location was good, check in was easy. however, i think it would be better if basic amenities like room slippers and toothbrushes/toothpaste were provided. the air conditioning was noisy though

The hotel itself is highly recommended. It has a great location, very nice rooms and very friendly service. However, we also had some hiccups during our visit. We had booked the room for four people, but the room was only equipped with towels for three people. Not that much of an issue - we just asked every day for an additional towel. We booked an Alcatraz Bundle via the concierge, which all went well. However, the charge included a $15 consumption voucher per person at the hotel bar, which was a bit difficult to redeem. You had to try to get the exact amount, as it was not possible to receive a credit for any change left. It was also not possible to pay on top of the voucher. We were told that the voucher could be used like cash but it wasn't quite like that after all. So perhaps this is not necessarily recommended. We also booked bicycles with the concierge, which worked very well. However, my kids really liked the evening cookies and milk and the games room.

We had a great nights sleep. The mattress was very comfortable. If you are a light sleeper, then you may have a hard time sleeping since the walls seem to be thin and the windows are not double pane. We could hear people waiting for public transportation just outside of our window and people with children in the room next to us and in the hallway. We had fun playing foosball. Since we had such a short day, we didn’t have time to use the gym or use the pool tables. 

Nice location, great vibe in the hotel. Loved the games in the restaurant on lobby. Very good for families. However, the rooms were very bare- no water bottles, no fridge, no coffee machine, no kettle. One had to request for everything.

Be sure to view the Hotel Caza website for the extensive list of additional fees associated with the booking (destination fee, parking, etc). The prices are very transparent on the site and aren’t as clear booking through third party. This hotel has incredible customer service! The front desk ambassadors are warm and welcoming from check-in to check-out. Vanessa and her colleague truly provide world class customer service. She provided 10-15% off coupons for restaurants on the pier. We had a fantastic time for my mother’s birthday in San Francisco and it would not have been the same with another hotel. The location of Hotel Caza is near Fishermans Wharf. It is walkable to many attractions such as the Coit Tower, Ghirardelli’s, the piers, etc. There are an abundance of great restaurants nearby. We had a delicious brunch next door at “Eight am” cafe. Other attractions are a bit further out and require transportation such as Golden Gate Park, Sausalito, and redwood forests. This is a very family oriented hotel. There are many games in the lobby for children and adults. Bicycles to peruse the city are provided on a first come first serve basis each morning. The swimming pool is on the smaller side and always has kids in it. The evening cookies are packaged and not freshly baked. The lobby has an overpowering smell of perfume. Overall, we had an amazing time at this hotel and highly recommend it for family vacations!
