The lady at the front desk helped me check in early before 12 PM. There are many other hotels nearby. It's close to the street.

I knew the ratings weren't great when I booked, with common complaints about old facilities and street noise. Upon checking in, I found the room to be quite clean, especially the bathroom and kitchen. The hotel has a lot of character, built in 1910, offering a real sense of America's Gilded Age wealth and progress. The location is good, with a supermarket right across the street and an Avis car rental just one block east. Union Square and the cable car stop are also further east. However, it definitely gets noisy at night; the soundproofing is non-existent, with police sirens and street music constantly blaring, even late into the night. The street downstairs was cleaner than expected, and I didn't see any homeless people. Although I heard there are some if you go south and west.

Clean and hygienic, great value for money, and looks exactly like the pictures. The neighborhood is lively with plenty of dining options right outside. The only downside is that the room only has heating and no air conditioning.

The hotel boasts an excellent location, just a 10-minute walk from Union Square. The building itself has a charming vintage facade, and the lobby is stylishly retro. My room was very spacious, featuring a separate, fully-equipped kitchen, which was incredibly convenient for preparing simple meals or reheating takeout. There's a small supermarket directly across the street that stocks fresh fruits and vegetables. The hotel provides a simple Western breakfast (bread, coffee, or tea) and complimentary wine and cookies in the afternoons. While you may encounter homeless individuals in the surrounding area, this is fairly typical for urban centers.

The room was spacious and spotlessly clean! The hotel boasts a superb location, with many popular photo spots just a 10-minute walk away. Plus, there's a microwave, which is handy for warming up ready-made meals from the supermarket.
