Casa Biulu is a work in progress. It is on the top of the hill so the view is wonderful. The hotel itself, however, is under construction and repair. Our room had issues with the shower and the sink which were immediately fixed by the wonderful LUCIA who is the manager. You have to be in relatively good shape to walk up the hill to the hotel and then walk up and down the stairs at the hotel. Breakfast, which is included, is very basic so don’t expect anything elaborate. Our room did have air conditioning and a good working fan which we appreciated having both. The room was clean but areas outside your room, including the dipping pool and/or pool require more attention. Railings are missing from many of the steeper areas so you want your full faculties walking around the property. The owner of this place is an absentee owner. She would have a real gem on her hands if she would pour more money and time into this place. It would be a heck of a good place to stay if the price was not as high as they’re charging now. Having said that, having air conditioning was a real bonus and you can’t beat the view unless you’re right on the beach. I would stay again mostly because LUCIA was so helpful when anything needed attending to. I would, however, negotiate a better price than what we paid.
