Our stay at MGM Sanya was absolutely perfect! The hotel faces the beautiful blue sea and silver beach, offering stunning views. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the bedding was especially great. There's a wide variety of food options, and the vinegared fermented dregs (Zao Po Cu) was incredibly delicious and plentiful. The staff were warm, attentive, and proactively helped us plan our itinerary. Even adults could completely relax. The location is convenient, making it easy to get to the beach and nearby attractions. I've already recommended it to friends, and I'll definitely choose to stay here again the next time I visit Sanya!

We used Ctrip's shared airport transfer service when we arrived, which saved us some taxi fare. As soon as we got to the hotel, staff greeted us with shell necklaces, which was a lovely touch. After checking in, I noticed there were a lot of Russians, making me feel like I was abroad, haha. But surprisingly, the Russian guests, both adults and children, were quite quiet, unlike other family-friendly hotels that can be very noisy. The hotel has many pools, large and small, with varying depths. We didn't go in because we can't swim, which was a bit of a shame. There's also a kids' play area where staff teach children crafts. We stayed in a garden-view room facing south, which got fantastic sunlight. Clothes we washed on the first day were completely dry by the next, which I really appreciated, haha. It happened to be our child's birthday during our stay, and the hotel even sent up a small cake 🧁, which was very thoughtful. The only thing I think could be improved is the breakfast. Perhaps because there were so many Russians, a lot of the buffet breakfast options were Western. My Chinese palate found fewer choices.

Our room was on a high floor with views of both the lake and the ocean. There were so many family-friendly activities, like the panda dance, magic shows, and lacquer fan making in the lobby. The breakfast spread was extensive with a wide variety of options. The infinity pool was perfect for photos. My child absolutely loved the water park downstairs; it was genuinely great for kids aged 3 and up, and there was even crab catching! The beach was just across the road, with hotel sun loungers and staff, who also provided sand-digging tools and towels. The mini-bar was replenished after we finished items, and bottled water was unlimited. Our butler, Beibei, was incredibly attentive and responsible. She prepared a bed rail and a child's toilet seat for us in advance and checked in daily to see if we needed anything – big thumbs up! On our last night, she even sent up desserts and fruit.

Our family trip to Yalong Bay Horizon Resort & Spa completely exceeded expectations – a definite five-star review! Our butler, Damei, made everything so effortless. As soon as we checked in, she sent us a guide for activities and breakfast information. Any small request we had for the room was met with an instant response. She even kindly extended our check-out to 2 PM, saving us any hassle. The hotel grounds resemble a tropical garden, with swaying palm trees and lush greenery everywhere – perfect for photos. The six major water areas and over ten pools are well-distributed, including heated pools and kids' pools to suit all needs. Plus, it's just steps away from the fine sands of Yalong Bay. The guest rooms are thoughtfully designed with meticulous details. They even provide drying racks and a dryer, so wet swimsuits dry quickly. Children's bathrobes, slippers, toothbrushes, and special toiletries were all prepared in advance, along with a small stool for the baby. The smart toilet and large bathtub were spotless, and the hygiene was impeccable – making for a super comfortable stay. The breakfast buffet was another delightful surprise! The variety was so extensive that we couldn't try everything, with hot dishes, seafood, freshly made noodles, and fresh fruit all available. There were even special items for babies like tomato and egg pancakes, sandwiches, and white chocolate doughnuts. The kids' dining area was thoughtfully designed, allowing parents to enjoy their meal in peace. The family-friendly activities are definitely the hotel's highlight! The daily schedule was packed and engaging. The petting zoo allowed us to feed ostriches and miniature horses, and the kids' club had trampolines and a painting area. There were also facilities like jungle trekking, zip-lining, and a sightseeing train. The evening fire dance performance created an amazing atmosphere. The children's services kept the kids so entertained that they didn't want to leave, saving us the trouble of planning any outside excursions. From service to facilities and the overall experience, Horizon Resort & Spa has truly considered every aspect of a family's needs. We'll definitely choose this hotel again for our next family trip to Sanya!

The room was spacious with modern decor and an outdoor balcony. I booked a garden-view room, and the hotel upgraded me to a lake-view room with some partial obstructions, which was still nice. They have an underground parking garage, which helps keep cars out of the sun. The gym and ping-pong area were sufficiently sized, which is a plus. However, the outdoor pool was really too small; it would be hard for 4-5 people to swim comfortably, probably only good for influencer photos. The hotel offers a butler service, and they contacted me before check-in. There seemed to be a lot of parent-child activities, but unfortunately, I didn't get to use them. The downsides are that if you want to go to the beach, the hotel's location is a bit off, requiring about an 8-minute walk. Also, the breakfast was a bit underwhelming, and I hope they can improve it.

## Environment The geographical location in Yalong Bay is truly exceptional. The hotel's internal greenery is fantastic, and with the beach right in front, it's perfect for a stroll or a swim. Breakfast is incredibly rich and delicious, with two dining areas, allowing for off-peak dining. ## Service Staff members are always friendly, greeting guests enthusiastically when encountered. Service response is also quite prompt; issues are addressed, resolved, and followed up on in a timely manner. ## Facilities I can only say it's indeed an old-established hotel, feeling a bit like a beauty past her prime. While the outdoor environment is superb, the in-room facilities are certainly a bit dated, not in a modern style. Moreover, the lighting in the room is super dim, with hardly any main lights – it's as if they don't want you to sleep well. I strongly advise everyone to stay on the eighth floor; the sound insulation between floors isn't great, and staying on lower floors often means hearing the sounds of chairs being moved or people running and jumping upstairs. ## Hygiene Overall, the cleaning is quite good.

Choosing a hotel often feels like a gamble, but this stay was a definite win! The lobby has a grand architectural style, and there's a corridor connecting directly to a commercial street, making it easy to find unique and appealing restaurants nearby. Check-in at the front desk was quick, and the staff were all very patient. The room assigned was exactly what I'd hoped for: spacious with a balcony, and kept impeccably clean. The hotel facilities are excellent; the kids' play area is open from 9 AM to 9 PM, and you can come and go as many times as you like, which truly makes it a children's paradise. Breakfast offered a wide variety of choices and lasted until 11 AM. Highly recommended!

Hotel feels very old fashioned style and service attitude wasn’t so nice. At 3 room wasn’t ready and no one even apologised and even didn’t offer us water. We got the room only at 4:00 and it was very disappointing just opposite the elevator, despite the fact that we asked room away from elevator in advance. They tried to change us another room but also opposite the elevator. Finally manager helped us to solve this issue and offered us better room in better condition and with beautiful view. Hotel area and swimming pool is good and pleasant, but for this money you can get much better conditions in new modern hotel.

They say this hotel's name doesn't do it justice, and I wholeheartedly agree. Initially, I didn't have high expectations, as the hotel is almost ten years old. But I was incredibly impressed! Even before I arrived, the front desk called to confirm my information, whether I was driving, and my travel companions. From the moment we entered the underground parking, staff were constantly by our side. The shuttle service was frequent and efficient. Check-in for the villa area is separate from the main lobby. When we arrived, our butler, Cici, heard that a family member had back pain and quietly upgraded our room type, which made us so happy! There was also a dedicated staff member who drove the shuttle, helped with our luggage, and meticulously explained all the room's features. Later, we wanted to use the soaking tub. Dialing '0' on the room phone connected us directly to the butler, and the service response was incredibly fast. A staff member immediately came with brushes and a bucket to clean the tub (it wasn't even that dirty, they just wanted to ensure customer satisfaction). Cici also messaged us in the evening to ask if we needed anything. We happened to want some extra pillows and a few small items. By the time we returned to our room, two large bags of things were already set out. Before bed, Cici even sent a thoughtful reminder message about locking the door and how to adjust the lights. In short, I'd come back again just for Cici's service. This kind of service blows many popular, highly-hyped hotels out of the water. The small lake in the backyard is also beautiful, and you can enjoy some not-too-dangerous water sports. A small path across the road leads directly to the sea, where they have their own beach, and it also feels very lively and authentic. Next time I come to Sanya, I'll definitely book this hotel again with friends, just for this kind of service. It's a truly warm and welcoming experience, where you genuinely feel at home.

Ignoring some of the negative reviews online, I decided to book a stay in the villa area to experience it myself. The 24-hour shuttle service was incredibly convenient and even fun, like a little roller coaster for kids! The setting is very natural, so there were quite a few bugs, but thankfully they didn't bite. For takeout orders, you had to pick them up outside the premises; it would be even better if they offered direct delivery to the villa. We experienced the pool on a rainy day, and it created such a wonderful ambiance! For just over 1000 [RMB], you really can't find a pool villa like this anywhere else. I'll definitely be returning!
