Bahia Resort Hotel

The hotel offers a great overall atmosphere, with a private inner bay and easy access to the beach. The environment is lovely, and there are plenty of recreational facilities on the property. That said, the room was a bit small, and there was an unpleasant smell coming from the air conditioning, which was disappointing for a hotel at this level.

My husband and I recently had our wedding at Bahia Resort, and we couldn’t have been happier with our choice. We visited many venues in San Diego, but Bahia immediately stood out for its warm hospitality. During our initial visit, we were greeted with water, coffee, and snacks—something none of the other venues offered. It was such a thoughtful gesture and made us feel genuinely welcome from the start. I especially appreciated the extra touches, like public toilet seats with covers, which are rare to find in the States but made me feel more comfortable. The staff at Bahia are exceptional—always friendly, patient, and ready to help with any request. The hotel itself is beautiful, with a private beach that adds a special touch to any event. One thing I loved about Bahia is how animal-friendly it is. It’s not just dog-friendly; you’ll see ducks wandering around the grounds and even rescued seals staying at the property. It’s such a unique and charming environment! Our hotel room was spacious and spotless, providing a comfortable retreat after a busy wedding day. If I had to mention areas for improvement, I wish the rooms had a kettle for making tea. Also, the guest laundry requires buying tokens and detergent from the gift shop, but there’s no signage in the laundry room explaining this process, which caused a bit of confusion. Overall, both we and our guests thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bahia Resort. The beautiful setting, thoughtful amenities, and outstanding service made our wedding truly memorable. I highly recommend Bahia Resort to anyone looking for a special venue or a relaxing getaway in San Diego!

The pictures ******* uses are not accurate. We booked a bay view and ended up with trees that blocked out any view. The room only had slat blinds so it never fully got dark at night due the extreme lighting in the parking areas and decks. The resort in itself is fairly nice but it is budget for the area. The dockside restaurant was pretty good (pricey). If you book on ******* you aren’t guaranteed anything from this hotel and they will not change your room/accommodation under any circumstances. If I went back I would book through the hotel 100%

Amenities: 4/5. Pool, hot tub, restaurant in very good condition and staff were friendly and efficient. Tennis courts were good but the pickleball nets with wheels causes some damage. As an ardent tennis fan this bothers me. Tennis equipment at the resort were subpar but that is to be expected. Location: 5/5. Located on the water with plenty of activities and direct beach access. Food: 4/5. Dockside food is good and restaurant staff are friendly. Rooms: 1/5. We had the bay view double queen rooms. The views were beautiful, beds were comfy. However, the rooms had a dank musty smell that we could not overcome during our entire 3-day stay. The carpets are filthy and need to be replaced. The bathrooms were small and in acceptable condition but could be better. The patio access from our room was great. Room service and housekeeping: 5/5. Quick and efficient

Very nice resort and family friendly. Although furniture could get a bit upgrade or new paint, all appliances and amenities are good to utilize, private beach is quiet and spacious. It is more for paddle boarding or kayaking as the water is very calm, no wave, which is also perfect for kids if you are bringing them. I would not recommend the restaurant so drive out of the hotel to get food instead.

This is a lovely hotel on the bay. It has Hawaiian vibes, spacious rooms, dining options, pool, tennis courts and even seals in an enclosure. Walking distance to Belmont Park and the beach.
