Reviews of Shalimar Cottages and Motel

We stayed only one night, but there will definitely be more in the future. The property was new and very well kept. The staff were polite and easy to approach, and definitely made us feel welcome. The easy short-walk proximity to the beach, to the pool, as well as short drives to restaurants and stores were great. The studio-style room was large, clean, had a very comfortable large bed, full-size oven and refrigerator, as well as a HUGE TV, a couch, table, and a screened balcony. The bathroom and walk-in shower was well-sized and had very soft towels provided. Parking was great as the spots were under the building. We were extremely impressed, and if we hadn't made plans with friends on FMB, we would've easily spent a week here. In short, The Shalimar is OUTSTANDING.

What a lovely hotel. My room, in the Seahorse building, was lovely and spacious although I didn't spend much time in it because the screened porch was so comfortable. It was a great place to watch the sun set, the moon rise and the water lap the shore. The facilities were just what I needed: a peaceful pool, with chairs in and around it, and chairs light enough to move around on the beach. The hotel is designed with many thoughtful touches, such as hooks on the porch to allow swimsuits to dry, convenient placement of light switches and dual shower heads.

We had a fabulous first- time experience at this beautiful resort! The manager, owner and office staff were so kind and accommodating and treated you like family. Their saltwater pool was divine, and we swam there daily. It was very convenient being able to go to the office and pick up needed supplies, change of towels, etc. Our one-bedroom villa was well stocked with everything you could think of, including a clothes steamer. We rented a beach umbrella and loungers, and fresh pool towels were available daily. We only encountered no-see-ums a handful of times at dusk when the wind died down. The wrist band waterproof bracelet was very convenient. The entire resort was very quiet and relaxing. We had many wonderful dining experiences, including Timbers (twice) Doc Fords, newly opened Bubble Room, Tuti-Pazzi and Mudbugs (both with excellent music) Dantes and Cielo. Highly recommend Captiva Cruises (Cabbage Key lunch cruise). The beautiful boat ride alone was worth the price of admission watching the dolphins swim alongside. With each passing year post Hurricane Ian, it is remarkable to see how much this beautiful island has bounced back.

The location was great and the kids liked it. I think if you have young kids it's an ideal set up. The design of the pool worked very well for my 4 year old who like water but can't swim

Nous étions venus plusieurs fois avant le cyclone de 2022. La rénovation est incroyablement réussie. Bravo à toute votre l’équipe et merci de votre accueil.

Le Shalimar est un établissement tout neuf profitant d’une plage magnifique . La villa deux chambres est immense, décorée avec soi et a tout l’équipement nécessaire. Nous sommes venus par hasard et nous avons été subjugués par la beauté des lieux. La piscine est d’une température parfaite et les serviettes moelleuses. La plage est grandiose et la vue du coucher de soleil depuis la villa inoubliable. Merci à cet établissement pour sa gentillesse, sa discrétion et la qualité de l’hébergement.
