I am Marriott Titanium Lifetime. I have traveled around the world and stay loyal to Marriott as much as possible when I travel. I stayed here for a last minute and urgent business meeting this August. I was traveling with my wife who requires a service dog. Our service dog is elderly and we are training his replacement. While I did mention the service dog before booking the room, I was charged a $250 cleaning fee without any advanced notice and only saw the charge after the fact on a receipt that goes to my corporate expense account. I tried 4 times to contact the manager through Marriott Customer Service and did not receive a return call or email as promised. Finally, someone at Marriott was able to get an explanation to my dispute of the charge. They agreed I was allowed the service dog but charged me because I had 2. The room was spotless when I left and there was no reason for the excessive charge. I pleaded with the manager to consider a one time waiver of the charge as I did not know they had an issue with 2 service dogs (I am sure I could pursue this legally but not worth my time). The manager refused. It is hard enough to travel needing a service animal but for this hotel to make it that much harder is an insult. Don't stay here if you have any disabilities. They don't care and only look to profit from your needs. This experience has me questioning my loyalty to Marriott. I have the freedom to choose any brand when I travel and I will be exploring options.

Hotel is clean and appears to be new. We used the Marriott/Bonvoy app (early) check in on Wednesday for a Friday arrival, which appears to be pointless, since I thought it would give me a better chance of getting a room that matched my profile preferences (high floor), but it did not. I instead was placed in an ADA/handicapped room across from the elevators on the third floor, which had an annoying bath seat that wouldn’t fully fold into the wall to make room to shower. After a seven hour drive with three kids and my wife, and carrying all the luggage up, I didn’t feel like going back downstairs to see if they could move us. Next, there were only three bath towels in a room made for six people. Seems like there would be some kind of quality control process for arriving reservations, since you have to enter the number of people in the room, during the reservation process. Then the fold out couch had no bedding. All this compounded the situation when we arrived tired and ready for bed. Thankfully, the staff (housekeeping I think) was quick to bring up bedding and another coffee cup, since the room only had one paper cup. The first morning breakfast was good, but the second morning they ran out of food, milk, etc. All in all, this could be a great place to stay, if they just work through some of the logistics. Surprisingly, the room across from the elevator was reasonably quiet, which was nice.

My complaint number is 9531579 - I originally had a reservation for Sat, July 27, 2019. I called Friday evening to inquire if there were any rooms available for that day and was advised that there was one room. I asked the clerk to add Friday to my reservation and was told it was taken care of. What actually happened was the clerk cancelled my Saturday, July 26, 2019 reservation. When I had the July 26 date added, I was very specific and told the clerk at least three times that we still needed the July 27 reservation as we would be in San Marcos until Sunday. We arrived late Friday night and got our room and then I discovered early Saturday morning that our reservation for Saturday was cancelled and there were no rooms available. I became frantic as I know that most hotels in San Marcos are completely booked on Saturdays during the summer. When I contacted the manager and told him the problem and that I was upset, he told me not to be upset with him as he wasn't responsible and he was there when the clerk cancelled our reservation. He offered to take $15 off our bill and I told him that was not enough for our inconvenience. H asked me what I wanted and I told him to keep my room and my reservation and if not to comp it and to find me a decent hotel as I know there aren't any. I asked why I should be inconvenienced and he had no answer. I asked to contact a customer that had not checked in yet and find them a room and he refused. He found a room at a bed and breakfast on the square. When I told the manager that was not good enough he told me not his problem and hung up on me. I called the complaint line and he did end up taking $40 off our bill, but I feel that was not good enough due to the stress and inconvenience. I called several hotels and they were all booked, so we went to the bed and breakfast and the air went out at about midnight. Our trip was miserable due to the ineptness of the staff at the Comfort Suites. The manager needs to be trained better customer service. We are Choice Members, but after this experience, I am hesitant to stay in another Choice Hotel.

It has been a few days since I left this hotel, and I have been hesitating how to evaluate this hotel. Attached picture 1 is my order, ”74 square meters” ”double room with swimming pool”, the price is 126 US dollars per night. . Figure 2 is a screenshot of a random search on the Ctrip website. It still shows the room area of this hotel. The double bed room is 74 square meters with swimming pool and the super king bed room is 93 square meters with balcony. With the picture, the name of the store is ”Mountain View”. The basic judgment is that this is a good hotel, right? Just for 74 square meters with a swimming pool, the price is about the same, I left another B&B near the lake. However, the actual situation is that the room of the double bed is not big and the lighting is not good. It is a townhouse (about five or six rooms). Let's join together), the window is on the corridor, there is no privacy. The swimming pool is a public swimming pool (the only swimming pool in the hotel, shared by all) outside the corridor of the townhouse, separated by some green plants. ‘74-square-meter double room with swimming pool’ has become ‘18-square-meter pool view’! How big the gap is, I guess you understand it 😓 Where is the problem, Ctrip? Intermediary agent? Hotel? The hotel does not know. The reception area is very small, it is estimated to be 3-4 square meters, there is not even a chair (and can not be placed). . Seeing me surprised, the hotel explained that their positioning is a motel, not a B&B, nor a hotel. Later, I adjusted a room with a balcony (the privacy and lighting are better), which is estimated to be up to 23 square meters (how can it be 93 square meters). . The information on this website is too outrageous and too misleading! Bad review!
