The hotel itself is also a scenic spot, right next to the church. It is easy to get lost in the back-shaped corridor, so you must find a good direction first when you get out of the elevator. Every corner of the hotel is decorated in a very simple and simple way. If you don't arrange anything for a day, you can just stay in the hotel. In the middle of the week when it is not the peak season, the room was already ready for check-in at 8:00 in the morning. It was a surprise, so I quickly took a shower and went out refreshingly. The breakfast is also very good. Although the breakfast room is not big, it is well arranged.

We were looking forward to our two days after walking the Camino. Staff were excellent and professional. Terrible musty smell on the 2nd Floor. Huge stains on the hallway floor. Sauna broken,and no heat in rooms, just A/C. Cold in the room the last night we stayed. When we arrived the A/C was not working,till maintenance arrived. I have worked in hotels alot of my life, this was disappointing especially as it was exspensive. Its a shame as im sure it was fantastic when it opened, the company needs to spend some money and give their customers a 5 star experience.

Hotel is in a great location and near all the main tourist areas, and also shops, bars and restaurants. I was very disappointed about the staff at the hotel. On check-in, after waiting about 10 minutes as the receptionist typed on her computer, we eventually got our room keys. Staff were not very welcoming and did not tell us anything about the hotel, facilities, breakfast room or the Pool. When we got to the room, we found that we didnt have a bath-tub (which was why I booked that room), no robe and no slippers. Mini-bar was empty with a sign saying it was closed due to Covid safety. I have no idea what Covid safety has to do with it. No other hotel I was in in Spain has had excuse. Also, no water in the room. No sanitisers in the room either. When I called reception to enquire, she said she would send water up, and then we had to sign to pay 4 Euro for the bottle. Terrible service, how can a hotel not provide water to their guest. This is coming from an expensive 5 star hotel. On checkout it was as bad, but I couldnt wait to leave then. Checkout person had a phone to his ear the whole time, took our key cards, and the continued his call. No receipt, no 'goodbye', nothing. The room itself was very nice, but the sound proofing is absolutely awful. All we could hear each morning was the noise of doors banging, hoovers and we could even hear snoring from the room beside us. So you had no choice but to wake up early with all the noise. Also the air-con is terrible, we left it on the whole time, and the room was still very warm. It was only about 20 degrees outside, so I would hate to stay here in the miiddle of Summer. Total let down of a hotel, I would avoid it. I think alot of 5 star hotels have gotten lazy during Covid, but have no problem charging top prices.

Chose this hotel for overnight as on outskirts of SDC for easy get away next morning. Situated high on a hill the rooms face the courtyard or the pool/ tennis court, town and busy road. Super easy parking. Decor is a bit 80s time warp, but the hotel has a slightly faded grand hotel layout with sitting areas about, wide corridors and spacious rooms. we took a family room so we had 2 double beds for a bit more space rather than 2 small singles. Due to Covid the room was a bit stripped down...no kettle, minibar, robes, slippers, notepad etc. Very clean. Got a complimentary bottle wine but no corkscrew to open it. Good basic buffet breakfast with plastic gloves to wear to use buffet. Simón, who checked us in was charming and very helpful giving us all the useful info. Good wifi. Did hear some noise from nearby room with kids going crazy but just a few hours in the evening. Wonderful huge size bath. Great linen and pillows and very comfy bed made for good nights sleep. Would use again. If you want to open windows ask for a room facing the courtyard so there is no road noise. Room service limited hours but came fast and was delicious. Very good value for what we paid and a great night's sleep.

Style over substance - stayed one night after walking the Camino. Room modern but hotel is located near Galicia Plaza and is central so noisy both day and night, especially when Spain sleeps in the afternoon and stays up late evening. 4th floor room - tiny window up high so no view at all and hemmed in ; no information on either - yes 2 safes in the wardrobe- so no idea as to how many digits needed etc; shower - v v v marginal gap between running v hot or cold, impossible to get a medium temperature; second shower couldnt get the shower switch (you pulled under the tap) to stay so had to wash in 2 inches of water in the bath - hence appearance over practicality. QR code takes you to hotel info - thoroughly fed up with that and using phone battery / space etc plus had to go to reception for wifi code as not in room. Wifi didnt work in restaurant in basement.

We were a group of 35 persons touring Galicia for four days. Santiago de Compostela is a good central starting point for such tours. The hotel has a rich breakfast. The rooms are spacy and clean, the beds comfortable. If you suffer of vertigo, you'd better ask for a room in the lower floors. Our criticism concerns mostly their bar. Some of us like white vermuth. Their stock of white vermuth went out in two days. Friends ordered Irish coffee. They got cold coffee mixed with some whiskey. In a rainy evening some rainwater was dropping from the 10th floor roof window onto one table in the bar. We had a common dinner in the last evening in the hotel. All three courses were different from what was ordered.

I had an injury just prior to checking into this hotel. the front desk staff were helpful in the extreme to help me change my room to a more convenient one, find food during siesta time, and they even helped me get a Covid test in my room which was required in order to get on my flight the next day. the room was super comfortable and quiet, the breakfast was fantastic and again, the staff was excellent- friendly, caring, competent and anticipated my needs. thank you!

Great hotel! Big rooms and super clean! Excellent stay especially after a 5 days walking! Breakfast is excellent… lots of choices… staff super cool and accommodating! Very cool hotel… lots if history as previously it was monastery… it is just a few steps by the main square and 10 min walk to the center of the city with lots of restaurants and gifts shops but also a steps always from museum and the fantastic Catedral! A jacuzzi and pool are also available for guests! Highly recommend!

Very convenient location close to Praza de Galicia, walking distance to the city centre and the shuttle to the airport in Rúa do Hórreo. Nice little cafe on the ground floor. Reception is at the first floor. Modern installations and very clean room. We had a balcony so we were able to enjoy the fresh air from Santiago. The bathroom is very spacious and toiletries are included. The bed is very comfortable and the TV is a good size, although we did not use it.

I arrived on the night of November 5 after I was released from the hospital. An international flight made an emergency landing to take me off and hospitalize me. The front desk staff could not have been better. Accommodating, generous and sweet. Rua Villar was a wonderful homecoming for us - we were welcomed from the very start even though we brought bicycles that were kind of a pain for the hotel. No matter, Sandra took care of us, got us situated and was genuinely so concerned and helpful throughout our stay - giving us walking suggestions, dining suggestions and even helping my partner with first aid. Our room was wonderful, large and we loved the interior courtyard. The location couldn't be better as well, everything we needed in walking distance and close to the cathedral and all sorts of dining.

Exquisite hotel - modern facilities, very spacious room & bathroom. Hotel is all marble throughout. Breakfast spread was excellent! Dinner was beyond adequate with variety of choices, drinks, & deserts. Nice grounds to walk around. Huge outdoor pool (too chilly to swim). My only comment is noisy hallways; you can hear your neighbors/thin walls. Wish we could have stayed another day; we stayed here as part of a group tour. Location of hotel is far from the Compostela - you will need a taxi ride.

I have stayed in this hotel many many times. It has been my favorite place to rest after a couple of long weeks on The Camino de Santiago. The place is centrally located in Plaza de Galicia. The bus from the airport, stops in front of the hotel, making it extremely convenient. The bus station and the train station are a short 10 minutes walk away. The staff, Mr. Victor, Mr. Ramon, Mr. Ramon, and Jessica, make sure everything is great. THANK for everything you have done to make sure my Camino ended with a wonderful experience. Looking forward to be back in 2023!!

It was so good. The location is good and the cathedral is not far away. We walked around. It didn't feel far at all. The breakfast was delicious. The room was clean and nice. I think I will stay at this hotel if I go again

We were a group of 16 pilgrims walking the Portuguese Camino. We finished our Camino in this albergue for its tranquility. It is up a hill which could be tuff for injured pilgrims but worth it. Out of the chaos of Santiago. We had a meeting in the yard to wrap up our Camino. It was lovely. We had single room which comes with a sink. There is a market downstairs with a cafeteria, lundry and full kitchen.

I arrived on the night of November 5 after I was released from the hospital. An international flight made an emergency landing to take me off and hospitalize me. It is situated a 12 minute walk from the old town, too far to be going backwards and forwards to the town and there is a feeling of being out of things. As it is on the busy N550 this also is a drawback. Having said all that the hotel itself is fine. The rooms are perfectly clean and comfortable. The breakfast was also all you could wish for.

Dinner was beyond adequate with variety of choices, drinks, & deserts. Nice grounds to walk around. Huge outdoor pool (too chilly to swim). My only comment is noisy hallways; you can hear your neighbors/thin walls. Wish we could have stayed another day; we stayed here as part of a group tour. Location of hotel is far from the Compostela - you will need a taxi ride.

Firstly can I just say the Receptionists, Susi, Andrea and Juan were so friendly and helpful. They are a complete asset to this hotel as there is no bar or lounge area, so their attentiveness is a must. The hotel itself is in a shopping centre on the outskirts of Santiago. The walk to the Cathedral and centre is probably about 30 minutes and a lot of that is uphill. If you don't think you can manage the walk, there are regular buses outside hotel and also a taxi rank. The room we were allocated was a suite ( thank you for upgrade). It was very large and had a sofa area and there was a jacuzzi bath too. The shower head which was in the bath pointed towards the opposite end of the bath so bracket could do with being changed but that said, the water was always hot. The heating in the room was on a hotel timer and the radiators only came on at about 7.45pm, so the room was cold if you were showering before then. Maybe the management can look into changing this in winter/ spring months to an earlier time? The housekeeping was great with fresh towels and cleaning daily.The breakfast was Continental style with a good selection. My only problem was that the lady who worked on service etc had a very unfriendly manner about her. I arrived at 10.25 am on Monday morning for a cup of tea and just to have a Danish.(Breakfast served until 10.30 am)She rudely informed me that they were closed and when I asked could I take a cup of tea to my room( in my own mug) she told me it would cost me €2!! Considering there are no hospitality trays in the rooms I found that to be ridiculous. She was the only member of staff that let this hotel down. Otherwise it's a very affordable, clean hotel to stay in when in Santiago de Campostela.

Chose this hotel for overnight as on outskirts of SDC for easy get away next morning. Situated high on a hill the rooms face the courtyard or the pool/ tennis court, town and busy road. Super easy parking. Decor is a bit 80s time warp, but the hotel has a slightly faded grand hotel layout with sitting areas about, wide corridors and spacious rooms. we took a family room so we had 2 double beds for a bit more space rather than 2 small singles. Due to Covid the room was a bit stripped down...no kettle, minibar, robes, slippers, notepad etc. Very clean. Got a complimentary bottle wine but no corkscrew to open it. Good basic buffet breakfast with plastic gloves to wear to use buffet. Simón, who checked us in was charming and very helpful giving us all the useful info. Good wifi. Did hear some noise from nearby room with kids going crazy but just a few hours in the evening. Wonderful huge size bath. Great linen and pillows and very comfy bed made for good nights sleep. Would use again. If you want to open windows ask for a room facing the courtyard so there is no road noise. Room service limited hours but came fast and was delicious. Very good value for what we paid and a great night's sleep.

Style over substance - stayed one night after walking the Camino. Room modern but hotel is located near Galicia Plaza and is central so noisy both day and night, especially when Spain sleeps in the afternoon and stays up late evening. 4th floor room - tiny window up high so no view at all and hemmed in ; no information on either - yes 2 safes in the wardrobe- so no idea as to how many digits needed etc; shower - v v v marginal gap between running v hot or cold, impossible to get a medium temperature; second shower couldnt get the shower switch (you pulled under the tap) to stay so had to wash in 2 inches of water in the bath - hence appearance over practicality. QR code takes you to hotel info - thoroughly fed up with that and using phone battery / space etc plus had to go to reception for wifi code as not in room. Wifi didnt work in restaurant in basement.

Estuvimos alojados en un apartamento en la planta superior el pasado mes de diciembre y ha sido una de las mejores experiencias que hemos tenido últimamente. Apartamento luminoso, reformado, espacioso y totalmente equipado. Zona muy tranquila e ideal, se encuentra en la zona universitaria, fácil acceso y para encontrar aparcamiento por las noches. Si tuviera que poner una pega, sería la presión del agua caliente es débil. Personal muy amable y profesional, también agradecer a Ana y su compañero de recepción el trato tan amable y servicial que nos ofrecieron y la posibilidad de dejarnos guardar las maletas en el hotel el día del check-out, viene genial ya que muy cerca hay una parada de bus que te lleva al aeropuerto directamente. Para terminar me gustaría comentar, este punto es totalmente ajeno a la dirección o gestión de los apartamentos, y es la poca empatía que tienen algunos huéspedes cuando vuelven a altas horas de la madrugada por el descanso y derecho a dormir de los demás, y espero con este comentario poder concienciar un poco a futuros clientes, ya que normalmente leemos los comentarios y a todos nos gusta disfrutar en nuestras vacaciones, tanto de día como de noche. We come for the atmosphere, as this authentic place is so special to stay in. It was once a seminary, so to get the full experience it's best to spend several nights here. We always ask for the rooms that are just for 2 people (as some are pilgrim rooms with bunk begs, so check when booking) It's quite basic which is fine & the same can be said for the dining (breakfast & dinner, served in the old refectory) but that's all part of the experience. Location could not be better as it's facing the Cathedral of St James in the centre of the old city. It's really good value & it's a great place to meet interesting people from all walks of life & all parts of the world. This year the only thing that was not quite there was the lounge/coffee area was still closed (after the pandemic) & as this is the area where everywhere mixes after some very weary travelling to swap stories, well...we missed it. Otherwise all was really good as usual!

The reception is on 4 th floor, very helpful and friendly staff. Room was really clean, with wonderful white bedding and towels. Very quiet, even though situated in a built up residential area. Next door to the hotel is a very friendly bar, where you can take breakfast. Again friendly service. Ten to Fifteen mins walk into the old town.
