Amoudi Villas

The room was charming and characteristic, at least ours on the second floor because those on the first have two rooms with communicating terraces, in practice to go to our accommodation we passed in the terraces of other people. There is no reception but Jhonny who helps you with your luggage and is always available. Very thorough cleaning of the rooms, the girl also sorted us our clothes .. Air conditioning ok, spacious shower and breathtaking view. The breakfast is a bit monotonous and they bring it to you on the balcony without the possibility of different requests. The stairs are heavy enough to do everyday, so it's for practical people with no babies, strollers. Not suitable for disabled people. There is a designated parking lot but being a point of contact for catamarans, boats and tourists at sunset it becomes a bedlam, so the policeman can also decide not to let you off and walk it. You must necessarily be motorized to stay in this hotel. The beach does not exist, only a cliff for the more practical. In the evening, when the very expensive restaurants close, there is absolute peace.

I stayed in this "hotel" in July 2021 for two nights. I'll tell you about the experience and leave the judgment to you. We arrive in Amoudi Bay from the port by car, there is no parking. The car must be left along the narrow road that goes down and due to the traffic it becomes one-way with cars that move backwards uphill to get out. Long stretch on foot, we arrive at the bay and it is full of people, we call the "hotel" to help us with the bags and a boy arrives who then turns out to be the owner and the handyman who accompanies us along the long staircase to the room, there is no reception. The room at first sight is beautiful, but please do not be fooled by the photos you see the beauty comes now. The honeymoon suite (!!) in the shower has a hole in the back so after a shower the bathroom gets completely flooded. Electricity comes and goes as soon as the air conditioning is turned on. There are no closets or hangers. From here you CANNOT see the sunset because the sun falls behind, but NOT EVEN dawn because the sun rises from the side of the mountain. The jacuzzi was dirty when we arrived and we had to ask for it to be cleaned. The shutters creak are very dated. You will not find anything in the room, there is a minibar and a wine cellar but they are empty, not even water is not provided (they even brought it to the remote Folegandros). Breakfast is NOT a choice, I am attaching a photo of what they will bring you for the amount paid; the day before they had left us the whatsapp number saying to write there the requests that they would surely have satisfied, the next day a completely different breakfast arrives (we had only asked for milk and cereals anyway) and the handyman tells me that they only serve this, this is what they have and it is not the customer who asks but the hotel who serves ... but the whatsapp message? He hadn't thought of answering because that's what they just have. He also tells us that in any case we cannot complain because they made the exception of bringing us a bottle of water that they usually do not carry. And finally, a personal judgment that goes beyond the hotel experience: the view from the bay is not remotely comparable to the magic of being high above the sea, even for this alone I would not recommend this place. You can come for dinner or lunch, but during the day being here is a carnage of people and boats, it is neither romantic nor relaxing. For us Santorini has been a bit ruined by this accommodation if only because we paid so much to have nothing but trouble, we would not recommend it to anyone, it seemed like a scam.

Bellissima locazione con vista splendida. Ottime camere e pulite. Fantastico e indispensabile l aiuto di Johnny ..sempre disponibile. Lo consiglio vivamente. A piedi si raggiunge in 15/20 minuti il centro di Oia. A piedi in taxi o a cavallo.

Chambre magnifique, moderne et avec de la place. Grande baignoire + douche, très appréciable. Terrasse avec jacuzzi, avec une vue incroyable sur la baie d’amoudi. Hôtel très calme, loin du monde. Très bon petit déjeuner, servis sur notre terrasse… Personnel disponible à tout moments. Bémol: situé tout en bas d’Oia, c’est à dire qu’il y a 300 longues marches en pavés à monter et descendre pour se déplacer dans la ville et pour rejoindre les bus qui desservent l’île…
