Besides a very basic breakfast (like... Very bad), then you have a room full of humidity and a moldy smell allover the building. Managed to catch a cold while having the AC turned on all night. Corridors smell , are outstandingly cold (colder than the outside). My suggestion is to skip this place completely. By the entrance they have a sofa completely destroyed. The Best representation of how poor the hotel is, can be represented by a paper hanging by the entrance door where the phone number includes a typo making it difficult to reach anyone in casa of emergency - paper has been there for ages and no one has ever noticed - this is how careless, uncurated and complacent is that hotel "management" . Only good point - location is good, view from the rooms is nice and they have a surprisingly good restaurant.

Hotel Ocidental is a clean and simple hotel . Yes it is dated , however super clean, exceptional staff going out of their way to assist. In the bedrooms you will find two single beds - mattress a little hard two pillow each - but all manageable. Recommendations to local restaurants as well Breakfast super simple- which every day included Portuguese buns not always the freshest which you are able to toast Three types is cereal- jams butter as well sliced local cheese and ham Coffee, milk , tea. No vegan options No one left hungry Staff always cleaning and it shows it’s pride View from second floor is stunning. No elevator - you can easily walk to the airport with carry-on - we had lunch across the airport Macau which is a good place to hang out before checking in/ you are 20 min walk to downtown area were you will find some nice restaurants/ make reservations Above all recommend / if you plan to take a day trip to island of Corvo ask staff Carlos owner runs this trip - second to nine strongly recommend as well

1) A room kettle for coffee or tea. There is plenty to drink at breakfast. 2) More choices at breakfast. You will have white rolls, butter, cheese, lunch meat, 3 types of cereal, cold and hot milk, jam. Opens at 7:30AM. Basic hotel, though, with all you need and right on the oceanfront. Large grocery store and small cafe open 7 days a week around the corner from the hotel. Room heater and a nice blanket takes off the chill you can experience in March.

This is an economy hotel in a remote location. The heating system in the room was excellent both for heat and for reducing dampness during the continuous rain we experienced. Room has a great ocean view. The staff was attentive and helpful. The room is consistent with the class of hotel providing very few amenities (hand soap dispenser and bath soap dispenser), hand towels and bath towels. The beds had adequate bedding but were too hard for our taste. The breakfast is very simple and the breakfast room very cold but since there is nothing else nearby it was adequate (lots of coffee). The associated restaurant doesn’t look like much but we found the food to be good.

the worst hotel in the Azores - bar none. no air conditioning. no valet. tv did not work. unhelpful was staff, below average breakfast. we could only bear one night and stayed at the Inatel which was considerably better. Flores however is an amazingly beautiful island as was the side trip to Flores. Later we took the ferry from Horta - Faial to Saint george at dusk which was breath-taking.

Nice hotel. Good price-quality rate. We had a spacious room with balcony with ocean- view and a big bathroom with bath. Convenient facilities: town and airport in walking distance, a gym, swimming pool, restaurant and bar. And very friendly people at the Servicedesk who phoned for a taxi and lent us an umbrella.

The best part of this hotel is the view to the Atlantic Ocean and the proximity to the natural pools, just for this it makes sense to stay there, however, comfort is not included in the price. The mattresses are very old, hard and uncomfortable. As a solo traveler, I wanted at least a full bed and had to sleep in twin beds the two times I stayed there. The breakfast is very poor and basic, not the best quality. It is what it is, I would stay there again just for the view!

I stayed for work, and the suite was reasonable; personally, I don't see the need for a living room within the room. Great views and very friendly staff. We had a tiring day at work and needed dinner, but the hotel didn't have any—no dinner reservations. Fortunately, they managed to improvise some basic, but sufficient and appreciated meals. Overall, a comfortable stay and helpful staff.

A disappointing hotel that doesn't even deserve a 3-star rating. The decor is incredibly dated and unpleasant, and the rooms are very uncomfortable. The breakfast is the worst I've ever seen... very poor, with no local produce, no variety, no quality... peaches in syrup and never any other fruit available, terrible bread and sides, everything is very poor. Service is mediocre, but lacking in character. A disgrace to local tourism.
