El Ensanche Zona Nueva
Style over substance - stayed one night after walking the Camino. Room modern but hotel is located near Galicia Plaza and is central so noisy both day and night, especially when Spain sleeps in the afternoon and stays up late evening. 4th floor room - tiny window up high so no view at all and hemmed in ; no information on either - yes 2 safes in the wardrobe- so no idea as to how many digits needed etc; shower - v v v marginal gap between running v hot or cold, impossible to get a medium temperature; second shower couldnt get the shower switch (you pulled under the tap) to stay so had to wash in 2 inches of water in the bath - hence appearance over practicality. QR code takes you to hotel info - thoroughly fed up with that and using phone battery / space etc plus had to go to reception for wifi code as not in room. Wifi didnt work in restaurant in basement.

Old Town
The hotel itself is also a scenic spot, right next to the church. It is easy to get lost in the back-shaped corridor, so you must find a good direction first when you get out of the elevator. Every corner of the hotel is decorated in a very simple and simple way. If you don't arrange anything for a day, you can just stay in the hotel. In the middle of the week when it is not the peak season, the room was already ready for check-in at 8:00 in the morning. It was a surprise, so I quickly took a shower and went out refreshingly. The breakfast is also very good. Although the breakfast room is not big, it is well arranged.

Old Town
We come for the atmosphere, as this authentic place is so special to stay in. It was once a seminary, so to get the full experience it's best to spend several nights here. We always ask for the rooms that are just for 2 people (as some are pilgrim rooms with bunk begs, so check when booking) It's quite basic which is fine & the same can be said for the dining (breakfast & dinner, served in the old refectory) but that's all part of the experience. Location could not be better as it's facing the Cathedral of St James in the centre of the old city. It's really good value & it's a great place to meet interesting people from all walks of life & all parts of the world. This year the only thing that was not quite there was the lounge/coffee area was still closed (after the pandemic) & as this is the area where everywhere mixes after some very weary travelling to swap stories, well...we missed it. Otherwise all was really good as usual!

El Ensanche Zona Nueva
Located about 15 minutes walk to the main old town Cheap and name is hostel but it's a hotel with a separate bathroom. Soundproofing is a little bit, but it seems to be unavoidable because of the old building characteristics. It was comfortable to stay

El Ensanche Zona Nueva
I have stayed in this hotel many many times. It has been my favorite place to rest after a couple of long weeks on The Camino de Santiago. The place is centrally located in Plaza de Galicia. The bus from the airport, stops in front of the hotel, making it extremely convenient. The bus station and the train station are a short 10 minutes walk away. The staff, Mr. Victor, Mr. Ramon, Mr. Ramon, and Jessica, make sure everything is great. THANK for everything you have done to make sure my Camino ended with a wonderful experience. Looking forward to be back in 2023!!

Old Town
Conveniently located on the edge of the old town, Atalaia B&B is a 3-minute walk from a parking garage and 7 minutes from the cathedral. We upgraded to a superior double which turned out to be one of the largest rooms we had on our trip. The room blends refined modern touches with ancient architectural elements such as a gigantic granite fire place and sink. The room has plenty of storage space and outlets for charging electronics and a strong Wi-Fi connection. There was no safe or coffee and tea service. The bathroom is small, very small, but functioned reasonably well with some counter space around the sink. The small shower had good water pressure and hot water but did have a drain problem with water running into the bathroom if you weren’t careful. The breakfast buffet was a modest affair with just a couple of choices of bread, sliced fruit, cheese, ham, jam, cereal, cake, croissants, yogurt and juice. Good coffee was from a self-serve machine.
