We booked our one night stay through Aadvantage Hotels because there was a promotion for extra airline miles. We were traveling with our toddler for Christmas markets. When we arrived at the seminary it was 4:20 in the afternoon and the front desk staff was gone for the day and the access door locked. The third party that we booked with did not communicate with us that we would need a code to access the building if we arrived after 4pm. We were unable to reach anyone from the hotel nor could we reach anyone from the company we booked through. Another guest arrived during the 90 minutes we were outside trying to get in and he had an email with a code and was able to access without issue. We had to quickly book another hotel since it was cold and our toddler was crying. The company we booked through did forward me the email with the code around 7pm when they finally responded to my urgent email asking for help. The next morning I stopped by and spoke with the front desk. They said that they never received my contact information from Aadvantage Hotels but they had not only sent the email to them with the code to be forwarded to me, they had sent an email several days prior asking if we needed a baby cot. I'm still fighting with the company I booked with to try to get my money back. The courtyard looked lovely and the location is great. The front desk was very helpful to me the following day when I was trying to understand what had happened. My advice would be to not book this hotel through a third party because of the limited front desk hours. If you do book through a third party I would reach out to the hotel directly before your stay to make sure they have your contact information to send the code if you have a later arrival.

Wonderful stay in a perfect location. Great price with breakfast included. Yes the rooms are on the plain side but they felt clean and nothing beats the huge windows. If you are looking for a unique place to stay this is it! It was magical hearing the church bells while enjoying a morning coffee

Found the reception staff on arrival very unwelcoming+unfriendly. Rooms very very basic, housekeeping never washed/rinsed our mugs or bathroom glasses out once which is very poor. The clock bells chime every 15minutes and at 07.00 every morning the bells ring vigorously(I'm guessing its to call the priests to prayer.) Very annoying if you want a lie-in!! Breakfast appauling, same bland food to choose from every morning. We found the whole place very creepy. Wish we had read the reviews before booking. Would only stay for one night if went to Saltzburg again. One Big Plus---IT'S IN A GREAT LOCATION

we having been staying in this hotel for the past 4 years and things are alright but we have been slowly getting rooms that are not as good , this one we got two single beds and they could not be pushed together , we booked as a couple, the breakfast unless you get there early enough , I think they are getting too busy and have been ripped off by people in the past so have tighten things up , sorry that people have to be like that . Maybe if they had on their info sheet you fill out if you are a returning client , would help them

I loved the idea of staying in a converted preist’s seminary & was realistic about the accommodation. (After all it was a seminary.) However, considering the exorbitant price we paid for the simple dorm room with no TV, no air conditioning, bare bones room with tiny shower & a small bottle of body wash etc. ….I thought it was a bit overpriced. This is essentially a self service guest house where no one in reception desk after 4pm, you let yourself into guesthouse, auto lights, & no lobby. There is a common area with no frills table in the hall with a tv. Ok… no frills I get but this was way over priced (perhaps due to their location?). A positive… breakfast IS included! [note: many Euro hotels have gone to a “fee based” ( not included) ] breakfast. Sleeping areas were large but spartan;bathroom was tiny. Another positive….very clean!

The most unique and classic hotel building we’ve ever stayed in. Overall, it was excellent, with a couple of caveats - the shower was a little too small, and the large room lacked a refrigerator. Famous Salzburg sites are just a few minutes away by foot. Breakfast is included in the very fair price.

We stayed here for four nights and found everything to be excellent. The reception team managed our booking flawlessly, responding promptly and accommodating our visa requirements. The room was spacious, well-equipped, and included a coffee maker. It was also cleaned daily. Breakfast was a delightful feast, providing a wholesome start to the day. The staff were friendly and eager to assist.

This hotel was absolutely perfectly situated right in the heart of Salzburg. Nowhere we went in the town was more than a 10-15 walk away. Being so close meant we could pop back during the day if needed and there were also bars and restaurants right beside it, great for a nightcap. The breakfast was beautiful with a great selection especially for vegetarians. The rooms were basic but functional with everything we needed. The only improvement could be in the housekeeping. Our tea bags were not restocked until the last day and they didn’t wash our teacups the entire time we were there. This was just a tiny thing however, on the whole this was a peaceful, convenient and safe place to stay and I would heartily recommend it to everyone.

I wish I had stayed in Salzburg longer, because this guest house was so lovely. I arrived late and so they sent me self check-in instructions that day that worked seamlessly. The space was so peaceful and lovely, and the breakfast was quite good! I had a single room that was still quite spacious and comfortable. Great value and a great location. It's only a 5 minute walk from the Mirabell Gardens and a 20 minute walk from the train station. Highly recommend!

Very central and close to lots of touristy historique sites and also the river. Stayed here 5th to7th of September 2022. The building is majestic as it’s a church. You are really close to everything ( railway station as well as mirabelle garden and palace , buses to go to other places etc), restaurants, old town , Mozart house . My room was towards the street but still quiet. This is not a luxury place but very clean with high ceilings and a small adequate shower . No Tv ( didn’t mind ) kettle with tea which was not refurbished.Breakfast was buffet with lots of choices. Reason I removed one star : when arrived the 1st lady with dark hair was grumpy and not welcoming , 2nd lady with lighter hair more hospitable but what bothered me was that due to a ceremony or technical issues?? My 2 days stay had to become even shorter without prior notice as they were asking me to check out at 9:00 am in the morning on my departure day . So had to rush for breakfast etc. Additionally , contrary to what some other people experienced as per the reviews ,they refused to hold my luggage for a few more hours (not in a nice way). Overall, worth the price due to location if they don’t give you short notice .

This must be one of Salzburg's best kept secrets! Located in a beautiful Baroque building, one enters through a massive wooden door into a beautiful courtyard. The whole place oozes atmosphere and yet is spotlessly clean with modern touches such as a very efficient lift to the upper floors. Our room on the second floor was relatively compact but contained all essentials and was serviced daily. Ear plugs are supplied which might be necessary in the height of the season when the bars and restaurants in the street below might get noisy into the early hours but in early October this was not a problem. The bells in the adjoining church did however, provide a 7am alarm call! Breakfast was relatively basic but plentiful with a choice of cereals, fruit, cheese, ham and cake. Apart from the beautiful building, what makes this place so special, given its very reasonable room rates, is its location - a 5 minute walk across the river into the old town and a 3 minute walk to the Mirabelle Gardens and the plaza where many of the tours depart. Should we return to Salzburg we would not hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommended!

The hotel is in a great location in a beautiful old building with nice staff and a lovely resident cat. Communication is rather poor however and it is clearly not a good choice for families. I asked for 2 rooms close together as we are a family with 2 adults & 4 children. The rooms were about 5 minutes walk apart & when I queried it the staff said there weren’t any of the triple room types near each other. I think I should have been told this when I asked about it on booking. The hotel was also advertised to have washing facilities but the machine was broken and I was told it had been broken for ‘about 2 months.’ I feel I should have been told about this as well as it was one of the main reasons I booked this hotel. There was of course no offer to reimburse laundromat fees. The additional charges per child are rather steep too. I tried to book for 6 people but only 3 of the children appeared on the booking. I notified the hotel as soon as I noticed & was informed it would be an extra 204 Euro for my 9 year old child to be added to the booking! This was changed to 100 Euro when I queried it - still a lot extra to pay for a child when I had already paid for a triple occupancy room (unfortunately under non-refundable conditions)

I loved staying in the seminary during my recent visit to salzburg; it felt very different to staying in a typical hotel. The building is stunning and it was lovely to wake up to the sound of church bells and walk through the beautiful courtyard every day. The location could not be better - a short walk from both the old town and the train station. It was also only a 1 min walk from the departure point of many local tours (eg sound of music, eagles nest). I stayed in a double room, which was spotlessly clean and had lots of space. Small pots of homemade jam left on the bed as a welcome gift was a nice touch. There are communal kitchen spaces which means you don’t necessarily have to eat out every night. The only downside was that the room backed on to a busy street with many restaurants. At night it was extremely noisy until around 1am. The windows did keep the noise out, however it was very warm weather and there is no air conditioning so the windows had to be open. Thankfully earplugs were provided. The breakfast was a bit limited compared to other places I have stayed in Austria but what was available was delicious. It was also nice to be able to eat it in the courtyard. Overall, I highly recommend this as a place to stay in Salzburg. It is a great location and somewhere that provides a bit of a different experience. It is a bit basic but doesn’t pretend to be otherwise and is really excellent value for money. I will definitely go back!

A lovely experience. The reception staff was friendly and helpful. The building a gorgeous historical building with tons of character (huge wooden doors, wrought iron gates, cobbled courtyard). We stayed in two family rooms, one older on the lower floor and we had family members in a second newer room on an upper floor. I personally liked the older room better, it felt more spacious and had a bit more atmosphere but both very nice. The family room consisted of two rooms, one large bed in one room and a fold out couch in the other. Both spaces were very roomy with great clothes storage options. High ceilings with large windows made it bright and airy. No aircon but there were two large floor fans and I never felt too warm as the evening were cool. Our rooms faced the alley where there were outdoor restaurants but I can honestly say that I was not bothered by any noise. Breakfast was served indoors or you could sit out in the peaceful courtyard with a fountain. Plenty of choices without being overly fussy. The place felt very secure and was located in the perfect location for touring Salzburg, we walked everywhere including the train station and nothing was further then a 15 minute walk. This place has all the charm of a quaint European inn without making you feel awkward if you are not on your honeymoon. Also, that little jar of raspberry jam they gift you, absolutely the best jam I've ever had.
