Hotel Nikko San Francisco

This was my first time in San Francisco, and I had no idea about the geography, so I picked Hotel Nikko. It turned out to be excellent value for money and a very comfortable hotel. While the location isn't as central as the famous hotels right next to Union Square, it's only a 5-minute walk. Plus, the cable car terminal is just a 3-5 minute walk away! The breakfast also deserves a shout-out – the Japanese breakfast was superb. It's been so long since I had Asian food in the US, and starting my day with rice and mackerel for breakfast was truly wonderful! 👍🏼👍🏼

The location was excellent, and the hotel and rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff were very courteous, and even with a Trip.com booking, they honored my request for late check-in and late check-out due to my One Harmony status. However, a free room upgrade was not possible for Trip.com bookings. The facilities and amenities were generally satisfactory. Overall, it was a highly satisfying hotel stay.

Extremely satisfied, it's perfect for traveling with kids. The hotel looks even newer than in the pictures, the room is spacious enough, and the breakfast is very Asian. Highly recommended!

This hotel is great for Asian travelers. The Japanese restaurant downstairs is quite good. They gave us a room with a city night view, but when you're staying downtown, you still need to pay attention to your directions when you head out.

The room was very spacious, and the breakfast was excellent, though a bit pricey. Overall, it's still quite good value for money.

Great location, convenient for everything. Macy's is just a few steps away, and the sightseeing trolley is practically at your doorstep. The lobby is spacious and comfortable, and the staff are polite and attentive. There's a water dispenser on every floor. The breakfast is a fantastic mix of Western and Japanese options. Excellent value for money too. I'll definitely stay here again next time.

I had a very satisfying stay. The breakfast was good and the location was excellent. You can store your luggage there, and check-in is on the second floor. The elevator is also very fast.

On my first night, I found a wiggling maggot on the duvet. The hotel's handling of the situation was also a bit confusing. They only had housekeeping come to confirm and change the sheets and duvet, and I had to request a room change myself. They also told me their security manager would come talk to me. I don't understand what there was to talk about, it's not like I witnessed a **. (This part was left as is due to the unusual placeholder, assuming it's an intentional blank or code for something non-translatable directly.) I directly asked what benefit this would be to me. I was already very unhappy about the incident; I might have been a bit happier if they upgraded my room or offered me vouchers. They didn't respond and simply gave up on talking to me, saying they would write their report based on their own understanding. What else? Could talking to me lead to a new understanding? I was quite shocked that they made no attempt to appease me. Later, my friends told me that's just how the service industry is in the US. I haven't compared, so I can't comment. The breakfast restaurant, front desk, concierge, etc., were all acceptable and within normal expectations. I wonder if their procedures when something goes wrong would be just as 'magical'.
