Best Hotels in San Siro

We enjoyed 5 great nights at the Hotel Bellavista, which is centrally located within easy walking distance from the ferries. The front desk staff were incredibly helping, as we were hiking in the area and need advice on transportation. We loved the terrace in the afternoons, watching the ferries and partaking in the best aperaol spritzes in Menaggio! The bar staff were welcoming, friendly and extremely hardworking. Everyone at the hotel was very professional and accommodating. Our room overlooking the lake, was large and well adorned. Hotel Bellavista is a gem in the lovely town of Menaggio!!

The location is excellent, the first row by the lake, the surrounding restaurants are full of wine, the fly in the ointment is that there is no refrigerator in the room. It is suitable for self-driving, but the blue paid parking space is not easy to find during the peak hours of the holiday. Not to mention the white free one. When you are 400 meters away from the hotel, you will pay attention and there will be a parking space. The hotel does not have a valet parking service. Please inform the license plate number when you check in, otherwise it will fall into the forbidden zone and the ticket will be severe.

It is not often that you find one of those true gems of a hotel. This is one of them. This is the hotel that you will tell people to stay in if they visit the lake Como area. The hotel is right on the lake. You should definitely choose a lake facing room. The scenery is breath taking. The hotel is in a quiet village away from the hectic and chaos of other towns around the lake. Argegno has plenty of excellent places to eat. Argegno is a quant village to explore. There is a ferry stop about 50 metres from the hotel. It is on the bus route. There is parking at the hotel. The rooms are very clean. If you are a four or five star hotel person, don’t let the three stars put you off. I think the three stars are only because there isn’t someone at the front desk during the night, you are given a key to get back into the hotel if you will be out after 10:30pm. This is an ‘oh wow!’ hotel.

On the plus side, Hotel Bazzoni has a wonderful location, a very good view from the room balconies over Lake Como, and a terraced garden going up the hill with several swimming pools and bars. Included breakfast and a buffet supper which was good. The bar on the ground floor is also stunning. On the minus side, ***y things about the hotel are wanting. When we arrived, we were told it was fully booked and our reservation had been transferred to the sister (and much cheaper) hotel Britannia down the road. We were taken down to see it, but the room was dank and nasty, after a hard argument they agreed to reinstate us in Bazzoni. We were also chased on the final day to check out promptly - our Trip.com booking was for 11am check out but we got a call at 10.30 telling us this had been moved forward to 10am and we needed to check out promptly as they had ***y arrivals that day. The room also lacked water, coffee/tea-making facilities and slippers, and everything extra is chargable - including 5 EUR for an additional keycard (non-refundable...) and 2 EUR for a jug of water at supper. On balance, I would avoid this hotel in future - but if you chose it, come ready to argue for what you already paid for.

Over 5 stars for service! I would like to specially acknowledge Nipa who was so helpful and took great care of us during our stay in Varenna. I was sick and she worked with my wife to arrange an appointment with a doctor nearby. She walked with us to the clinic and helped to provide translation for me at the doctor. I’ve stayed at hundreds of hotels before. Never have I ever seen someone go above and beyond to care for us. The management should be proud to have her be a part of their team. Also I would like to acknowledge Euness who was very helpful in taking care of us when the air conditioning had stopped working. Luca, Lavianna, and Nicolette at the front desk were also very kind and helpful. We had a memorable stay here at Hotel Villa Cipressi because of the stellar service we received. I will definitely recommend this hotel.

The room I occupied as a single with view of the lake was great. My remarks concern the poor quality of lunch and dinner. The risotto was bland and tasteless despite spoonfuls of parmesan cheese. It would have been easy to add some spices and pepper. The salad with its dressing of olive oil and vinegar from a sachet was not good. At dinner I had fish & soft chips, no cooked vegetables are available, only a salad. The potatoe chips should have been fried longer to make them crispy. Make melanzane parmigiani. The red wine offered gave me a stomache ache. By all means, stay, but eat elsewhere.

my wife and I visited the hotel during winter. It was not crowded and we were the only ones who had dinner at the hotel restaurant that night. The food is good. what i want to stress the most is that the view from my lakeview room is stunning. i believe it has the best view out of all the hotels in Bellagio given its location and altitude. With the room, view and service we got, it is safe to say it has the greatest value for money out all my 9-day stay in Italy.

Felt the need to leave a review, which is rare but because of the amount of research I did prior to our trip to Lake Como and reading the many positive reviews of this hotel, my only hope is that this helps someone spending the same time and energy before their travels. You’ll read within other reviews that the view and location are incredible, this is true, but that’s about all the good that is offered. While the rooms are old, the beds are pretty uncomfortable and the bathrooms resemble a motel, the worst offering (or lack of offering) is the customer service. The reception does not answer the phone, ever. If you get them to answer buy a lottery ticket. One evening we departed for dinner in Bellagio and noticed that the last ferry returning back to the hotel was right before 8pm, much too early. We inquired about how to get back to the hotel after our meal and the receptionist informed us that we could take the ferry to a neighboring town (2 miles away) and to call the hotel when we were on the way and they would arrange a taxi, perfect plan if the hotel answers the phone. Lake Como travel is not easy, the ferry schedules are inconsistent and you aren’t able to easily access the best parts without a vehicle, the hotel made zero effort to assist us in transportation needs and when we would inquire about direction, recommendations, etc there was hardly any given. It became so bad that we inquired about a concierge, but the receptionist informed us that she was there to serve as such…. Lacking qualifications to say the least. We paid $350/night, we understand this is likely a steal of a deal given the hotels views and location and that’s fair, but for this hotel to be classified as a four-star property makes me question the validity of the system and if you’re still reading this review, pay the extra $100-150/night and stay somewhere else for the service alone. You’ll be glad you did.

Ho prenotato tramite booking un breve soggiorno di 3 notti con il mio compagno, in questo ”boutique hotel di lusso” (questa la definizione che riportano sia sul sito che sulla pagina Instagram) , rassicurata anche dalle belle recensioni. La posizione dell'hotel non è delle più suggestive -su una statale trafficata - ma è certamente pratica in quanto si trova praticamente a cavallo tra le province di Sondrio, Lecco e Como, dunque un ottima base per poter visitare molti punti di interesse. Comunque intorno ci sono le montagne, quindi un pochino di vista c'è. L'hotel si presenta carino, uno strano misto di moderno e shabby chic, ma è un boutique hotel, ci può stare. La camera, al primo piano, non è immensa ma neanche angusta, lcatmosfera è piacevole. Arredamento essenziale ma non banale. L'armadio non è grandissimo ma sufficiente per i bisogni di pochi giorni, ci sono cassaforte, frigobar (anche se solo con due bottiglie di acqua) e bollitore con una buona selezione di tè e caffè. Il bagno è spazioso, con doccia walk in. Veniamo alle note dolenti. Innanzitutto la pulizia, decisamente insufficiente. Polvere sulle superfici, in particolare sul porta rotolo della carta igienica e sul phon in dotazione e sui comodini, e una macchia vischiosa marrone non identificata in prossimità del frigobar. Le pareti presentano segni di sporco e deterioramento, in particolare in bagno. La doccia walk in, è forse troppo piccola per questo tipo di configurazione, o forse il soffione non è nella giusta collocazione (esattamente a ridosso dell'apertura) pertanto è letteralmente impossibile fare una doccia senza allagare il pavimento e schizzare acqua sul muro non piastrellato accanto alla doccia e sulla piantana porta salviette. Ciliegina sulla torta, la stanza si affaccia su UNA TERRAZZA IN COMUNE. In pratica, non essendoci alcun tipo di divisorio, i tuoi vicini di stanza possono passeggiare liberamente davanti alla tua portafinestra, dunque privacy zero e zero anche la possibilità di tenere aperto. Qualità del sonno buona, grazie anche alla buona insonorizzazione delle stanze, ma il canalizzato dell'aria è un pochino più rumoroso di quanto dovrebbe. Speravo che la mezza delusione per la camera venisse comunque compensata dalla colazione, ma purtroppo non è stato così. Dei vassoi traboccanti di cibo visti su booking, neanche l'ombra. Varietà e quantità tra le più sc**** che mi sia mai trovata davanti. Intuisco che il buffet viene allestito all'inizio e non più rifornito... La parte dolce consiste in due buone torte fatte in casa , una, massimo due varietà di croissant, yogurt sia sfuso che confezionato, frutta, cereali e semi, marmellate sfuse, miele e cioccolata spalmabile (non Nutella). Se si arriva presto, si può trovare una piccola pila di pancakes che però, purtroppo, sono posizionati su un piatto senza copertura, davanti alla portafinestra aperta sul giardino, quindi subito freddi e alla mercé di vespe ed altri insetti. La parte salata, abbastanza drammati
