Myself and my family have just returned from a week long stay at this lovely hotel. There were 5 of us, two adults, one teenager (16), a child (6) and a toddler (1). We had two twin rooms between us, which were advertised and booked as interconnecting rooms, but that’s not what we got (I am actually unsure whether they even have them, didn’t mind enough to ask). The rooms are a little dated, but normal standard I’d expect of a relatively cheap Spanish hotel! We unfortunately had a very noisy room, so please bare in mind, if you are 1101-1143, 2101-2143, 3101-3143, 4101-4143, 5101-5143, in an odd room number, you’re facing onto the Saularis Palace pool/entertainment stage, and they are LOUD until about 11.30/midnight, more so on the nights with live performers. This is no fault of the Romana of course, and is why I wouldn’t mark them down any for it, it’s just something to bare in mind. Didn’t request a room change, but equally wished I had at times. With having young kids, we didn’t get the luxury of being up late having fun out and about. I was also disappointed by the lack of net curtains on the balcony doors, as you had to close the curtains for privacy, but then were sat in the dark (the other hotel balconies face over too!). The pillows are nice and firm, as are the mattresses. Whether you find this comfortable is personal preference. Like a lot of other hotels, you’ll get two beds pushed together, wasn’t an issue as we expected it. The air con was on (we went end of June into July), but you can’t change the temperature. The dials have been removed. You have the controls to turn it down or off. I personally could have done with it being cooler. The food was alright, nothing spectacular, but nicely varied, a lot of it, and a separate kids bit too. Ultimately, go in with an open mind, it’s a hotel buffet, things aren’t piping hot, not everything will be to your liking, and some meals you’ll like more than others. It’s common sense. You’ll queue at busier times for show cooking. We found the pool bar quite pricey for drinks and food, so mostly tried to eat out for lunch (we were half board). The food was decent on the occasions we did have it though. The pool has to be one of the best I’ve been in abroad. The temperate was perfect. It was kept clean. The entertainment was decent and the team do a good job. Sun bed reserving was an absolute madness, but that ignorance is down to the guests, not the hotel, although they did monitor this and leave notes on beds. The slides were good fun, again, busier at times, but to be expected. The splash park was temperamental, some times of the day, the pressure seemed to die off, so the tipping bucket would no longer fill and some of the sprinklers trickled instead of shooting water out. My youngest preferred this though, so was actually better for us when it was less intense. Location is excellent for access to Portaventura/Ferrari Land, 10-15 minute walk along, and about the same in the other d
