Upon arriving at the hotel about 11.30 pm for check-in I was told that the hotel was overbooked and they had to rebook me to Soma House a hotel across the street. This was unbelievable as I had been charged in full several days before the check-in date. So it had been fully prepaid in advance.
So I walked with my luggage across the street to Soma House. There, though I was told a room had been prepared for me, it took quite a while to check-in. And when they asked for my credit card $200 guarantee, something went wrong. After I completed the transaction on the machine, I was notified by text from my credit card that $200 transaction had been made for Soma House, but the hotel night manager (I think he was) said that nothing came through in their system, no record!! I showed him the text as well as my credit card app which showed the $200 transaction at Soma House. This was quite a weird situation. So he asked me to insert the credit card again to record my credit card details without duplicating the $200 charge which I did. I was told that upon my check-out the $200 would be returned.
During the stay, the only problem with this hotel was that it was too noisy outside the room late in the morning with housekeeping people and hotel staff so much so that I couldn’t sleep in late in the morning.
Upon check-out, I was told by the same night manager that he would deduct $200 from the hotel charge for me and would send me the email. I am still waiting for the email from Soma House without knowing how this would be resolved, hopefully receiving the $200 back.
Such a terrible experience indeed!
