Grand Hotel la Pace - All Inclusive

Sant'Agnello|1.13km from city center
Stayed as part of a tour group - Led by TUI. Hotel lobby is gorgeous - But that is as far as it goes I'm afraid. Hotel is tired and worn out sadly. Needs a major overhaul to bring it up to a 5 star standard. At best I'd give it 3 stars. It is certainly not 5 star at all. I'm amazed that none of us were unwell. The food hygiene standards were appalling - Nothing was ever hot with no temperature monitoring and food was just left out after being cooked or very obviously reheated from the day before. No alcohol gel available anywhere in the buffet with 50-70+ guests sharing the same serving impliments. Saw the chef handle meat with bear hands after wiping his nose right infront of me! Rooms tired, worn and smelly. As was the the indoor 'velvet' bar area which I'm sad to say smelt of sewage. Shower cubical in my room was full of mould. Bear wires exposed and scratches to surfaces. The whole of the sun terrace (which is not like the hotel photos at all!) has ONE parasol. yes ONE (mouldy) parasol. The photos on the website are clearly of many days past and of absolutely no resemblance to the actual hotel so please do not be fooled. No soap in the pool bar toilets for three days - Had to ask for it to be stocked which was met with much distain. I asked if there was a chance if I could access a room for 1/2 an hour to shower as I had a very late flight back to the UK. No chance whatsoever. Was told to use the gym shower (in the basement) with open access to all with a flimsy shower curtain for privacy. As a single female traveller this was not approriate at all. I had to have an argument in order to access a complimentry room (I would have gladly paid to do so) but I had to call TUI in order for my very reasonable request to be granted. In all my years travelling - I've never known a hotel not offer this as standard! the hotel management literally had to be forced into doing so by TUI. I was also charged twice for the tourism tax and again had to argue for the second charge to be taken off as it was per person and not per room (I had a double room). Sorrento is gorgeous - And there are far nicer places to stay. I wouldn't go back nor would I recommend to friends or family. Very poor indeed.

Lovely hotel, spotlessly clean, small double room with large balcony. Housekeeping was excellent with fresh towels daily. Staff all very nice and friendly. Pool was fine for the size of the hotel. Roof terrace was excellent, on 2 levels with plenty sunbeds and 2 showers....Great views from here., especially when you first see Mt Vesuvius from here. The railway line is very close but you really don't hear it. The food, we were half board, 1st holiday in Italy, we felt it was very basic. Breakfast was fruit juice, yoghurts, fruit, cereal, sliced ham, sliced cheese, bread (available toastie machine though this only warmed the bread), eggs(boiled or scrambled), beans, croissants, rolls, marmalade, cakes and coffee/tea machine. You were given dinner menu to select your meal for later that day, usually 3 starters, 1 of which was soup and other 2 were pasta dishes, 4 mains, consisting of 1 meat, 1 fish, 1 pasta and 1 salad, 1 sweet and bread/butter. Drinks available which got charged to room. Bill to pay on last night of holiday including city tax €2/night per person. We found the food adequate but just felt it let a great little gem of a hotel down. Hotel is well placed, 5 mins walk to S'Agnello Station, costs €1.49 one way to Sorrento takes about 5 mins to get there or you can walk along main road 25 mins. We did a few tours though we organised them ourselves...as cheaper. Went to Capri on ferry, €20 each way...loads to do there but be prepared for the massive queues. Also did Amalfi and Positano by ferry €40 return, gorgeous views. Booked Pompeii and Mt Vesuvius bus tour, excellent. Also took train €10 return to Castellammare di Stabia and took cable car €9 return up Mt Faito. Views were stunning everywhere we went. Several small shops, bars and restaurants all 5/10 mins walk of hotel and also lovely church.

Unconventional Sorrento Coast
4.7/556 Reviews
This hotel was formerly a convent and is adjacent to a beautiful church, and the setting is serene and beautiful. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the staff are so accommodating and helpful that you could not ask for more. The room my wife and I stayed in was lovely and the bed was so comfortable. The breakfast was excellent with a wide choice and the coffee was delicious. The staff were warm and friendly and the service given was among the best we’ve ever experienced. There is complimentary wi-fi ( a rarity these days with most establishments charging a small premium) . We had a lovely stay which was predominantly down to the staff and in particular a lovely lady named Theresa who always went out of her way and was so accommodating. Although the hotel is listed as a “Three Star” it feels like a “5 Star”. Stunning , and would not hesitate to stay here again.
Hotel Corallo Sorrento
4.4/554 Reviews
Just spent 3 nights at the Hotel Corallo Sorrento, which is less than a 10 minute drive from downtown Sorrento. We had an Oceanside view with a private terrace. The Sunsets were amazing!!! The room had a decent size for European standards. It was very clean and tastefully furnished and decorated. Bathroom was recently updated. The hotel itself is on the water. Their restaurant has a long terrace adjacent to the ocean. They have a buffet breakfast which is decent. Dinner is served on the terrace. You will want to book about a half hour before sunset. The staff was amazing and always attentive to our needs. We will definitely return.
Hotel Alpha

I had a lovely stay here. All was great, clean room, balcony and hotel staff all excellent and helpful. The reception staff can answer every question there is! You can even arrange excursions from this hotel. I enjoyed a little time in the relaxing beautiful garden. I was on holiday solo with Jet2 from Scotland. I found the Sant Agnello area to be very good also. Firstly it is all flat and easy to walk around, and has a beautiful seafront, churches etc Secondly it has excellent transport links, you can leave this hotel and be standing n Sorrento in around 10 minutes by bus or train for just around 2 Euro. There is therefore no need to walk in the hot weather but you can do if you want, abour 20 mins walk to Sorrento. This is an advantage over some Sorrento hotels where you might be up on the cliff and need taxis etc. There is also a beautiful pool though I didn't have time to swim as I wanted to go to so many places such as Pompeii, Ercolano, Positano , Capri etc all an hour or so away.

Seven Hostel & Rooms
3.8/525 Reviews
I stayed at the seven hostel at the end of May 2021 and I was wonderful by the cleanness, the quality of the individual rooms and the high level of service decent of a very good hotel 3*. The team is also beautiful, Paolo will always be there to give you his good advice from the former tourist guide of the Amalfitaine region, Francesca with his goodness and good deals with the different partners of the hostel, and without forgeting also The rest of the staff laughing, welcome and especially listening to all your needs.
Hotel Mediterraneo

This is the best location for Sorrento to watch the sunset. The hotel breakfast is great, there are about 15 cars in the yard, the parking is relatively adequate, and it takes about 5 minutes to drive to Sorrento. Opposite the hotel there is a platform to watch the sunset, and there is a nice restaurant on the terrace. The seafood pasta is delicious!
