Having this hotel booked for me by a third party and then reading the reviews afterwards, I had mixed thoughts of how my 5 night stay would turn out. Noise- yes it can be noisy if your room faces the freeway. Mine did but the noise wasn’t loud enough to keep me from sleeping. A sound machine via phone etc would be useful. Food- lots of complaints of food running out etc. The food was always stocked and a fairly good amount of choices. Bad thing is that the selection never changed. Always egg and sausage. No rotation of potatoes or ham/ meat option. Cleanliness was acceptable. The hotel is old and needs renovation so looks dated. Front desk staff were polite and helpful.
Cons: elevator in the parking garage needs work. Sometimes it worked sometimes it didn’t. I had a room on the 4th floor and apparently on multiple occasions, it didn’t like to go past the 3rd floor. Gym- well that was terrible. I wouldn’t even call that a gym it’s more like three cardio machines stacked in a tiny room. No free weights no pulley systems etc, pointless. Parking- you have to pay and a reason I wouldn’t stay here again. It’s like a restaurant charging you to use silverware and plates? Makes no sense. The hotel is located off the beaten track not like it’s a prime location downtown. No need to charge for this and just a way to squeeze more money out of you. There is street parking but there are homeless people around and for some reason most of the curbs are painted faded red so it’s really hard to see at night and there is no reason for so much red restricted areas to park. A very poor business practice. Safe- ?, security guard enjoyed sitting in the lobby on his phone so I’m pretty sure the front desk was ok, as far as walking around the property not sure that was a normal part of his routine. Overall it was fine, nothing spectacular. Good location off of the freeway and close to attractions. Would I stay here again? No. The parking fees and lack of a proper gym would keep me away in the future.
