I had a fantastic time at this hotel. I booked a fairmont exterior king room with a view. The room itself was nice but what I really liked was the walk in wardrobe and luxurious marble bathroom with his and hers sinks. Breakfast at the hotel and dinner in the Tonga room was also really good. Customer Service was top dollar. The only criticisms I would have are that:- 1) There was only one functioning lift from the main foyer to hotel rooms, 2) upon checking in a hold fee of $100 per night is placed on your debit/ credit card (only returnable 5-7 days after departure) and 3) some of the meals were overpriced, I was charged approx $55 for a medium sized pizza and bottle of water on one night. Overall, enjoyed my stay and would return.

We chose this hotel as part of a package deal with BA. The location is great, the view from the room and service staff (bell hop, cleaning team etc) we're lovely. There were definitely more cons than pros for this place. We requested a replenishment of tea, creamer and sugar which never arrived. We ordered a $7 croissant which took 45mins to arrive and even after the $6 delivery charge and 15% the bill was $24?! We sent that back. We asked the reception for some advice on a travel ticket, which was wrong. The first day we decided to try breakfast at the hotel, I strongly recommend finding somewhere else. It was almost $100 for 2 classic breakfasts (toast, egg, bacon or sausage) and some OJ, not worth the money AT ALL. When we gave our feedback on checkout, the front of house was dismissive, unapologetic and we are leaving feeling disappointed with that service. Such a shame

average visit, maybe I expected more given their reputation. I visited SF for a two-day concert so I expected not to stay too much in my room anyways. Picked the Ritz primarily for the location. Also this was my first time staying under my own name so always wanted to get the welcome envelope with my name on it. (They misspelled it 😔) Booked via Amex’s FHR primarily for the early check-in at around noon and late checkout. I received an upgrade to a City View room but I must’ve arrived too early because my room was not really prepared. It had a few missing amenities like slippers, dental kits, combs etc. No welcome gifts other than chocolate. Only ate breakfast there but food is okay. Great portions though! Most of the time, I left the hotel at 10/11am and came back after midnight. One time no valet was there to pick up my car so had to call and request someone to pickup my car. Otherwise, all other services and staff were pleasant. The bedding and Frette linens were fantastic and it helped me sleep well. You also get a bottle of water EVERYTIME you pick up your car from the valet! I actually really like this since the only thing I could bring to the venue were sealed water bottles! Wifi was good, great for work and meetings. For a 5-star hotel, it wasn’t amazing compared to what I had heard. Might pass next time I’m in SF.

Spacious and always clean rooms and bathrooms. Well equipped kitchen! We cooked full meals and kept wine in the kitchen. The location was also perfect near the water. Quiet and safe neighborhood, great for kids! Will definitely come back next visit!

Location-excellent, what I think is a relatively safe area. Walked about a mile to the alcaztraz tour at pier 33. Great restaurants. Fitness center is top notch. Service fantastic all around. Views are ridiculous at the upper levels. Food in room and restaurant second to none. This hotel is worth the money and it wasn’t as much as many FS.

Another disappointing experience. The booking price was more than 4,000 and one night. I thought it was better than Liz. The result was that I found a Samsung hotel and the front desk offered two thousand. Two big and one small gave two single bed rooms, the front desk means to act according to the order. She has no responsibility. The room we booked is wrong. The problem is that Ctrip can answer that I have paid such a high price. I can't get the corresponding service because I chose the wrong one? At checkout, there was an additional $30 in facility fees per day, but the Ritz Hotel did not. According to Ctrip's regulations, this fee is paid separately by me. Ctrip defines the rules as perfect for themselves, without any problems. I just want to remind you that it is very simple for me. I paid a high premium. My expectation is to get better service. I can live comfortably in two big and small, I will not spend too much time researching. How big is the bed, and there is an extra cost to pay. Where can I provide a satisfactory reservation service, I am going to book it, but Ctrip is obviously not. Thank you, goodbye Ctrip.

I used to be a frequent guest at the W SF back when it was Starwood but had not visited since Marriott took over the W Brand. I did try and stay last year but before arriving I read that the restaurant was closed and I asked the hotel what they were doing as an alternative, but they had absolutely nothing for Platinum Breakfast (other than 1k points per stay which is a HUGE downgrade), so I opted for another hotel. I had high expectations for this stay as I had previously loved this hotel, but as a frequent traveler in Marriott brands and having one of their Highest Elite traveler statuses (and staying at W Brands lately), I knew service levels were still suffering post pandemic. Unfortunately, it started low right from the beginning. I had confirmed a Studio Suite in advance. When I arrived, I was given a corner room that almost seemed smaller than standard rooms (Room 2109). I inquired about upgrades to larger rooms, and I was told no, because it was a busy weekend, and nothing would be available. I checked on the app and saw that every room type was available for the length of my stay and beyond. I was basically DOWNGRADED. Once settling into the room, then I realized the major issues. Smaller rooms should be easier to clean, right? Well, this one not only had carpet stains, but I quickly found out that the ”Marriott Commitment to Clean” was actually a Commitment to Ignore. Not only were their stains on the carpet and dust and dirt in the windowsills, I found a previous guest's room keys sitting on the counter. Obviously, the room was just ”re-set” and not inspected or cleaned at all. I guess the promised sanitizing was out of the question. We then went to get some ice and noticed that the ice bucket was half filled with standing water. It was disgusting! Thats not the worst part, I then found a pair of women's ”play-style” lingerie slightly soiled sitting on the floor by the sofa. I mentioned the cleanliness issues to the Front Desk, but the representative simply stared at me and then asked if there was anything else I needed? I should have been a bit more insistent that they take it down, but I was so shocked I did not. The room setup, although smaller than what I wanted and pre-confirmed, was also not great. There is no storage at all other than the closet. There are no drawers at all or other places to keep clothes or anything else. If you have two suitcases, you are going to have to keep them out as there is no place to put them in the closet. Other than the Front Desk and Room Condition, we had a nice stay, although the Room is really what we paid for. The rest of the staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. The breakfast staff were great, and the food was amazing! Kudos for them for sure! Actually, the only place I was every recognized or thanked for being a Marriott Elite was from the hostess at Breakfast. If you love the experience of a European hostel with the comforts and convenience of an American lodging, this is the place to go. For starters, Space: the common room which I assume used to be a ballroom is very spacious and serves as dining as well.(btw, don’t miss the complimentary breakfast they offer in the morning.) the ample seating serves as a great atmosphere for meeting other people. While other people complain about how dated the decor is, I think it adds to the homeliness and novelty of it. Plenty of solo use bathrooms on each floor. And the beds are quite spacious. Location:it’s situated right next to Chinatown which is great for when you’re craving a quick Dimsum. It’s also a nice 15 minute walk to the piers. I would absolutely suggest using the trams to get to the west side of of San Francisco ie the bridge or presidio, but I’m a walker so it took me a good 1.5 hours which was a good workout. Staff: they were very friendly and informative as well as helpful so absolutely no complaints there. Security: I believe the doors stay locked after 1800 which require code or fob access. They make you wear a tag to identify you as a lodger which is added security. All in all a great experience, I would definitely come back here for my San Francisco trips.it’s by far one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in.

The hotel staff were very accommodating with our request around our travel arrangements. Room was comfortable and spacious even with us as a family of 4- and we had older children in our family - so not small children! Very clean, good resources and equipment in the room. Slight down side was inability to open window due to room location and security as on the urban /street side but the positive is less road noise and the air conditioning worked perfectly on the few occasions we did use it. Smart clean and simple yet functional decor and furnishings. Good outside spaces to relax. Good space downstairs for games placed in situ - such as monopoly etc. Water and ice readily available on each floor. Nice to see efforts towards not using single use plastic. Plenty of access to water and little treats in the reception area. Plenty of coffee in room and accessible coffee downstairs at reception early morning . Staff responsiveness was brilliant- reception and front of house/door service staff . They are very busy but really make an effort to assist you where possible. Friendly and helpful- really great service and friendly response which was so welcoming for tired travellers! And so helpful with our leaving/check out arrangements and luggage storeage.

Close to Fisherman's Wharf and restaurants. The $30 daily ”hotel fee” seemed a bit much for a ”free” bottle of water and internet access. They could have at least included free coffee in the lobby. We did take advantage of the nice bikes, so we got our money's worth. Room smelled fresh every day and didn't have that musty smell you sometimes have after a few days. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Usually don't stay at Hyatt, but would definitely return to this one.

We only stayed one night but it was ideal for catching the hop on hop off bus and walking along the piers at Fisherman's Wharf. There was no breakfast served, as there were renovations going on but we found a great cafe nearby which served a great breakfast. We also found a lovely seafood restaurant for our dinner. I thought that it was very expensive for the facilities on offer but we booked it on the advice of our travel agent who had also stayed there and advised that the price was average for an American hotel near to Fisherman's Wharf.

Lovely hotel, in a great location, good access for the city, comfortable with great communal spaces. The staff are all really friendly and helpful, 2 people of note to mention The guy behind the bar is brilliant, knowledgable, friendly and funny, a real pleasure. There is a (really) young lady on reception/check-in, she is lovely and I don't want to knock her, but she needs more training, her default is to say no to everything, not because she is being difficult, I just don't think she has the knowledge or authority to find solutions. It makes it frustrating for me as the customer and I'm sure, for her, trying to deal with people and not resolving issues. It makes you avoid her and wait for someone else to deal with. The Concierge and Valet Parking staff were brilliant, took away all the thinking on parking and restaurants etc. We would definitely stay here again if in San Fransisco

Reserved here for 10 days July 26 2022. We thought the place might be OK at ~$200/night. There were remarkable problems. 1) ”Free” parking meant, ”don't use your car or you may come back to a full lot”. 2) There were NO drawers. I am serious. nothing under the TV, no side tables, and nothing in the closet. I have never stayed in a place with no drawers! 3) Did I say no side tables? There were little wooden ”flappers” nailed into the bedstead on each side maybe to place a drink. And one of them was cracked so we had to use a suitcase as a night stand. 4) Three hangers in the closet, and the closet door alternated as a bathroom door depending on your needs. So this place is right on the wharf, location-location, but it sucks. We managed to get out of our reserves for only one extra night penalty and move several blocks away to a Travelodge (Lombard St) which was the same price with none of these problems. Please stay away from the Wharf Inn and enjoy your stay.
