Mae Jo Golf Resort & Spa

A very nice hotel and quiet. The staff was fantastic. I would like to especially thank Khemanan Kaewphaitoon (I believe he goes by Fang). I injured my back and he went above and beyond in helping me get to my next location. He even took the time to call my the hotel I was staying at the day after I left to check on how I was doing and see if I needed anything. He was fantastic. He also spoke great English and helped arrange transportation while I was staying there. The restaurant staff was also very friendly.

Good stay. Accommodating staff, lovely grounds and golf course, nice pool area, and great breakfast at the golf clubhouse restaurant. I came for some quiet after being around Bangkok for a few weeks, so I knew I was away from the city, however, be advised that you’ll need a car to get around if you want to go places. Grab drivers are not keen on going out that far. They are upgrading the property as well, which I would like to see when finished, but the workers are not causing any disturbances. Recommended

Golf course in average condition and poor value for money. Arrived at Mae Jo and encountered a nice modern clubhouse with clean locker room and good facilities. This changed as we started playing. Fairways and tee boxes were quite well maintained but the greens were in very poor condition and very inconsistent. The inclusive cost of 2800 baht that we paid was far more than Alpine 1800 baht and Gassan Legacy 1200 baht. No wonder there weren’t many players.

Place is so peaceful, which fits my introverted personality. Staff are warm and nice. The breakfast buffet tastes good. The room is clean and cozy with complete essentials. It was such a great stay given that it's my first time in Chiang Mai. I am so thankful that we were able to have the same room for this additional 1 day booking. Staff are accommodating, and despite I can't speak Thai, they communicate well and attend to our needs. We also got our souvenir Titleist cap with Maejo embroidery, which we're happy about!

I hired a buggy and they wanted me to sign an indemnity form that if ANY damage to the buggy I had to pay for ANY damage. I said I’m not signing it under any circumstances, then many bosses appeared and said I can drive buggy, I said no as that’s what I’m paying the caddy for. One of the bosses said you are not a Thai local and then I showed her my Thai drivers license and said I live in Thailand. I’m not sure why she asked that? As they don’t like confrontation nothing was said, I decided to walk, therefore be aware that if you hire a buggy, you have to pay for all damage driving or not driving the buggy. Not a good way to run a golf course. I’ve played other courses in Chiang Mai and Thailand and have never been asked to sign for damage to the buggy. Great course but will never return.
