Hotel La Candela is located in the centre of Salta at 2 km of the bus-terminal. The hotel offers 12 rooms over 2 floors, indoor parking, a nice city-garden & outdoor pool, a lounge & breakfast room. The hotel is charming and well maintained. Free Wi-Fi. Friendly and helpful staff. La Candela applies two different rates. Argentineans can pay in ARS, foreigners are charged in USD. We insisted to pay in ARS. As a result a weird calculation was presented. The rate in USD is recalculated in ARS via the official rate. Whether the 21% VAT is already included stays unclear. Then 10% discount is applied when you pay cash in ARS. As a result you pay 4% more than the rack rate in ARS. We found that highly confusing. The white towels are greyish and seem to be unclean. There is a need for a better laundry service. We had a room with view of the garden. Our room was adequately furnished and decorated, with a good double-bed, TV on the wall, fridge, table & chair, air-conditioning, wardrobe & safe. We had a separate small bathroom with toilet, washbasin, bidet and shower over the bath. All was very clean. Windows can be opened but have no mosquito-screens. The breakfast buffet is OK: pastries, bread & croissants, ham & cheese, butter & good marmalades, fruit-salad & orange juice, cereals, milk & yoghurt, tea & coffee. We found hotel La Candela comfortable and we had a good stay. Recommended.

La Candela is located in a quiet neighbourhood. Convenience stores and a small bar/cafe are just a few minutes away. We found that the nearest restaurant (in Ciudad Germes) is popular with local families and was a good choice for our Christmas Day lunch The hotel staff were all friendly, but particular thanks go to Dario, who went out of his way to help. The room was comfortable and looked out over the garden, though it did not have screens on the windows so some mosquitos found their way in. Breakfast was completely adequate: tea, coffee (really is terrible!) , juice, cereal, yoghurt, fruit salad, various breads and pastries, conserves, and eggs available upon request. Recommended.

Hotel is pleasantly located. The private parking is handy. Reception staff are friendly. Breakfast is adequate for the level offered. We were glad that an early breakfast was possible so that we could leave for the airport at 8 am. Room not big but if you sleep alone that's no problem. Here and there, the building and the rooms could use some paint.

Beautiful hotel, quiet, organized with a warm attention from its staff. Very fresh breakfast, the juice of squeezed oranges and jams stand out. The room was spacious with a balcony and a bathroom in perfect condition offering organic and vegan shampoo and conditioner, a spacious and comfortable bed.

We had a lousy stay. We stayed in a 2-bedroom apartment within the hotel and we couldn't rest at all due to the loud volume of music from a bar next door (it closed at 5am). They didn't give us any solution and they told us to “turn the air conditioning up” to see if it could be heard less. A disaster the attention and a total lack of respect on the part of the hotel the way in which they treated us. Zero attention to the guest. I would never go back or recommend it to anyone.

We returned a few days ago, I am sorry to have to issue this opinion because the place, its architecture, decoration and treatment had been very satisfactory until I verified that two bracelets had been stolen from my backpack. I don't know if the hotel has cameras to corroborate the fact since this happened during the period in which we left our belongings safe in the lobby because our flight left in the afternoon. I was surprised that there was no locked place to store them since there was more luggage from other passengers. When I arrived, I found that the two bracelets that I had placed in a zippered pocket were missing from my personal backpack. Great was my disappointment since one of them was a family memory.

Everything more than good, the beautiful place, good location, very well cared for, the staff is very friendly, the breakfast is exquisite, they are in all the details. The room is excellent, there is a mini-bar, they gave us a complimentary bottle of Malbec wine.

The Hotel La Candela impresses with a very quiet - but still central - location in the center of Salta, a very cozy and rustic interior, a beautiful courtyard with pool, friendly staff, fast WiFi and good breakfast. The only criticism I had was the location of the room itself in the hotel: our room was about 5m from the reception, which meant that you could/had to hear conversations at the reception quite loudly in the room even at night - a bit annoying. Generally really great!
