I am stayed at Hotel Mercure Salzburg City for two nights during my time in Salzburg, and it turned out to be an excellent base for exploring the city. It’s also around a 15-minute walk to the centre of the Old Town, meaning you can reach Salzburg’s most famous sights — such as the Cathedral, Mozart’s birthplace and the Hohensalzburg Fortress — without needing public transport. Airport access is also extremely straightforward. Bus number 2 from Salzburg Airport stops just a minute’s walk from the hotel, making transfers simple, quick and inexpensive. This is particularly helpful if you have luggage or an early flight. I would recommend Hotel Mercure Salzburg City to anyone looking for a comfortable, well-located hotel that balances convenience with good value.
