo traveler, staying here for 9 consecutive days was an absolutely comfortable choice. The subway station is just a few steps away, and there are supermarkets, various restaurants, and multiple bus stops nearby. There's also a park right across the street. All in all, it's incredibly convenient for solo travel... Plus, it's not on the main street, so it's very quiet and not noisy at all. Rooms on the 8th floor can be a bit noisy because floors 9 and 10 house functional service areas. When checking in, you might want to request a lower-floor room! This stay truly left me with wonderful memories... I hope to have the chance to visit again in the future~ The room looked almost exactly like the pictures provided by the hotel. The review photos show breakfast, some interior and exterior views of the hotel on the first floor, and all the scenery within a five-minute walk of the hotel.

Pay attention to the room rates, as they fluctuate. The breakfast was excellent, and they even had champagne. I stayed for five nights and never got tired of it. The room wasn't large but it was clean, free of any strange odors, and I couldn't hear any noise from next door. I didn't see any Chinese tour groups. During the day, there was always a tall, handsome guy at the front desk, standing ramrod straight, with excellent English. He was always helpful and found ways to assist with any issues. The only problem was that the toilet seat was a bit high. For anyone under 170cm with shorter legs, you can fold up the bed runner and put it under your feet.

The hotel is in a superb location. The bus stop is right nearby, and the metro is just a 5-minute walk away 😊, which gives you the chance to stroll along the beautiful central streets. The breakfast is good, they serve unlimited champagne 🤪, and the views from the 9th floor are simply mesmerizing and stunning. All historical buildings are within walking distance, and Nevsky Prospekt is also close by. If you don't want to walk much or your health doesn't allow it, public transport nearby will get you there in minutes. We went to the pool in the mornings. It's quite clean, and the water temperature is comfortable – not cold, not warm, just right. I'm usually sensitive to cold and was worried it would be too chilly, but it turned out to be thoroughly enjoyable. There isn't a strong chlorine smell. You can also warm up in the sauna. Access to the pool and sauna is free for guests until 4 PM, using your room key.

The pool is free until 4 PM, and the room was clean. -: When checking out at 12 PM, I took my belongings from my room on the 4th floor and brought them up to my friends' room on the 7th floor. Somehow (it's unclear how or where), I ended up missing a turtleneck and a top. They never made it to the 7th-floor room. I contacted the reception, and they said they didn't know anything about it, and the housekeeper claimed there was nothing left in my room. They didn't even let me go back into the room. It's a very strange situation; these aren't earrings that could be easily lost unnoticed. Overall, the hotel is good and I recommend it, even though I'm still left with a bad taste in my mouth.

On the downside, check-in at reception took an extremely long time. The manager was completely unfriendly. We waited over an hour for our room to be cleaned. The upside was the beautiful view from the restaurant where breakfast is served.

Good hotel overall. The standard rooms aren't great, and the curtains are a bit dingy. We asked to change rooms and they moved us without any hassle from the 2nd to the 5th floor. However, the housekeeping on the 5th floor was significantly worse than on the 2nd. There was dust everywhere, and they didn't provide all the usual amenities. Breakfast was very good with plenty of options, plus champagne. The hotel has a convenient location. We enjoyed our stay. Thanks!

Everything was great, but why don't hotel guests have the privilege of going up to the observation deck?
