Palazzo Belmonte

WOW! A slice of heaven. What a romantic jewel in a unique position with it's own beach tucked away in a beautiful seaside authentic italian village. The views over the sea are amazing - see photos below. The rooms are lovely and airy with high vaulted ceilings and the wifi enabled us to keep on top of the occasional work thing. The Palazzo has a light lunch menu by the pool which suited us perfectly and in the evening we walked out to the restaurants in the village which were all charming. At the Palazzo, the staff bent over backwards to make us feel welcome and particularly the owner in residence, the Princess herself, was there to greet us!!

When you enter the gate of the palazzo Belmonte, you immediately fall in love. The palace is very beautiful, the gardens with all its (lemon) trees and flowers are absolutely magnificent, and don’t forget the most beautiful view as you are overlooking the beach and the sea. You can watch the sunset from the gardens. It is one of the most romantic places! ❤️ Access to the beach is directly from the gardens, very easy, lots of cosy restaurants on walking distance. The village is lovely and also there are beautiful villages and places to see in the area. We stayed here for a week with our 9 months old baby in the beginning of May, and it was perfect for us. We were upgraded to a suite, as the owner, Francesca, thought we could use the extra space with our baby and it was early in the season so not so warm that week. Also a little rain was expected, but this did not bother us at all. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. Francesca was so thoughtful arrange a little baby bath for us, which was very helpful. The room was very spacious with an extra bedroom and two bathrooms. The bed was comfortable and large, my husband is tall so always appreciate a large bed. The weather was around 20 degrees that week, we enjoyed the sun on the beach, the beaches were quiet as it was right before the touristic season. The swimming pool was not open yet, but this did not bother us. The restaurant at the palazzo also was not open yet, so we received our breakfast in the room every morning, on our preferred time. Since we were with our baby, this was actually relaxing and perfect for us. We were warmly welcomed during our stay, our flight was delayed so we arrived quit late in the evening, but the reception waited for our arrival. During our stay we could easily contact the reception in case we needed anything or had any questions. Francesca, gave us some great tips for visits and restaurants, and also help with the reservations. If you love authenticity, romantic surroundings, beach, Italy, privacy and amazing (sea) food, you will love palazzo Belmonte and Castellabate. We had a perfect holidays with our baby, and we will definitely come visit the Palazzo Belmonte again. Thank you Francesca and team for our lovely and memorable stay at the palazzo!

Absolutely amazing! Originally in a Villa with large terrace and sea view, very nice, but after staying a few days was moved into the main building. We had a livingroom with a terrace over the sea and side window with view of the beach and the Old Town above the Palazzo. The staff were all very helpful and the owners, Sarah and her daughter Francesca, were always available for restaurant suggestions, which were many. We were there out of season so no dinner at the Palazzo but plenty of wonderful options just out the door. A car was really not necessary, but 2 hours South of Naples airport. The town had Gelato,pizza, sushi, and a Michelin star restaurant 1861. The old town built into the mountain above also had good restaurants. The pool was great and a nice beach. There are a lot of steps to get to these areas so would be difficult if using a wheelchair. Also most of the rooms have stairs. The grounds are extensive and lovely. WiFi worked well. Would highly recommend especially for a family with children . Can’t wait to go back!

My Aunt and I love the show Hotel Portofino so we wanted to stay in a beautiful Palazzo - and this was perfect! We stayed in the garden rooms overlooking the Mediterranean. I could not ask for a better location on the property. We were right over the pool and walked right down to the water. Gorgeous! Everyone at the hotel was lovely. We enjoyed our aperol spritzes on the beach and by the pool as well. We walked into town at night for great seafood dinners. The town is charming and cute. We also went to Agropoli by taxi. (really cool to visit the town by the Byzantine gate at the top) If you want to relax and take in the southern Italian life at an English run Palazzo - this is the place! (I believe the Duke who owns it is cousins with the Queen)

Property is stunning and view was incredible. The room was a dream. Two small issues: there were ants and I could not get hot water in my beautiful tub to take a bath

What a fantastic Hotel amazing grounds, right on the beach, 2 minutes to the town and yet you feel you are in the middle of nowhere while in the hotel. It is so so relaxing a perfect hotel. We will be back

It was an amazing trip for my family. The atmosphere of the hotel is peaceful and relaxing. The views from our rooms were breathtaking and beautiful! Moreover, the hotel offers delicious breakfasts and provides guests with snacks and lunch later on. Overall, the hotel has a pretty big territory with awesome gardens and I must admit that our rooms were spacious with the 18 centuries atmosphere

Amazing historical palace with great beachfront views and beautiful garden.

On arrival waited 1.1/2 hours for my bags. Room was lovely and bed very comfortable. Beautiful view. The pool restaurant wasn’t great. My husband’s pasta was awful. Being Italian we expected so much better. Waited over an hour. Beach area ok. Plenty of beds. Overall we enjoyed our stay even though my sister in law had to show the bar staff how to make certain drinks.
