The concept is to renovate village houses into hotel rooms while providing breakfast and other amenities in another building. The rooms were nice, not great, but I still loved the concept. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served at the ”Palazzo” a few hundred meters away on a semi-covered outdoor patio. Breakfast was excellent but in late September it can feel like camping out. Shivering while sipping your coffee is not quite a luxury experience. We were here on a bike tour. We have toured throughout Europe and many times in Italy. This is the very first hotel I have ever encountered which charges to store bikes in a garage: 5 euros per bike per night. We were there for 6 days. I could understand if we had e-bikes that needed to be plugged into a power source, but ours were just leaned against the wall - for 5 euros each per night. Also be aware that the pool is off limits unless you are staying in the Palazzo. And the nice outdoor patio, you can only use it if you buy drinks from the bar. Lastly the staff at the front desk were thoroughly disagreeable. It was as if they didn't understand that we were the guests and their job was to welcome and assist us, not that we asked for much more than room keys. Having said that, the restaurant staff were gracious, friendly and accommodating. Again, I loved the concept, but the execution needs some work. Would I stay here again? Nope.

The place is upscale, no doubts. But that's why you expect a lot from it, especially when you are paying over $400 for a night. And the feeling when you walk out of the front door after 3 days that could have been in paradise is disappointing. Starting with the hard time you have to reach the resort at night, with no proper and adequately lighted signs on the small hillside roads (my navigation stopped working several times due to lack of signal), and a semi-dark fenced gate where you must find a barely visible ring to request access, except that we drove off because we had the impression the place was closed. Then the room: the size of a Manhattan hotel room worth less than $200. Tiny, with no place to even open your luggage and not a shelf in the bathroom to put your beauty case (my wife was very unhappy...). And finally the Restaurant: totally inadequate for such a presumptuous place. A lot of fancy dish names, but no substance at all. We ordered a Tuscany lentil soup that tasted like lentils straight out of a can without any seasoning. Had to flood it with parmesan to get a slight sense of taste. The tagliata was equally tasteless and far from the great Tuscany tradition of superb beef meat. Deserts mediocre and totally forgettable. As for the positives: breakfast is rich and attractive, with handy fruit/vegetable centrifuges to make by yourself delicious juices to start your day on the right foot, and plenty of other offers, mostly healthy and tasty. But the pools are the real attraction, or better, the spring water is the real attraction. The pools are pools: maybe you would expect something more ”nature-shaped” rather than a large rectangular standard pool, but the water itself is quite attractive, warm and soothing. It's fun to locate the bubbling spots and spend time there, letting the bubbles tickle your body while you float with the help of long styrofoam sausages. It smells like sulphur but not overwhelmingly. The personnel is generally courteous and respectful. And most importantly, people seem to adapt to the rule of silence and even if the pool gets somewhat crowded at times, you are rarely disturbed by noisy or chatty guests. Overall a mixed experience, but certainly not up to the expectations for the price.

I booked a classic room, not in the main building, But the website did not explain this situation, and the other rooms in the main building are more beautiful, and it feels more advanced, it feels like a hotel. The classic room type is like a homestay, unlike the feeling of a hotel. It is a few steps away from the main building. There are two rooms in the classic room type. There is a public living room. It has to share the living room part with the guests in another room. Although the living room is basically not used... But it is not the feeling of a five-star four-star hotel at all. Although the hotel staff is courteous and the service is very good, I feel not satisfied with this room here, and I don’t attach expectations, because it seems to live in B&B. The room is clean, Breakfast to walk to the main building of the hotel opposite the place, not in the main building, but very close... Among them, the photo is to go up the stairs to enter the room after the door, and the public living room is outside the door. None of this could be possible without people: Helena, the architect of the project, her gracious husband and partner Eduardo and Laura, Eduardo's mother, a sommelier, great host and keeper of recipes I am trying to acquire. I registered for three days, stayed for five and left because I had other commitments. Location is ideal for the Brunello experience in Montalcino, the Pecorino cheese phenomenon of Pieza (look for the shop jammed with eager customers), the compelling hill town of Montepulciano and numerous other Tuscany villages, restaurants and lovely folks. Terrific value, very comfortable and well appointed interior design. The villa is in the beautiful hills just outside the pleasant town of Buonconvento.

1. The location of the hotel is very good. It takes a minute to walk to the historical sights. 2. The hotel has a free parking lot. At the basement level, you have to go around the back of the hotel to park. After parking, there are stairs to go up. 3. The hotel breakfast is also good, and the dinner also has local characteristics. The only thing that felt uncomfortable was that I lived on the third floor and there was no direct elevator. The elevator only went to the second floor, and there was a long corridor to get to the room. Not many guests settled in. Quiet, plus the classical-style rooms. , I feel scared at night. Overall it is quite satisfactory.

We had our wedding here from 30th June - 1st July. We booked the venue more than 2.5 years in advance and worked with Antonella throughout the entire process. She was amazing to work with and highly recommend having a wedding at the borgo! We rented out the entire property exclusively for ourselves & guests for the weekend. The grounds are so beautiful with views from the entire borgo. The rooms are also very nice with a rustic Tuscan feel. Antonella and the entire Borgo staff worked with us to make our wedding weekend perfect. Last minute, we had to change the dinner location due to rain, and the staff was quick to rearrange all of the tables to inside. I had guests coming up to me saying this was the best wedding they had ever been to. We will be returning to the Borgo for our anniversary!
