The Rhino Resort Hotel & Spa

Great service

The Rhino is finished. Very depressive atmosphere, the whole resort needs a massive change, what’s overdue for probably ten years. The rooms only have windows in the front door, that gives you daylight for a little part of the room. The other 2/3 is always dark. If you open the curtain everyone can watch you in the room. I had a bone in the swimming pool, the pools are filthy. The same with the sun beds, dirty-full of marks and sweat. The staff walks around like they don’t want to be there. You barely get a hello from the guys at the reception. There was nothing positive. The atmosphere was spuky. Rhino is finished, maybe a 3 star hotel.

First time in my life I have been told that I should pay for the ice. I asked ice in the bar and the guy told me no because it’s a bar and I told him I want to drink some water it’s 31 degrees we were by the pool and my bottle of water(which is the one that cleaners give everyday in your room) got warm. And he told me no it’s the bar. I went to reception and complained about it, after a while a manager or whoever was came to me and told me that they don’t give ice because people are bringing drinks from outside and asking ice in the bar. I told him it’s just water and that he could smell it even. I’ve stayed in multiple hotels all over the world. Never had problem with this kind of thing. After I asked some more and the barman told me it’s the last time tomorrow no ice and I asked him if I should bring mine from outside then in order to give me some ice. It’s ridiculous to ask for ice and not be able to get some if you don’t pay. Nowhere in the world this is happening especially in those kind of resorts or hotels.. They try to get money from you for everything only because they see you’re white..

Staff is extremely rude, yells at clients, damages clients properties when cleaning without even giving an apology or acknowledging it. Breakfast is very basic. Wood floors in the rooms make lots of noise when walking. Staff is very curious and stare a lot. This is not a 5 stars hotel!

In style close to the sea Last hotel in Senegal. Noce hotel, with good service. Nice pools. Food was outstanding

Given some of the marginal places I stayed on my pass through Senegal, this place was probably the nicest. I was probably not the target customer as I didn't use them as an all inclusive and clearly that is the intention. The property is a bit of a walk from humble downtown Saly, but otherwise this place has charm and character all over the place. The bathroom was particularly generous and the bed nice and comfy. It was quite a hike to get out of my room and back on the street though, because the grounds are quite large. If you like service though, this is surely the place you want to stay in Saly.
