Margarita Hotel

Saint Petersburg|0.33km from Monument to Mikhail Glinka
I stayed 3 nights at the Margarita Hotel in early November 2021 when St Petersburg was locked down due to Covid with all restaurants and most shops were closed for all the days of my stay. The hotel seems a bit isolated but I suspect that is due to the streets being empty at night with most venues closed and few places to go. It is actually only about 30 minutes walk to the main Heritage Museum and less than 10 minutes to the Mariinsky Theatre. There was a small supermarket about 100 meters away and a mini fridge in the room both of which were particularly useful under lock down. The hotel was well signed and easy to find. The receptionist spoke a little English and although she seemed worried about making mistakes her English was a vast improvement on my non-existent Russian. The room was on the small side but quite adequate especially for the very reasonable tariff. It had a double bed, couple of dining-type chairs and a desk/counter attached to the wall opposite the end of the bed. The fridge was under the counter. There was also a kettle with tea but no coffee and a good sized closet. The lighting was pretty good and it was very warm. In fact a bit too warm and I had to open a window much of the time to cool things down. This is not a complaint - too hot is so much better than cold. A good buffet breakfast was included in the rate. While not huge, the buffet had more than enough choices and 2 good coffee machines. The wifi was excellent. The room was serviced each day which is better than currently happens in many international chain hotels. The hotel was very quiet but that may have been a function of few guests and the lock down. My only compliant really concerns the hot water in the shower which was fine the first 2 mornings but did not get over tepid the 3rd morning in spite of being run for more than 5 minutes. Overall, the Margarita is a good choice if you are looking for a very reasonably priced hotel of a good standard and don't mind walking a bit.

The front desk service is very good, the hotel is clean and tidy, the boss is Chinese, very warm. One of the two left-turned hotels is the Chinese Consulate in St. Petersburg.

Booked a room in this hotel after a couple of bad nights elsewhere. I expected any developments, but this hotel was pleasantly surprised from the beginning. Bed comfortable, clean fresh clothes, there are all facilities and the price is very pleasant. By the way, I lived for the same money elsewhere, and there was not half as comfortable as here. Plus - breakfasts are on, and very delicious )) the only moment - not all channels on TV worked, so to see something standing is unlikely to work. But if you, like me, come to watch not TV, but St. Petersburg, it won't hurt you! I also want to express my great gratitude to the girl with the resepshne, who allowed me to evict absolutely freely later on the deadline. It helped me to come to myself and get together normally. In general, a great gratitude to all the staff of the hotel . Thanks to you the final of my holidays turned out to be perfect! I advised all my friends and I will definitely come to you again.

The location, surrounding environment, breakfast and room hardware and software are all good. Unfortunately, I didn't change the sheets and cover after staying for 4 nights ... I don't know if it is the hotel's environmental protection system or what the reason is.

The front desk is very nice, English, and will help me to take the luggage upstairs, right next to the Mariinsky Theatre, the traffic is very convenient, the subway is not convenient, but the St. Petersburg subway is not very developed. In total, 99 points

Отель понравился. Старинное здание, интересное расположение. На ресепшене девушки вежливые. Очень порадовала тишина. Полотенца меняли своевременно. Чисто в номере. Из недостатков: чайник не работал. Душ подтекал.
