We went for the Sunday Carvery.... £10, you cannot go wrong. Very tasty and plentyful. I hope the new people do well, and wish them alll the best. Happy Christmas to you all everyone was so friendly !!

The bull has recently been taken over and the transformation is amazing. Lovely atmosphere wonderful people and best carvery on a Sunday I’ve had for a long time! Beautiful garden for the warmer months and just generally a lovely pub.

Rude passive agressive staff who were panicked and flapping even thoughit was quite, awful carvery, worst roast potatoes, it wasn't hot and I think they forgot to add cheese to the cauliflower cheese as it was tasteless, pigs in blankets were anemic and pink in the middle!

Very disappointed visit. Barmaid was more interested in her phone than the customers stood at the bar waiting for service. Dirty tables with empty plates on them and dirty glasses scattered around. Also couldn’t help but notice the girls fingernails are as dirty as the whole place!! Would not recommend if you want cleanliness or actual service

Visited The Bull Hotel for a birthday meal and what a great choice! The new landlord and lady have made a huge improvement to every aspect in the 8/9 months they have been there. I can not recommend the Sunday carvery highly enough - It was the best we have ever had. Melt in the mouth gammon, gorgeous veggies and enormous Yorkshire Puddings. Desserts did not disappoint either. We will definitely will be recommending this to friends and family and will be returning.

Huge thanks too the barmaid and the landlord for being so welcoming. Lovely weekend spent staying at the Bull. Rooms are very nice and big, the bed is better than mine at home and the shower pressure is to die for. Bonus is how pun friendly the place is having 2 dogs themselves. Landlady was very nice, giving the dog lots of fuss and treats. would recommend trying the food, steaks are cooked to perfection. will definitely be back again soon to try the sunday carvery everyone was raving about.

Wasn't, going to review, but after our experience only seems right that we share. Initial impressions were good. New owner and bar staff seemed very friendly and keen to chat. We sat and watched the rugby and ordered dinner. Food was tasty, but not as described on the menu. Bar person advised chef opened wrong pack. As we were the only people eating we struggled with this answer...was just lack of attention. We were out off site for the evening, but returned latish for our nights stay. Room was large, bed was very comfortable, but the constant humming noise made sleep difficult. We were advised that a continental breakfast was available from 8am, but full English available to order from 9am to 11am, which was food for a late start. However, we were up early as usual, and decided to partake of the continental breakfast at 8.30am. We made our way downstairs only to find zero staff and no breakfast laid up or available at all. No hot water on, no butter or milk and dried fruit that had been left uncovered from the previous day. Disappointed and hungry and nobody around to check us out, we just left the key on the bar and drove off.

Really comfortable stay at The Bull. Everything was clean and nicely presented. Bed huge and really comfortable. We had the only non en-suite room but the bathroom was clean and well sized and adjacent to the room, and had a bath and a shower. Friendly helpful staff.

This place is brilliant for locals and tourists alike. The staff are absolutely brilliant and the locals so friendly to any out of towners. We had the ground floor apartment for one night, one double bedroom with a HUGE comfortable bed, one single room and a generous sized bathroom with bath. The staff were so attentive from when we arrived, welcoming us and giving us a tour of the space. The beds were so comfortable and the whole apartment had only recently been redecorated. The star of the stay had to be the food at The Bull! Wow, more people need to eat here! You could tell the staff cared, explaining the farm to table approach and the specials they had on. The menu is simple, but the food is of such high quality. We had a steak which was cooked to perfection, a mint and lamb burger which was sooo flavourful and amazing ham and egg. The whole place is dog friendly, with a pub dog walking around to greet you. We also loved getting some fresh farm produce and milk from the outdoor vending machine in the morning! If you’re after a comfortable, at home feel stay and amazing food head to the bull in downton!

This is a Marston's pub and they con operators and rip them off. This pub sadly will never go forward. Poor BDM and shocking Regional Manager, This is no reflection on the current operators as they are nice people...

Visited for Sunday lunch Darren and Michelle are so friendly and welcoming all the staff are great . The food was excellent and the Chef has amazing interaction with customers. Highly recommend and we will definitely be returning. Thank you all for a great experience. Dog friendly .

Only recently, the pub changed management. I went a few months ago and it was pretty good. Nothing too special though. However, the chicken came cold, which was unpleasant. I visited today for a nice lunch under the sun. Every Sunday they have a carvery, but the regular menu is not available. This surprised me, but I went for the carvery anyway. The food was very nice, and the chefs are friendly. It really feels like you’re part of a community. The meal exceeded my expectations, and I would eat there again. I was also very impressed that the chef even made some vegetable gravy for me, which was brought to the outside sitting area. For dessert, there’s a selection of ice creams. It seems as though it was rather busy in the kitchen as two ice creams were forgotten about, which had to be inquired about. Alas, they finally came and we received a double scoop at no extra cost when we initially ordered a single scoop (probably as an apology). This was greatly appreciated when received (especially by the little one). The ice cream was also very fresh and high quality! Overall, this place is great and has improved a lot. Come here for a warm environment with friendly locals and staff. Would recommend.
